As The World Cast Members Heading To Y&R?

Will some of the soon-to-be ending As The World Turns alumni be headed to The Young and The Restless? Y&R's Peter Bergman chatted with Zap2it's Jay Bobbins about the Daytime Emmys being hosted in Las Vegas and ATWT came up. Bergman said,

"I have plenty of friends" on that serial, Bergman reports, "and they are wonderful actors. We may get them on our show; we'll see. Marcy Rylan, who plays Abby, came to us from Guiding Light. I had watched her there and said, 'She's very good.'

Y&R needs to DOWNSIZE it's cast. There are too many characters, and some of these characters have begun to seriously bore the heck out of me, and need to be backburnered for a while.....(Phyllis, Sharon, Nick.....) If they want to bring on ATWT actors, make sure you mix them into the canvas slowly and wisely. There are also plenty of actors/actresses who I would love to see more of (Jill, Katherine, Nina, Nikki....)

It doesn't help that they keep bringing on these D-list celebrities/reality TV stars, which further takes away from the screen time that these characters could be getting!!!

Yojoromo---The website has been having server problems. That's why it's been unavailable for the past few days.

Yojoromo--LOL!!! I have missed your dry sense of humor. As far as my profile picture goes, we both know that it's not going anywhere, so let's just move past it. LOL!! Besides, why tamper with perfection???

Gotta love how PB gives the impression that him just saying Marcy Rylan was "very good" is why she's on the show.

As much as I would love to see ATWT's heavy hitters, like Maura West or Roger Howarth, land in Genoa City, I agree Y & R's canvas is too full right now.  The show needs to weed out five to seven characters and they need to do it now!  The airtime of characters is SO uneven and that impacts stories and audience interest.

Hey, Alstonboy.  You and I are much more in agreement about Y&R than we are about GH so I'll just stick with you over here.

I REALLY don't want to see anyone new added to the show for now.  Things are still a mess from the whole double doppleganger/who "killed" Adam craziness and there's a lot more clean-up that needs doing before they should start stirring things up with any more newbies.  They aren't making good use of the two good ones they've just brought in (Stephen Nichols and Eden Riegel) and they've already WAY over-exposed the marginal one (Marcy Rylan) to the point that I'm actually missing Hayley Erin.

To be honest, I'm not sure there's that much of a chance that we'll see a lot of migration to Y&R--after all, ATWT is a NY-based soap.  These fine actors are far more likely to create their own web-series or do Broadway/Live Theater than haul their cookies cross country (unless one of the other struggling soaps--AMC or DOOL--that are in need of an infusion of veteran talent can promise a big payday AND job security).
