CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WINNERS AND NOMINEES except for The Dr. Oz show. This was my first Daytime Emmy viewing in YEARS, and I must say, what a horribly produced production.

What do Cirque De Solei, The Blue Man Group, and The Lion King have to do with daytime?

I enjoyed the tribute to Dick Clark and American Bandstand but it was out of place and did they need to devote all the time they did to both. Really, it was longer than the tribute to Agnes Nixon. Also, Ms. Nixon did not create the soap The City. She created it's predecessor, Loving, which got no mention.

Regis is NOT daytime, so why is David Letterman contributing a top ten list????? Regis's monologue was excruciatingly painful. The David Copperfield trick at the beginning was pretty cool although I think the strobing lights would have given everyone in the audience seizures. Good thing they shut it off when they did.

What crap was that tribute to As The World Turns? 53 years on the air and all they show is a 53 second music montage which was mostly spent showing the evolution of the As The World Turns logo through the years. I know it was more than 53 seconds but all I remember are the different logos.

I wished they showed the clips that were submitted for Emmy consideration instead of just telling us who was nominated.

Also, the music supervision was horrible. The only daytime themes I heard were for The Young and The Restless.

This Emmy presentation was a JOKE. Text you favorite daytime whatever, whatever to such and such. Visit CBS.com on Monday for does anyone care. This presentation shows the genre is dying. There was no love and care in this production. Grade: F.

I am torn between this year's show being the worst or last year's.

The pluses for the show this year was honoring Dick Clark for Band Stand...giving Agnes Nixon the Lifetime Achievement Award...and at least acknowledging that ATWT is going off the air this year. Oh and just seeing the soap actors in the audience.

What I wasn't thrilled with was the rest of the show that had very little to do with daytime television and focusing so much there that the daytime awards seemed like an afterthought.

Regis was fine as a host and made more sense than Vanessa Williams last year (though have her host the Tonys and I am there).

It just seems that the recent tradition continues where those in charge of anything to do with daytime have little to no appreciation of daytime.

I am also so sad that Guiding Light was shut-out. And I have nothing against Maura West and I would bet the ATWT cast will have to pull something out of their butts in the next month if they want to be nominated for the emmys for next year...but really, what Crystal Chappell submitted for her nomination transcended the standard soapy scenes we are used to year after year. It was the real deal and she was coming from her heart and soul with that performance.

People keep saying that the daytime dramas is a dying genre...but from here it looks more like lots of folks are trying to kill it. The show tonight is exhibit A. I hope for those in the audience it was more enjoyable then what we saw here at home.

Post script...we lost 3 greats this year...James Mitchell, Frances Reid and Helen Wagner...and yet, not even a 30 second mention during the show. Just more suckage.

Well I'm in twitter jail because of these emmys...

First of all, I love and respect everything Dick Clark has done for the entertainment genre. He is a class act and an inspiration. That being said... 20 minutes of tribute to Dick Clark vs. 1 minute of tribute to As the World Turns? ATWT deserved something longer and more memorable.

Agnes Nixon, you are the gem of the day. You are the grace that revolutionized storytelling forever, and your tribute was simply amazing. Susan Lucci, I asked you this on twitter, but will you be my wife?

Congrats to Julie Pinson... didn't expect that.. but congrats!

Killa Milla, you even named the Emmy speeches. Billy Miller is such a class act. I love how he talked about his journey from All My Children to Young and the Restless, and how each person has helped him along the way. I hope he breaks Geary's record one day.

Younger Actress.... they nailed it on the head. Julie Marie Berman is head and sholders above the competition in that category and I like the Jennifer Finnigan analogy that people make about her. She deserves all the credit.

*Takes a deep breath* Drew. Tyler. Bell. I think that they put the BS in CBS tonight with that craziness. You mean to tell me, that he had a reel. for all five minutes that he was a supporting small insignificant little pest last year, that was of better quality than Scott Clifton as Schuyler Joplin, the recovering drugatic turned teacher turned med student that fell for Gigi Morasco and thought he impregnated her stripper sister, and Drew Garrett, the Michael of all Michaels that kills his stepmother after waking up from a year long coma that she put him in. I'm not even counting Zack Conroy who had some incredible scenes opposite Grant Aleksander and Dylan Patton who shook Salem to its core after Grace died. Embarassing. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves.

Lead Actor... no surprise... people kept saying James Scott, but I figured that hometown boy Michael Park would win it, and honestly, he deserves it, and I hope *crossing fingers* he goes to OLTL and does well there too.

Maura West would have been the surprise of the night if it weren't for the embarrassment in the Younger Actor Category. Honestly, I thought either Crystal Chappell or Sarah Brown were going to take it, but I guess that would force CBS to agknowledge Guiding Light. Silly me.

Best Drama and Writing... wow.. congrats Brad Bell. You officially know how to beat the system. All you have to do is write crappy 98% of the time and then submit the other 2% when you kill off someone in a dramatic fashion. Katie Logan better watch her hat because I think she's next!

GL was completely shut out its still shocking to me. Was it the production values that kept the voters from seeing the acting? How then can we explain DTB?

tonyjets - "Regis is NOT daytime"

I'm sorry, but the Daytime Emmy awards is not the place for a 20 minute tribute to Dick Clark. That would have been more appropriate on a the grammy's. I guess this is why we didn't get to see any of the actor's scenes. We were totally robbed of that!

ATWT only got a one minute tribute???

The only award that the judges got right was Billy Miller. Come on Drew Tyler Bell? He's not even a contract player and what little acting he did lasted over a couple of weeks, let alone an entire year??? Zach Conroy is a far better actor in this category as is Scott Clifton.

Michael Park? Huh??? I don't get that one. Julie Pinson??? I'm stumped.

But the one that totally made no sense whatsoever was Maura West over Crystal Chappell. I really think this one was all political. No one from GL won. Crystal had every woman in her category beat by a mile and then some. Bobby Eakes, I don't even get the nomination. Stafford, she is an excellent actress, but the storyline over the last year is getting really old. How many more ways can she have Phyllis fawning over Nick and his feelings toward his ex-wife? Sarah Brown, another excellent actress but her chops were no where in the same league as Crystal Chappell's. So on to Maura West, yes , she had a good story and acted it beautifully but was it Emmy worthy, in the came league as Crystal Chappell, no. If Crystal had not been given shut a wonderful to tell, a story that only her acting talents could pull off, then yes, Maura would be the best choice; however that was not the case.

Crystal you were robbed! I highly doubt you'll ever get another chance for an Emmy for Best Actress now that you are on DAYS. I just can't see DAYS giving you a Best Actress worthy story unless they get some new writers who actually have talent. At least with Venice you can give your fans what you want, what they want.

The whole entire telecast was a complete and utter joke! I would have much rather them not been broadcast at all!

Was this really the Daytime Emmy's? I thought it was a Vegas/CBS add. Sad to see the Emmy's become less and less about the backbone of daytime - soaps.

The nominees raced by so fast they could not show them in the audience before they announced the winner. After the winner was announced they showed just a few of the other nominees.
younger actress-showed Khalil
supporting actress -showed Beth Chamberlin twice! & Bree Williamson
actress - showed Bobby Eakes
actor - DID NOT show ANY nominees! Just a shot of Chrishell Straus & guy that plays JR om amc!

Would have liked to see the other nominees.

sad

Dick Clark already received a LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD back in 1994, and I don't see why "American Bandstand" needed to eat up the first twenty plus minutes of the freaking show!!!!!!!

They didn't show ANY of the nomination reels, nor did they show all the nominees sitting in the audience (which I was hoping for, since there was no pre-show, and I didn't even get to see what certain actresses like Arianne Zuker, Christel Khalil and Sarah Brown WORE to the event, or if they even showed up at ALL~~!!) I am sorry for being nitpicky, but I like to see these things. I watch this for the SOAP ACTORS AND ACTRESSES, not for the other random and boring categories (like Best Talk Show and Best Game Show, who really cares????? Angry )

And all the singing and dancing routines were nothing short of PAINFUL!!! PAINFULLY BORING. PAINFULLY DULL. I don't care how many "musical legends" they had.....if I want to see a free concert, I will go to YouTube. Didn't they learn their lesson LAST year when Vanessa Williams incited NATIONWIDE narcolepsy with her silly song and dance numbers???? I nearly fell asleep LAST year, and this year was no different!!

And why did so many actors show up/present DRUNK??? They didn't even bother to try to disguise it. Whatever happened to PROFESSIONALISM?? These are the same people who can memorize 80-pages of dialogue a day, but they can't say a few lines while drunk without embarrassing themselves??? Gimme a break. I was disappointed with soooo many actors. Yeah, we're all human, and we all like to have fun, but this was ridiculous!! Utterly ridiculous.

I am just glad that Brad Bell FINALLY learned that the easiest way to win Emmys is to pay people off. Yeah, I am saying it......he obviously paid people off/heavily influenced people to vote for his show and his illegitimate baby boy, Drew Tyler Bell. They should REALLY have an internal investigation because I smell something fishy!!! And it's NOT that dancing lobster that I saw last night! He didn't even really look surprised when he won!! Something's not right. I hope they dig deeper into this. A CLEAN SWEEP BY B&B?????? Hmmm.......there are MANY hands in this cookie jar, folks. And none of them are clean!! Just sayin........
