Tom Pelphrey Returns to The Stage For In God's Hat

Former Guiding Light and As the World Turns' star Tom Pelphrey is joining the cast of the Off-Broadway production of In God’s Hat, according to Theater Mania.

In the play, Pelphrey plays Roy, who is reunited with his older brother, Mitch, who has been in prison for many years. Roy goes from meek to psychotic after a pair of Nazis invades his brother's hotel room. "They are spending their first night after Mitch's release in a hotel, and soon, the stakes are very high," says Pelphrey. "If the Coen brothers and Sam Shepard wrote a play together, I think this would be it."

Tom Pelphery was the find of last decade and I hope her stays away from Daytime. His talent is better use in the theater. He has a potentially promising career in that arena.

I see Tom Pelphrey as being the next Johnny Depp or big screen actor. Hell, if Robert Pattinson can make it big, why can't Tommy?????

Luke, I'd just like to clarify your statement above based on what I learned when I interviewed Tom late last year for ustownhall.com where we discussed both GL and this particular play.

He really isn't "joining the cast" per se because "In God's Hat" is being produced by the Apothecary Theatre Company of which Tom is a member. Basically, it's his theatre group self-producing this play, and it will have a limited run off-Broadway now through early August.

So, this isn't an existing production that he's just joining. Tom is originating this role in this new-to-the-stage play.

Hope that didn't sound too nitpicky on my part. Smile
