Oprah Snags Rosie's New Show

The new dynamic duo? Deadline is reporting that the mighty O's Oprah Winfrey Network has picked up Rosie O'Donnell's new daytime talk show. Oprah stated,
Rosie is an undeniable talent who has captivated TV audiences for nearly 20 years. She’s a true original, who brings her authentic voice, dynamic energy and pure passion to everything she does.

O'Donnell's last stint on daytime tv was back in 2007 when she served as moderator for the ABC chatfest The View, replacing Meredith Vieira.  O'Donnell said,

It’s an honor and a privilege to work with Oprah Winfrey on her network.  I’m excited to be back on daytime television.

O'Donnell's foray back into daytime is slated for 2011.

I am not SUPER excited about this, but only because I feel like the whole "talk show circuit deal" has become so oversaturated and TIRED over the past few decades. It seems that ANY idiot or has-been who feels that he or she has an iota of personality, even when said individual has NONE, tries to get a talk show, expecting mainstream America to fall madly in love with them for 5 hours a week. That rarely works.

However, Rosie has always entertained me, and I have always held the VEHEMENT belief that Rosie, not that BOBBLEHEADED tramp, Elizabeth Hasslebitch, should have continued on "The View".........Her personality was PERFECT for that show, and for all intents and purposes, she should still be on there.

Yeah, it's been a few years since it happened, but I'm still slightly pissed about it. LOL!!!!

Queen of idiots, one of those nut jobs that think the government brought down the towers, an excuse to go to Iraq for oil. Well where is are oil? If she can keep her big mouth shut, and do what she once did, but I think that ship has long sailed, I use to like her.

Where's the emoticon for puking when we need one - guess this will have to do Sick I can hardly think of anyone I am less interested in hearing from than Rosie.

I'm looking forward to seeing it as long as it doesn't come on versus GH!! Maybe this is what will replace Oprah's 4PM show? Rosie is always entertaining and I understand it will be one subject per hour sort-of like Oprah's talk show. Wonder if Oprah's network will be carried by my satellite company?

Just because you do not agree with the views of someone does not give you the right to defame their character by making a nasty comment such as calling her a tramp. I enjoy reading your posts but this one I think was uncalled for. I personally have some very strong feelings about Rosie but would not think of putting them out there.

Richalan67--

Bottom line: I don't like Elizabeth Hasslebitch, a fact that I am not going to APOLOGIZE for, nor am I gonna bite my tongue or pretend to be "politically correct" about an opinion that I have held for YEARS!! Calling Elizabeth Hasslebitch a TRAMP, in my opinion, is no different than my calling her an airhead, moron, Republican piece of crap or whatever other nouns I deem necessary to call her. It's called FREE SPEECH. Just because YOU wouldn't stoop to my level, that doesn't mean that I am not going to come on here and express myself HONESTLY and CANDIDLY. Please don't try to play "PC police"......especially not with me. I am not on here to be policed or babysat, I am on here to voice my views. You write what YOU see fit, and I'll continue to do the same thing. Have a great day.

Well, then speaks volumes about your character. End of subject.

I used to like Rosie. Now I do not. I haven't since she ended her last talk show. (Her own show I mean. Not when she was on The Few.)

No, richalan67, NOT end of subject. It's not okay for alstonboy4315 to express his opinion, but then you fire back with your own snide comment "Well that speaks volumes about your character?"

I don't think so. I'll take alstonboy's honest opinion over your two-faced holier-than-thou attitude any day of the week.

And for the record, I can't stand Elisabeth Hasselbeck either.

Just to piss people off, should have Donald Trump as first guest, call her a big fat lard head to her face, start up the feud again, two rich morons going after each other.

Thom Hunt,

Thanks for backing me up. I am sooo sick of certain people, who shall remain nameless, but they KNOW who they are, coming on here and flinging drive-by character assassinations, trying to dictate to other people what they should say, feel, think and believe!!!! And the insults and temper tantrums also must stop. This website is, or at least it SHOULD be, devoted to the art of free speech and expression. Those on here who can't handle differing opinions or people saying derogatory comments about people, shows and ideas that they hold up on a "pedestal" need to take their crayons and Play Doh and go play in the sandbox by themselves. I could've SWORN that this forum was for mature and rational adults, but clearly ANY Tom, Dick and Raheim can post on here!!! And now THAT'S the end of the subject--as far as I'm concerned!!

And Richalan---

You don't know me and I don't know you. Keep your amateurish value judgments to yourself. If you want to play guidance counselor to someone else, feel free. But don't bring that foolishness to MY front door. I don't have the time or the energy for it.

Alston,

You and I don't always agree. For example, I don't hate Elizabeth H. I just find her occasionally annoying but I love that you back up and defend your opinions, giving a reason for having them. Having a negative opinion is not the same as being negative for negativity's sake. I don't see why others can't get that.

And I don't think any of the posts on here should be used for assuming anything about the people that write them. I'm guessing that you probably don't look a whole lot like Victoria Rowell. Smile

Keep up the good fight!

Kcgeban--

LOL!! I appreciate your kind words and support. Mature and intelligent minds think alike, and as long as others attempt to drag my good name through the mud and start "cyber fights" with me over silliness and childish matters, I will have no other choice but to keep my dukes up and maintain my fighting stance!!

Not everyone can blog with class and style like we can, though. I shall simply say a prayer for those who can't and keep it moving........

Does anyone else think it's wird that Oprah picked up Rosie's show considering the problems they've had in the past? I know Rosie was on Oprah's program not too long ago but considering Oprah said that Rosie didn't know anything about politics and shouldn't talk about them, how can she pick up a show that's likely to at least on some level, deal with politics?
