In late breaking news, ABC Soaps In Depth received confirmation from a network spokesperson regarding Irizarry’s departure. "We are sorry to lose Vincent, but David’s death was storyline-dictated and the payoff of this story will reveal many unexpected twists and plot developments," According to the actor himself, the news regarding his contract talks was "not authorized and premature." 8 Responses Ryan-Scott September 9, 2010 what AlstonBoy said! The writers painted him into a corner as a cartoon Villain, and there was no where to go with him. I won’t miss David. He has been unwatchable since he blackmailed Amanda into having sex with him in a car. I wish VI all the best.. He is so talented. I’m sure he will land another show. Log in to Reply alstonboy4315 September 9, 2010 As I said in an earlier post…. BOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >) >) HISS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >) >) I really wish there were an emoticon that could TRULY capture how I feel about this!!! David Hayward was arguably the most INTERESTING male character on the canvas, even though the writers have been killing him softly with character assassination for MONTHS, this is still an UNEXPECTED kick in the gazungas!!!! I don’t wish death on ANY character, as much as I may despise him or her, but there are other characters who I’d rather have seen take dirt naps, real or fake. This news just sucks all around!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (HEAVY SIGH!) Log in to Reply goyankees September 9, 2010 He is so better off, and too good for the Worst Soap on the dial. I say that w/no apologize. Watched for well over 20 years, quit cold turkey in 2007. Anyway, a guy who (I believe) has won emmys is expendable, and Cameron M. Who couldn’t act his way out of a paper bag sticks around. Seriously. It would be laughable if it weren’t so pathetically sad…. Log in to Reply awesomeGod September 9, 2010 I can’t believe this. David Hayward was my favorite actor. He is a good actor and I will surely miss him. I just hate that the writers never let him be the father and husband that he really could have been. He will surely be missed by me. Log in to Reply angrierblackerman September 9, 2010 He probably misses his family. You can’t really blame him. Nobody told the show to pack up and move to LA. They aren’t saving money, they are not more economical, it was a move to force vets out and cut budget. AMC is going to go down in flames, and may not be around in a year’s time.
