Library of American Broadcasting Names Mama Agnes Nixon a "Giant of Media"

The Library of American Broadcasting selected Agnes "Mama Agnes" Nixon among their "Giants of Media" during an event at the Grand Hyatt in New York on Oct. 6.  Nixon—who wrote for such soap operas as The Guiding Light, As The World Turns and Another World,  before going on to create her own sudsers, One Life to Live, All My Children and Loving (with Douglas Marland)—was one of 11 media giants selected, including: Hal Jackson, one of the first black men to host radio and TV programs in the U.S., 60 Minutes correspondent Lesley Stahl and ABC's Sam Donaldson. Let's hear a round of cyber applause for the woman who gave me my Rachel Davis on Another World, oh yeah...and Erica Kane on that other show of course!
