West was great! I loved how her Diane put Nikki in her place. Finally, someone called out the Genoa City parents for dumping their kids in boarding school! LOL.

I keep looking at her thinking........she almost looks young enough to be Victor's DAUGHTER. Actually, scratch that---she DOES look young enough to be Victor's daughter, not his ex-wife. And considering that Diane is supposed to be in her 50s (I think???!), I still think that Maura West is farrrr too young to be playing Diane.

She did a good job, though--as I knew she would. But I must admit, I miss Susan Walters.

I love Maura, but it is going to take me a little time to not view her as Carly even with the new haircut. I think in time she will nail the role and make it her own.

I think she was amazing great recast, even though I am against recasts!Ido not think she looks much younger than Susan Walters and she certaily looks over 40!

Maura West can do no wrong in my book, but I´m finding it hard to accept her as Diane. She does seem like a good fit for Y&R, unlike Stephen "Patch Johnson" Nichols.

I think she is Perfect for the role. Loved her scene with Nikki and can't wait for the cat fights with Phyllis. Great recast. Now if we can get a good actor to play Malcolm.

She is not right for this role. Too young, too blonde. Maura was just 10-12 years old when Diane was boinking Jack after he married Patty.

Alex Donnelly left such a good impression in the role that a recast is extremely hard to accept (I didn't like Susan Walters either). I think Maura would've been better as a recast Patty or better yet, a totally new role.

Maura West is a great actress and will be good in ANY role, so yes she is. I personally barely remember what the other one look like, so it helps.

Y&R takes a lot of chances with their casting and recasting; and not all of them work.

I am appreciating my NuHeather vacation, thank god for that one! From what I read on message boards I am not the only one!

I personally do not care for Maura West. She is 38 looks at least 48 and is just another haggard looking bleached blonde. I have a fantastic plasma TV and up close she looks very tired and reminds me exactly of last Diane that we had and if hair would have been dark, would have been hard to tell them apart and all they are doing with her is old recycled crap that should not even be shown. Also hard to accept that all the other kids aged so much and we still have same Kyle. We need some new writers and no more replacement actors.

I agree....if they were going to de-age Diane and have her go after Ashley's boyfriend, Ashley's boyfriend should be AT LEAST 10 YEARS YOUNGER! They have never replaced Brad so I have no man I like as a hottie, nuTucker, Victor, Jack are too old. Cane, Nick, Adam too young for me.

A sixty year old Tucker should be used to interact between Jill, Nikki, and maybe Gloria. It's totally ridiculous to bring an older man to Y&R to pair up with woman Sharon's age. It's enough that Jack and Victor get a revolving door of young woman, why bring another old man if they unsuited to be coupled with OUR older woman.

Besides, Patch looks too shabby, and too much of an introvert to portray a billionaire. He just doesn't look the part.

Love her as Diane so far, my only gripe is the hair..I wanted to see her as a brunette with long hair. She looks like Mrs. Howell from Gilligan's Island with that hairstyle.

She DOES look a lot older than she is, so she is fine playing Diane. She looks like she is in her late 40's with the hair. Light blond hair makes women look older, and darker hair makes them look younger.

I was skeptical about Maura playing Diane Jenkins. I wasn't certain I'd be able to get beyond the obvious age difference b/t character and actress. And of course, I wondered if I keep thinking, "look it's Carly on Y&R." But, she proved why she is a two time Emmy winner. Her scenes with Nikki and Phyllis revealed what good soap opera acting is all about, timing, presence, and emotion. I didn't really care for Alex Donnely's Diane. I liked Susan Walters version better; however, Maura West will make this character her own. She's a scence stealer by day two. I can't think of two many re-cast that have the vitality she displayed. GO MAURA!

Well I liked the actress who played Diane Jenkins before so? I guess these cancelled out show actors are looking for work on the few soaps that are left. I haven't watched ATWT in a very long time when I did Maura West had just started out...

I know she's won several emmys; I can get over the age difference.. which is noticiable for me in story however I have to agree with all these old coots with young actresses opposite them. I am willing to give her a chance its way too soon but my first impression as a fan of the character she did very well...

I agree Ashley should have a young hot business tycoon then; I understand Tucker as the "laid back billionnaire" because they actually exist.

I think Maura proved that a high profile recast that looks iffy on paper can work if the actor/actress is just that good, and she is. Y&R tried it earlier this year, and it has just NOT worked cough*nuHeather*cough. Maura stole EVERY scene she was in. I have always been a fan, but not a superfan, so I have a new found respect for her and her seamless transition. Yes writing does matter and she has been written well in her few scenes thus far, but there is a certain quality and delivery that she brings that make me like her, whereas others have not had that je ne sais quoi.

She's good ... but it takes a lot for her to become Diane Jenkins in my mind. Maura does seem to be a little bit too young for the role.

I did like her first scenes though. Her talk with Victor just seemed a little bit off, because I couldn't picture Maura's Diane as Victor's ex-wife in those scenes.

And yeah, it's a tragedy that they didn't aged Kyle. Just seems so unnatural when he has to be Abby's age to honor the history how both kids are conceived.

Y&R and their recasts haven't been that great lately. NuHeather is a big mess and I just can't get over the fact what Malcolm has become.

I think Maura did well. I surprisingly enjoyed her...but I didn't really like her being a rival with Phyllis I liked her more as a rival with Nikki. There was more magic there when she was sparring with Nikki.

Only other complaint is the age thing but it's only bad when she is up with Eric Braeden. Everyone else i think she looks fine with.

I hope MW does well on Y&R. It's hard to make the switch when you are an iconic character on another soap. I watched ATWT for the last two years, and I will never understand the fangurly love towards MW/Carly (nor for TC/Katie either). Just stating my opinion. I thought KMH was a much more watchable and enjoyable actor.

It's hard to care about Diane coming back when it's a new actor in the role. Maura shares no history with Peter, Michelle, Eileen, Eric, Melody, etc...so her return is pretty "meh". If the real Diane, Alex Donnelly, had returned, there's already a camaraderie between the actors. AND they could have used classic flashbacks to better integrate her.

Maura's Diane is basically a brand new character, so it's a shame they didn't just create a new character for her. It's also especially insulting to the audience's intelligence that Kyle is his proper age (11), whereas Abby is about ten years older than that even though they were both born around the same time and conceived as part of the Victor's Spermgate story.

It's too bad they didn't bring Alex back as Diane when Patty was around..that would have stirred the pot! Now if Maura's Diane ever meets Stacy Haiduk's Patty, it'll be a "Who cares?" moment since neither of the actors share the history. At least Alex's Diane is memorable as the woman who caused Patty to have her breakdown.

Diane has been through Victor and Jack. Since she's Sharon's age she could be in contention for Nick down the road. She did want to be a Newman.

Bill Gates is an intelligent type billionaire (former computer nerd), he's smartly dressed, serious and charitable. They were going for Richard Branson with Tucker...lots of hair and started in the record business. But Branson is a daredevil, adventurous, (he's sailing, ballooning,) and extremely sociable. Branson's personality is more like the first Tucker who was out-going and an extrovert. This nuTucker is quiet and brooding, he doesn't seem like a powerful guy.I laugh when he orders Sophia and Neil around. It sooo doesn't work.

Love Maura West; she's easily one of the best actresses to grace daytime in the last two decades. Other than the Diane/Victor scenes, which I didn't buy for a second, I'm pretty much on board with this particular recast. Granted, the age thing is a little annoying, but she's a better actress than Alex Donnelley--or as I like to call her, the original Amelia Heinle--or Susan Walters, so I'm good with it.

I am an Alex C. Diane Jenkins fan so whatever...the whole thing is so off kilter re: her and Kyle's age and all that I'm just looking at her basically as a new character. The last time I watched ATWT Maura West was just coming on pretty much as Carly so I really don't know much about her stories on that show.

But she did well they moved her around the canvas realistically the confrontations w/Nikki and Phyllis, scenes with Ashely/Tucker/Victor and Jack.

The actress has a job and her fans can see her that's good for them. I've seen many good actresses in daytime so her chops aren't that spectacular for me I know she's won Emmys but since I've never really watched her on ATWT; I wouldn't really know other than her first scenes on Y/R.

As for Tucker the laid back billionaire, I liked the first one better but I'm a fan of Stephen Nichols too but still had a problem with the re-cast. I've always had trouble with re-casts its a tough sell but I can see SN Tucker as a billionaire maybe because of the role he played as an extremely wealthy Stefan Cassadine for years on GH.

I'm already sick of her. I don't need to see her EVERY DAMNED DAY.

Didn't watch her other soap. Don't know who she is. Don't care.

When they replace an existing character with another actor, it's hard for me to get used to them at first. I have to keep reminding myself that this is an old character with show history. I had the same problem when AH came on as Victoria.
