Like Adam Newman, whose mother Hope (Signy Coleman) died of pancreatic cancer, Muhney tells the Official Y&R Fansite, he too has lost someone he loves to the disease, his favorite uncle. "Since my uncle’s passing, we’ve made progress in research, but we still have more to accomplish before a cure is found," he said. "I am determined to assist in any way I can to further research and eventually find a cure." On the show, Muhney’s character’s mother (Hope Adams) died from the deadly disease. "It makes playing this character more meaningful," he added. Fans who want to help the talented actor raise both awarness and funds for research to combat pancreatic cancer, can head out to LA’s Veteran’s Administration Grounds on Sunday, Oct. 31 for the 13th Annual L.A. Cancer Challenge (L.A.C.C.) 5K/10K Charity Run. Registration costs $35. The annual event benefits the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
