Don't expect Kelly Cutrone to be shedding tears over the end of MTV's The City—or anything else for that matter. According to New York Magazine's The Cut blog, the boss from haute couture hell not only has a new MTV show in the works, but also a daytime talker!
But of course, one show is not enough to contain Cutrone’s personality; she says she also has a “syndicated daytime regular big thing” in the works. Is she going to be the next Oprah? This is a big jump, she says, crediting the publication of her book If You Have to Cry Go Outside: And Other Things Your Mother Never Told You for the opportunity. “The book really helped. There were a lot of good layers that came together, and I’m trying to make the most of it for me, my family, and my business.”
Hmm, while I've relished watching Cutrone tear one vapid celebutante after another to shreds on Reality TV, I'm not quite sure how she will go with my midday brunch. Plus, her personality doesn't exactly scream "watch me daily, because I'm warm and inviting and want to come into your living rooms" but then maybe that's what American TV needs, someone who isn't trying to hold our collective hand and tell us to get in touch with our feelings? Instead she's saying suck it up, snap out of it and go for what you know—or at the very least stop whining about it! Could be a good look for Cutrone. We shall see.
