Dancing With The Starz: Will Aiden Turner Show It All As New Spartacus?

All My Children fans who have fantasized about what Aiden Turner looks like under a loin cloth may be in luck. Deadline is reporting the soap star-turned-Dancing With The Stars strutter is one of three actors vying for the lead role in Starz's hit series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Turner, along with Stephen Amell (Closing The Ring) and Liam McIntyre (The Pacific) are reportedly all being flown to New Zealand for screen tests and what not. Andy Whitfield, who originated the lead role in the series, vacated the part when his cancer came out of remission.  What do you guys think? Can Brit Turner pull off portraying the Ancient World's most famous Thracian?

I am not 100% sure that he has the acting chops to pull off this role, but I am 100% sure that he will look HOT while attempting to do so!!!!!

OMG my jaw just dropped open. If he doesnt get the part, maybe they could bring him on for another (nakiid) role LOL.

Stephen Amell is hotness on a stick, but he's not edgy enough for this role. so I'd say it's between our Aiden and Liam McIntyre although the role as played by the previous actor doesn't call for much acting chops, just that the guy look good in a loincloth.

No, no and hell no.

First of all, my heart broke for Andy Whitfield when I heard the news. He didn't even seem to get a year of remission before he's fighting for his life again.

'Spartacus' on Starz is just so stellar and bad ass, that the actor that will replace Whitfield, will have to make me either not miss his predecessor acting or looks wise.

The one actor that I do believe could pull it off, is a man named Sam Worthington. He was in 'Terminator Salvation' and 'Avatar'.

Sam Worthington isnt going to sign up for a Starz show though.

I think Aiden could pull it off all you really need to do is look hot shirtless, make the fight scenes believable and sometimes show a little bit of charm and brood a lot. I think he could handle that.

Of the three choices that are mentioned I could see Aidan Turner doing OK in the role just because he is good at brooding and Spartacus broods almost nonstop.

I am really saddened that Andy Whitfield's health won't allow him to continue on the show...he was really good in the part.

If I had my druthers I would offer the gig to Grant Bowler.
