Eric Braeden to Deadline Re: Neil Patrick Harris: "It's Christmastime And I Forgive Him For His Transgression"

Here we go again. The Young and the Restless' Eric Braeden released a statement to Deadline regarding How I Met Your Mother's Neil Patrick Harris slamming Braeden for backing out of his guest spot. Braeden stated:

I have been in this business for 50 years, have seen so many actors come and go -- most of them never to be seen or heard from again. I suggest whoever this young fellow is that he enjoy his success and count his blessings and save his money. My first time on [HIMYM] I enjoyed working with the writers, directors, and crew enormously. However, I did not have the pleasure of meeting most of the cast, including this fellow who put his foot in his mouth by saying what he did. It's Christmastime and I forgive him for his transgression." Braeden says he pulled out of the HIMYM appearance partly due to exhaustion. "I have been overworked at Y&R. I have been doing 40 and 50 pages a day. I was [also] not aware of what they wanted me to do until the day before.

I've lost total and complete respect for Eric Braeden now. If it weren't for the fact that I REALLY love Y&R, I'd stop watching it all together just to punish EB's bloated ego! He needs to learn that the world does not revolve around him and that he's not the Hollywood power broker that he is making himself out to be.\

Have you even tried to eat some crow EB?! Have you ever been humble?! Have you EVER apologized for something you knew darn full well was wrong?! Probably not.

Bwah-hahahahaha! I don't know if Eric Braeden was trying to be funny, but THIS is friggin hilarious. This reply to NPH's tweet is, in my opinion, a little less "laying down the pimp/G hand" than the one from Entertainment Weekly. I can see both sides, but IMO Eric B (lol!) gets cool points for a more dignified comment besides terms of endearment like D-bag. And for being charitable during this holiday season!

I swear if this were any funnier, I'd think Eric B and NPH made this whole beef up!

So EB If You "Forgive" NPH and IMHO NPH Doesnt Need Forgiveness. Cool EB Than Just Drop It

Now you know Eric B likes to run to every media outlet when he feels the least bit slighted Wink

Eric,

Gotta love him for basically saying "If it weren't Christmastime, I'd beat you like you stole something, boy!"

I wonder if Eric pays ANY attention to pop culture at all. If so, he'd know that Neil has been around for a long time and is hardly the ONE HIT WONDER that he makes him out to be.

Clearly, he's never heard of DOUGIE HOWSER!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did anyone bother to think that Eric Braeden is not going to various media outlets but that they are coming to him?

NPH slammed Braeden without having all the facts and forcing Braeden to defend himself.

Why do people continue to over look the fact that Braeden is recovering from hip surgery and is probably in pain and is not getting around easily?

Doesn't it make sense that he might not feel up to schlepping around to deliver two lines when he is still recuperating but also holding down a full time job?

Does anyone here understand how painful Braeden's recuperation might be?

NPH is a jerk. He didn't bother to understand why Braeden had to pull out and shamelessly attacked Braeden.

This will turn into another "exclusive interview" tour by EB...just like his little dust-up with Sony TV...yawn! Just STHU and enjoy your Christmastime, Eric

NPH is more well known than EB. While I'm certain that EB had a lot of pain after his surgery and is still recovering. However recuperating from hip surgery actually isn't as bad as recuperating from knee surgery. Team NPH!!

If he simply needed time off to recuprerate from surgery, he would've said that, instead of dissing the part for how small it was.

I stand by this, my original comment in the original thread:

Hans Gudegast as John Jacob Astor in Titanic (1997).
Mr. Astor sent down with the ship in 1912. Too bad Mr. Gudegast didn't try out some method acting, then we'd be free of him!

Mr. Gudegast also has a credit listing in IMDB as Bruce Ismay in The Titanic Chronicles (1999). Unfortunately, Mr. Ismay did not go down with his ship.
