HomeTVThe Bold and the BeautifulDC EXCLUSIVE: Y&R’s Michelle Stafford Talks Hosting ACME Saturday Night and Desire to Have “Funny Babies” With Ricky Gervais Jamey Giddens February 23, 2011 3 Comments Look out ACME Comedy Theatre, I don’t think y’all are ready for this one! One of daytime’s most brazen, hilarious and talented stars, Michelle Stafford (Phyllis, The Young and the Restless), is set to host ACME Saturday Night this weekend. I caught up with The Staff, who gave me a few silly answers to my silly questions. Daytime Confidential: While managing to be a ferocious, dramatic anti-heroine on The Young and the Restless, Phyllis is also one of daytime’s funniest characters. Who are some of your comedic influences? Michelle Stafford: Ricky Gervais; I want to marry him and have funny babies with him. DC: Several of your soap peers, like Christian Le Blanc and Eden Riegel, have hosted ACME Saturday Night. Have you compared notes with them? MS: Yes, with Christian. He may have more Emmy’s than I do, but I plan to be funnier than he was! DC: What kind of sketches have you and the ACME Comedy team worked on? MS: Very, very, very funny ones! DC: Do you think your daytime fans will be surprised by what they see Saturday night at ACME? MS: No, although they may be surprised to see my third nipple. DC: Speaking of surprises, Phyllis is currently helping Jack (Peter Bergman) and Adam (Michael Muhney) save her arch nemesis Sharon (Sharon Case). As the performer, what is motivating Phyllis’ efforts on Sharon’s behalf? MS: Cash…always the cold hard cash, baby! Be sure to check out The Staff at 7 pm PST, this Saturday, Feb. 26 at ACME Comedy Theatre, located at 135 N. La Brea Ave in Hollywood. Not in SoCal? Watch the show streamed live at www.acmecomedy.com! 3 Responses alstonboy4315 February 23, 2011 Awwww suki suki now…………… Me likey……………. If I had to describe Phyllis I would go with ruthless bitch (btw I love this character, lol).
