HomeTVDays of Our LivesDays of Our Lives’ Shelley Hennig to Play the Head Witch on The CW’s Secret Circle! Jamey Giddens March 18, 2011 Days of Our Lives, The Secret Circle, TV 11 Comments Remember yesterday when I told you a former West Coast soap ingenue had booked a high profile drama pilot? Well, our pals at Zap2it are now confirming ex-Days of Our Lives beauty Shelley Hennig (ex-Stephanie) has joined the pilot for The CW's Secret Circle! Hennig will play the head of a powerful, prep school witches' coven, who befriends protagonist Cassie (Britt Robertson) on the supernatural sudser from Kevin Williamson (Vampire Diaries) and Andrew Miller (Imaginary Bitches), based on the YA novels from L.J. Smith. In other Secret Circle, casting news, Zap2it also confirmed Smallville's Jessica Parker Kennedy will be playing another of the witchy women named Melissa in the pilot. Can't. Wait. For. This. Show! Photo by PR Photos 11 Responses capwell March 18, 2011 Jamey, are there going to be any soap vets on the upcoming Good Christian Bitches? That’s the show I can’t wait to see. The name alone has me salivating in anticipation. Log in to Reply marknsprmo March 18, 2011 The plot sounds an awful lot like the movie The Craft. Well I wish Shelley a good run. I hope she can create some heat on this show. She wasn’t able to in her exceptionally long run on Days…… Log in to Reply stephanieleo March 18, 2011 OK She get a job right away nice but Shelly is not a good actress she was a snooze on days of our lives. Log in to Reply angrierblackerman March 18, 2011 Uh…I would have been happier if it was Melissa Claire Egan on an actual promising show. A mediocre actress gets a pilot for a bad show on a struggling network. She’s young and pretty, at least that gets you work. Log in to Reply Scout March 18, 2011 Damn, I was hoping for news on an actual actress and a show that might have something for grownups. Oh well… Log in to Reply Brando628 March 18, 2011 Well that’s a completely RUDE thing to say. Did you see her scenes when Nathan dumped her? She was amazing. And she’s EMMY nominated. You’re a jerk. Log in to Reply Scout March 18, 2011 Then you don’t have very high standards for actresses, do you? I’m not the only one who doesn’t care for her “acting,” asshole, and I’m glad her and Nathan are both going away. As for her Emmy nom, well, this website has proven to us over and over that damn near any nitwit can be nominated for a daytime Emmy. Natalia Livingston, anyone? Log in to Reply Brando628 March 18, 2011 I wasn’t even talking to you “asshole”! if this web site knew how to arrange its comments, you could’ve been able to tell I was replying to what stephanieleo said. But I’m glad I was able to give you the chance to be an asshole. I’m sure that makes you feel good about yourself. Log in to Reply Scout March 18, 2011 You’re the one who resorted to name calling over Shelley Hennig, so off that high horse you go. Next time, name check who you’re calling a jerk, asshole. Log in to Reply Brando628 March 19, 2011 I wasn’t talking to you. Why is that so hard to understand? Log in to Reply Eleonora87 March 20, 2011 I’m happy for her. If she’s playing the head of the coven, then I guess she’s Diana (who I think was Blonde in the books. But then again, so was Elena from Vampire Diaries). I’m so excited for this show, I loved the books so much when I was younger that I read them over multiple times. Also, regarding her being a “mediocre actress”, so were A LOT of people on Days until they moved on to other projects: i.e. Austin Peck, Brandon Beemer. Don’t get me wrong, I love Days and have since I was a kid, but sometimes it just sucks the life out of certain actors.
