HomeTVABCGH’s Jonathan Jackson on Filming Jake’s Death: “Probably The Hardest Day I Ever Had” Jillian Bowe March 24, 2011 10 Comments Entertainment Weekly chatted with General Hospital star Jonathan Jackson about taping the scene where his alter ego learns of his adopted son's death. The actor opens up about the emotions on the set. Was that a hard scene to film? There was absolutely insane amounts of intensity that day. Everyone was feeling it. It was a very heavy feeling on the set. It was filmed in one day, from morning til late afternoon. The filming of it went on and on. We had to go there, to that [emotional] place, and keep coming back to it after breaks. In terms of sustaining the emotion, it was probably the hardest day I ever had. I was pretty wiped out by the end of it. We all were. 10 Responses jlafferty23 March 24, 2011 Sounds like this story really got to alot of the actors. Jonathan Jackson has got another emmy in lock IMO. He was amazing. Log in to Reply giogio March 24, 2011 You can see in his eyes the emotion. Yesterday the New York Post had a big article about the Jake storyline and how fans were outraged. Ive never seen anything about soaps in NY Post, except if its really big news. My husband has cancer so that storyline hit him hard. I felt really bad for the actors in those scenes. Log in to Reply giogio March 24, 2011 lindajeansantana – Im so sorry to hear that. That is exactly what I was talking about to a friend last week. What about the poor person who may have just buried a child today, or someone is sick or hospitalized. They turn their tv on and see this. Yes, it is fiction and a tv show, but its an on going 40 plus year every day saga. Way different than a 2 hour fiction movie. Or for that matter a TV show that is on only once a week. I never tell anyone to stop watching, buy maybe you should stay away from it for a few weeks. My good thoughts are with you. He continues to remind me of why he always has been, and always will be, my favorite Lucky Spencer. Tyler Christopher—TAKE NOTES!! This guy is a REAL professional!!! Log in to Reply bishbay March 24, 2011 I hate this storyline passionately, but…I’m watching GH for the first time in six months. Well-played, Frons. Well-played indeed. Of course, it’s moving so fast that I’ll be able to stop watching again in a matter of days, since Joselyn will be celebrating her ten-year remission anniversary next month at this rate. Log in to Reply Cyberologist March 24, 2011 I would like the storyline if it was written with Elizabeth and Carly as the main focus it its being promoted and who pops up front and center? Jason Morgan and who is all in it ?? So Jason hears from Steve who Carly asks Jason to ask Lucky to ask ELizabeth? Jonathan was written another emmy reel so what else is new? He gets the writing always have. Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel Reply You must be logged in to post a comment.
