Susan Lucci Visits The View On Wednesday

Soap legend Susan Lucci stops by The View tomorrow. The All My Children veteran will talk to the ladies about her book, All My Life: A Memoir and no doubt do damage control for that two-faced Brian Frons. The View airs 11 AM EST on ABC.

She was bought off, so off course she is selling the Alphabet point of view. I bet she is ecstatic AMC was cancelled, she finally gets that nightime career!

I doubt VERY seriously that Susan Lucci was "brought off" or that she's ecstatic that this show is going off the air. She's played this role for over 40 years, and she's a MULTIMILLIONAIRE who really doesn't need to work, so if she no longer wanted to play the role of Erica Kane, she could have simply retired like David Canary did. Why would she want to push this show into the ground or see it fail??

I think people need to stop giving Lucci such a hard time. She is not the one who pushed OLTL and AMC into their collective graves. Blame for THAT lies elsewhere!!

I still love and support Lucci, and will follow her wherever she goes from this point forward.

I really don't think Susan Lucci was bought off. I have heard so much about her bad acting, I personally disagree, but I don't think she could fake those tears if she was such a bad actress and it seems quite clear she would not want egg on her face but ABC has treated her badly in many ways - if you accept she deserves her millions she was treated badly in that she wasn't treated decently to be forewarned of the impending end of AMC and then left jobless. Sure she is just another employee but she gave her life to ABC; yes she did become rich and somewhat famous. But the notion that ABC paid her off with a night time career in her "senior" years has yet to be seen. Also, anyone who knows anything Susan was hot in the 1980's and 1990's okay even in the early 2000 and certainly the icon, the Liz Taylor of daytime. She could have left and done her multitude of top ten or at least top twentyh movies. Done sitcoms, dramas and maybe even a silver screen movie. But she respected her genre and fellow artists and stayed with daytime. She didn't treat it as a stepping stone or something to fall back on like Michael E Knight, Deidre Hall, Kristian Alfonso, or even the one time big time night stars like Patrick Duffy, John James, Joan Van Ark all who turned to daytime but nearly with the cache of Lucci who has with stood the test of time remaining an icon and daytime superstar. While stars like Kelly Monacco, Martha Byrne, Cady McLain, Andrea Evans, all rose to prominscence they fell. Lucci stood a star at all times. She was sought after for Dallas and SNL which is hard for any star to say let alone a daytime star.

Now it is over and she appears to be down and out. The rumours shot down time after time about her going to Desperate Housewives and if it is true well why not? She has comedic talent noted in SNL, Hot In Cleveland, Hope and Faith. heck she has dramatic talent if the world can stop thinking of her as Erica Kane (I don't think she is a bad actress; she is Erica kane and good or bad that is a fact that society has to deal with - we saw that in Dancing with the Stars the judges and public expected Erica kane. Susan Lucci is nice, boring - married to the same guy for over 40 years, not particularly interesting or scandalous. People just love picking on her. Is she the best actress probably not. Worst no i doubt it. She survived over 40 years on tv and had numerous movies that were successes - and if we think not too hard the roles have show her abilit - remember Anastasia where many wondered which one was Lucci? Or Mafia Princess where she scarily played a teenager at one point with such accuracy then adult years.

If anything ABC owes its loyal, dedicated, ABC promoting star a little "senior" gift. It has been earned. Like Lucci or not she gave ABC her dedication and star power. Now she deserves the respect.

It's nice to see these comments about Susan Lucci. She is always a class act. It always makes me a little sad when people enjoy tearing down obvious successes such as Lucci and Oprah. It says more about the author than it does about the subject.

Thank you, alstonboy4315 I agree, AMC has been her life's work so you can tell she has deep love for AMC and Anges Nixon. She possibly feels a since of relief of having to carry the show over the last 5 years and working with inapt hacks because she was still AMC's brand so the pressure is somewhat off her shoulders. I want Susan Lucci on my TV and if that is ABC in prime-time so be it I will watch. wouldn't it be a kick if ABC decided to move Erica and Jack to Wisteria Lane...we could wish and the promotion the Mouse House could use!!!

PS...I am very intrigued Shock more and more with Susan's storyline. After all the disasters with the past 2 years of doppelgangers, DID and not wanting this storyline but just maybe it going to take a Susan Lucci to pull it off. Regardless, like or dislike with Anges and Lorraine tweaking the storyline this could be fun and at LEAST this is a storyline Erica has not done for the millionth time of rehash and Susan could truly have fun doing this storyline like this one because it is fresh. Just tear it up Susan!!!

She also gave us some news. The final AMC is September 23rd. That will be a double-hanky day for me, because it's the birthday of one of my friends who loved AMC and died 20 years ago. Sad

I love laLucci but I am boycotting all ABC shows but our soaps, so watching the view just isn't happening.
