Alicia Minshew Denies She's Bolting From All My Children Once It Goes Online

Alicia Minshew (Kendall) spoke out to Soap Opera Digest on my Rumor Report that she isn't likely to stick with the series once it moves online.

"I have made absolutely no decision about appearing on ALL MY CHILDREN after its last TV episode because I know nothing!" the actress tells Digest. "I have not been spoken to at all [by the show's new owners, Prospect Park] and I have not told anyone that I am leaving. I don't know where that came from. The same story said that I'm tired of commuting between New York and L.A. For the record, I am not tired of commuting because I have never commuted — I live in Los Angeles now! I really do appreciate that people are taking an interest in me and Kendall and the future of the show," she adds. "But if they want to know, they should ask me!"

Yowser! I guess she told me. It looks like Ms. Minshew is as fiery as the heroine she plays. I love it and I sincerely hope she does prove my source wrong and sticks it out in Pine Valley.com!

This is good news for AMC. This could go LOOOOONG way to have AM and Kendall on canvas...especially if La Lucci decides not go with Prospect Park Shock Smile Wink

This is why people need to go to the actor/actress themselves instead of stirring the pot and posting false rumors.

It's getting harder & harder to take DC seriously anymore

MadDogLane, uh, generally when my reports are denied, they prove true. I ran the item as a rumor and said "likely." I have broken 99 percent of the stories concerning ABC Daytime, and 99 percent have proven true. If you have a hard time taking us seriously, don't visit. We didn't tell you that you had to sign on. Soap Opera Weekly, Digest, In Depth, etc. have all jumped the gun on reports, but when have you seen any of them own up to it like I do. We are not required reading, if you find my site that intolerable, again, don't read it.

Does anybody else find it strange that the TV version of the show is ending in EIGHT weeks and nobody has said anything to her yet?

Well AMC is dark Til Monday

I think NYP broke the PP deal too soon

I never believed the sept 26 start date

Both starting in Jan 2012 will give PP the time they need plus be a great PR move to bring these two shows together. Hopefully tons of Publicity

So no im not surprised they havent heard yet

If I was PP i set up the crew and writers/producers first

Like (on-screen)mother like (on-screen)daughter? I kid of course, b/c I'ma go ahead and believe (despite you great track record Jamey) that they really don't have no idea what is going on.

But like what was mentioned on a recent podcast, these actors need to do a lot of thinking. Unless you are a former Hollywood star slumming it on TV or a young kid who can play "pretty face #2" on one of those retched teen shows, you are not guaranteed a sure bet. If you want to continue to have an immediate steady (considerably less) paycheck, you better sign on that dotted line.

Any actor who decides to jump ship needs to think long and hard before they walk away from their job. Even with a significant decrease in pay, these actors need to realize that they are not likely to make it big in primetime and/or film, and they will still be doing FAR better than many of their contemporaries who are only lucky enough to get two or three guest starring roles a year on random TV shows, or their theater and Broadway counterparts, most of whom barely make enough to pay the rent.

A small paycheck is still better than no paycheck at all.

Break it DOWN, Alstonboy! This is why I firmly believe that at least 60% of the cast will make the jump. When the shows were still canceled, most of them weren't gonna be getting a paycheck, anyway. Plus, if this PP deal works and the shows return to at least half of their former glory, all those same stars that bolt will be dying to come back...

IA, most of the stars have family obligations, so the steady paycheck is essential! I also think the online shows won't be 52 weeks a year, so they'll have opportunities to do other things to offset the smaller PP salary.

Please do us all a favor and go back to Soap Central with the rest of the Republican soccer moms. Maybe you can take things on that site more seriously?

I think the people that believe these vets (even the two and three year vets like Mark Lawson from 'One Life to Live') are in serious denial if they believe they'll continue with the online versions of the shows.

They're the same people that, 3-6 months ago, refused to believe the rumors that the shows were going to be cancelled.

After losing my beloved 'Santa Barbara,' 'Guiding Light,' As the World Turns,' 'All My Children,' and 'One Life to Live' (I never watched 'Port Charles'), from here on out I am only expecting THE WORST.

I'm Confused. All I can say is if no one has talked to the major stars of the soap about staying or going, this show's not very organized!
