Alison Sweeney Nabs August Cover of SELF Magazine

Soap fans and reality lovers might recognize the pretty face and svelte figure on the cover of the August issue of SELF Magazine. Yep, that's none other than Days of Our Lives star and The Biggest Loser host Alison Sweeney, who dishes about how hosting Loser has helped her be a winner at keeping the pounds off.  Here's a snippet on how Sweeney finally begin gaining control of her battle of the bulge back in 1999:

I put up and shut up.

"In my early 20s, I'd eat a tub of lowfat ice cream and be like, 'Why am I having weight problems?' Dave, my husband, whom I was dating then, finally said, 'Why do you complain? You're beautiful already, but if you want to do something about it, do it. You pursue your career, but you don't attack your weight.' It was loving but an eye-opener. That was when I turned things around."

Wait a sec…So if it says lowfat, I can't eat the whole carton of ice cream?! Maybe I need to go on one of those fat porn shows? Check out more of Sweeney's interview at SELF

I thought “Fat Sami” added to her evilness in the 90s. She also had really thick eyebrows! Man, she was vicious back then. PLEASE go back to that Sami, Days!

Allison Sweeney has never looked better. I applaud her desire to tone up and lose weight not only for the aesthetic benefits but to serve as a role model for what one can accomplish when they make the choice to live a healthier life. Too often people think that stars lose weight for vanity purposes only, but that’s only one piece of the puzzle. It boosts your confidence, lowers your risks for heart related illnesses, gives you more energy and vitality and it enhances so many other things.

I have never been obese or overweight, but I know it’s not easy to make that commitment.

    Kudos to her.

I totally agree with AlistarCrane, there was something about “Fat Sami” that made her a force. However, that’s a “character” and it’s so great to see AS looking so healthy and fit. Maybe they could “pad” her up? If they could dress her as a man, why not a fat suit?
