Wishful Casting: Singing Soap Stars Who Would (Country) Rock a TV Adaptation of John Schlimm's Novel 'Twang'

DePaiva's hunky OLTL costar Josh Kelly would be great as Salome's son Ashley Field, a gorgeous blonde, B-list actor out in Hollywood, desperate to screw his way onto the A-List. If only his mama would stop stealing his spotlight, not to mention his headlines.

Soap alum-turned-country music sensation Laura Bell Bundy (ex-Marah, Guiding Light) could slip into glamorous country-pop crossover starlet Hope Tanner's evening gowns with no problem, while General Hospital's Scott Reeves, who was also part of the popular duo Blue Country, could don the boots of Hope's driven husband Thad Evans, who would rather be out on the road or producing the next smash hit CD, than living a life of faux domestic contentment at home in Nashville with Hope.

Last but not least, I would absolutely love to see that hysterical hot mess Tuc Watkins (One Life to Live, Desperate Housewives) as Nashville gossip columnist Billie Blotter, who is skulking around town, digging up dirt on all the stars under the guise of penning a "tribute" book about country's greatest stars, when all along he's really writing a scathing tabloid tome.

Who would you guys cast in a TV version of Twang or one of your favorite novels? Haven't read Twang yet? Download a copy here.
