I can't wait! I love Sonya Eddy and I love Glee....and it would be perfect casting to have her as Mercedes' mom.

Love her! Love Glee, although it's been a bit "off" lately in my opinion. Perhaps Ms. Eddy can show her skills more than on GH, where the writers haven't know what to do with her character other than much-neeed comic relief from the multiple serial killers on the canvas.

I still have a recurring fantasy of an angry Epiphany pummeling a certain greasy thug mobster into the ground on GH...Boy would I tune in live for that one!

Love it! I hope they let her sing. I loved when she sang What Becomes of the Broken Hearted on Night Shift.

I still have those classic Seinfeld episodes in which she played Rebecca De Mornay, the clerk from a charity organization. Those have got to be some of the funniest sitcom episodes filmed in the nineties. Gold!

I saw her in another comedy primetime show last week. She played a teacher and I remember thinking that I hope this is a recurring role because she was excellent in it. Congratulations to Sonya!!!

soapfan616-I would love to see that Epiphany/greasy thug mobster scenario play out also. I am looking forward to her appearance... Innocent

I met Ms Eddy in 2007 at Disney California Adventure. She was fantastically gracious to this GH fan.
Bets wishes to her always!

Ok I'm sure what I'm about to say will be contreversial, but why can't they cast a fit black person on Glee? Mercedes is overwieght, so is her new boyfirend and now this modern day mammie that is a walking talkig stereo type. A few years ago I turned on GH and saw this woman on there and I was disgusted and turned it off. It almost seems as if the tv world is racially regressing. Back in the 80's and 90's there were so many positive black characters on tv, you had Angie and Jessie on AMC in the daytime and in primetime you had shows like The Cosby Show, Family Matter, Different World and many more.

I saw her on an older episode of Everyone Hates Chris last night on the Nick at Nite channel. She played a DMV worker, and I swear she was like Epiphany even then! Anyway, I've never had the desire to watch Glee, but good for her!!!

Really wanted to ignore the race card, but its just dumb. So they cast a bigger black woman and that is something to complain about?! Unbelievable. I would think that is something great!

I can sort of kind of see where you're going with the comment, cheesehead, until you get to the part where you turned off GH because of this actress's size. W. T. F. Really? I mean...it's not like you're saying you want a diversity of body types, you're admitting that only one--slender/athletic--is acceptable. Just kind of demolishes your point and explodes your credibility on the matter.

cheesehead, if you're making a point, it's kind of hard to detect. If Sonya is being typecast at all (and I just don't see it), it's as the "sassy black woman" rather than the "mammy".
