Yes my Y&R was an utter mess and I agree w/ Jamey & Jillian MAB needs to kick rocks! Ron & Frank would make Y&R the ish! One Life was the best simply the best! Here hoping 2012 will be a great year for Daytime and wishing General Hospital all the best over there! Log in to Reply Cyberologist December 21, 2011 Poor Luke lost it over Gagin Wolf…. Log in to Reply SoapArmageddon December 21, 2011 This was the year that I gave up on Y&R. I came to the realization that force of habit is not a good enough reason to tolerate the blatant lack of respect they have been showing to longtime viewers of this show in countless ways: 1. Lip service to diversity and stereotyping of minorities 2. The intellectual assassination of Sharon 3. The glorification of Phyllis’ slutbaggery 4. The one-notedness of Victor 5. The uselessness of Jack 6. Failing to use Jess Walton properly 7. The misuse of Maura West 8. The snatch and grab hiring of Genie Francis for the purpose of playing a caricature 9. Washed up prime-time actors and reality show rejects 10. Resurrecting Cane 11. Making Kevin and Chloe a couple with the romantic chemistry of Donny and Marie Osmond 12. Halfheartedly telling the story of Nina’s reunion with her longlost son. That’s it. I’m keeping my list at twelve for the twelve days of Christmas. The damned head writer’s utter incompetence sent our poor Luke over the edge (as we heard in the podcast!) Log in to Reply Smitty December 21, 2011 Worst Soap: Hands down Y&R!!!! I have never in my life stopped watching this show until this year. This show is a mess. Watching yesterday’s episode I was just floored at how bad that episode was. It’s beyond ridiculous and they have a plethora of characters that need to go. Avery, Tucker, Sofia, Cane, Angelo, Angelina, and Genaura could all leave tomorrow and none of them would be missed. It disgusting what MAB has done to Bill Bell’s legacy. To sideline your leading lady for almost six months is dumb damn dumb! They need to cancel Y&R and put it out of it’s misery. Hamner, Hogan and MAB are horrible writers and just aren’t working for this show. Bring back Kay Alden and Jack Smith!
