General Hospital: Perkie's Observations

Kate gets to her office to find Sonny waiting for her.  He demands to know what’s going on.  He says he’s called her a bunch of times and she’s not being straight with him.  Sonny says if she’s worried about Jax, he’s decided to let it go, even though he won’t’ forget what Jax did to him.

Monica wants to know which of her staff members has done something criminal.  Maxie says it’s Liz, but claims she doesn’t want to get Liz in trouble.  Maxie says Liz stole drugs to help Lucky, which caused him to relapse.  Monica points out that these are serious charges and asks if she has proof.

Ewen asks to make the benefit an actual date.  Liz accepts.  Matt shows up and wants to speak with Liz.  He asks her to go to the benefit with him. Liz is thrilled to be asked out twice in half an hour.

Michael’s waiting to meet a tutor at Kelly’s.  Shawn tells him again that he should cut Carly some slack. He understands that Michael is protective of his mother, because he doesn’t think anyone is good enough for her.   Michael says it’s not his place to judge his mother’s decisions, no matter how bad.  Michael’s tired of waiting for his tutor so gives Shawn a message if they show up. Shawn admits he’s the tutor.

Shawn explains that he was once a teacher and that he’s now tutoring for PCU.  Michael says he’s going back to school and will let Shawn know if he wants his help.

Carly and Johnny continue to make out, but Carly stops. She doesn’t think they haven’t thought this through.  Johnny just wants someone to be with.  Carly says she wants to stop him from self destructing, but Johnny wonders if there’s really something going on.  They start to make out again.

Sam yells at Jason who eventually comes to.  Jason doesn’t want to go to the hospital, but Sam begs him to go, for her and the baby.

Patrick invites Mac to dinner on Sunday, claiming it’s a surprise for Robin and that even Emma has been sworn to secrecy.

Carly stops the kissing a second time, even though she loves that Johnny is pursuing her. She doesn’t want to start a war with Sonny, she’s caused enough problems. Carly says she doesn’t want to make the same mistakes. She can’t find a man as good as Jax and she messed that up.  Johnny asks if she wants to leave, but she says she doesn’t know what she wants.  They kiss, until Michael knocks on the door.

Carly hides and listens as Michael tells Johnny he’s changed his mind about working for the Zaccharas.  Michael thanks Johnny for listening. He says he’s going to honor Abby and he’s enrolled at PCU.  After he’s leaves, Carly thanks Johnny for being the voice of reason for Michael.  Carly decides to leave, before they do something they’ll regret.  Johnny asks if she’s shutting the door on them for good, but she says no.  After she leaves, she listens to her voice messages, which includes one from Shawn asking to be her date for the benefit.

Liz says Ewen invited her to the benefit, but Matt tells her to get out of it. He claims he doesn’t want her to be hurt, since they don’t know anything about Ewen.  Liz admits that Matt is attractive, but not single.  Matt says he just broke up with Maxie for good and that Liz kept coming between them.

Liz apologizes if she did anything, but Matt assures her that it’s all on Maxie thinking Liz was stealing him away.  Matt says Liz listens and understands.  Liz admits they have been spending lots of time together.

Liz wonders if Matt is asking her out to spite Maxie. He claims it’s because he wants to.  Liz says they’re good friends and she doesn’t want him five minutes after he’s dumped Maxie.  She doesn’t want to be the reason he broke up with Maxie. Nor does she want to be the rebound girl.  Liz tells Matt not to give up on Maxie just yet.  He offers to drive her back to the hospital.

Monica is surprised that Liz would confess this to Maxie, but Maxie claims Liz admitted this to her when they were being held by the drug dealers.  Monica reminds her that she was involved with Lucky the last time drugs went missing. She wonders why Maxie is telling her now.  Maxie claims she no longer wants to be selfish and wants to be a better person. She has decided to be honest.  Monica says she’ll look into it.  Maxie snarks that she’ll feel bad if Liz has to pay.

At the hospital, Liz spots Maxie. She tells Matt to talk to her.  He tries, but a guilty Maxie blows him off.  Monica confronts Liz and says they need to talk.

Patrick examines Jason.  Sam explains that she found him collapsed. Jason claims he remembers nothing after having tried to open the balcony door.  Sam asks about the swelling on the brain and Patrick says he’ll check the test results.

Sonny says he was angry when Brenda left, but Kate picked him up and got him to face his past.  He says this was his best Christmas. He thinks things are changing for the better.  Kate says they might have a problem because she’s falling in love with him again.

Sonny says he doesn’t want to lose her again.  Kate doesn’t want the past to get in the way. She needs to face her demons.  Sonny says he’ll do everything to protect her. He’ll be there for her.  She gets a phone call, but it’s a hang up.  When Sonny leaves, she gets another call and is shocked by what the person tells her.

Patrick comes back with the test results and says the symptoms are not going away.  Sam asks if Jason will need another surgery.  Patrick says it’s inoperable.

I kept seeing comments from a couple of LizFF boards that said my girl was all happy and smiling today with Ewan and watched the scenes on YT. It is hard to believe that this gorgeous lady has NOT been out on a date in two years.

Here's hoping that Matt goes back to Maxie since he's a little too immature for Liz and reminds me way too much of Lucky.

Maxie thy name is hypocrite! Ugh. For a woman that traded pills for sex it's time for Liz to kick Maxie's butt. I never wanted Liz to help Lucky with his drug investigation in the first place, because it was obvious that once the dust cleared she was going to be the one to pay the price while Lucky walked away with clean hands.

I fast forwarded through Jason and Sam. Maxie doesn't really think things through. She just made Liz the victim. Matt will so want to be in Liz's corner and it made her actions even worse that she was telling monica that Liz needs the job to support her kids. So, you understand that you are screwing over children but it is okay because you tell Monica that Liz needs money and a job. I get how come Sam and Maxie like one another. Neither cares about children at all. I am ashamed of Monica.

I don't see any chemistry with johnny and Carly but I sure like when he is on my screen. New writers? Are they rescuing Michael from stupidity and angst in time for Starr Manning?

This is so mean, but I laughed when Patrick told Jason his tumor was inoperable.

Today's show was full of soapy goodness (with the exception of Sonny and Kate).

Maxie was oh so wrong for what she did, but this is a soap, and apparently the writers must have decided to make Maxie the bad girl yet again. For some reason today Maxie reminded me of Lucy Coe from way back in the day.

Matt interrupting Elizabeth and Ewen was kind of dodgy. I was so glad when she told him she didn't want to get out of her date with Ewen.

How any woman can kiss on Sonny just mere minutes after him demanding to know where she is every minute of every day is beyond me. That is one sick relationship.

Carly and Johnny were kind of hot and yet funny today. I like the friendship aspect of their relationship, but I'm sure when he finds out she inadvertently set the whole Claudia reveal into motion that the friendship probably won't last.

As a straight woman I am comfortable enough with my sexuality to say that RH/Liz is FINE! Dare I say it, but Carly and Johnny are hot together, I was rooting for her with Shawn, but when is the last time GH had an interracial pairing..Molly and TJ don't count as one yet. I am sooooooo beyond tired of Sonny and Kate, must they be on everyday geeze louise. When Patrick told JaSam that Jason can't be operated on and then SBu looked all constipated and what not my roommate let out a "DUN DUN DUN" and I burst out laughing. I can't wait until Ron's stuff starts, did anyone else notice David Kreizman in the credits as writer? When did this happen, is he the notorious "Killer Kreizman"...that sure would explain a lot

Maxie, Maxie, Maxie. First of all, I don't like Jen Lily's portrayal of the character. Gone is the quirky, snarky, but lovable Maxie, and here to stay, I guess, is just a selfish, mean little twit--with absolutely no heart, what so ever.

What she did to Liz was mean, and yes it was hypocritical. I don't like Maxie any more.

However. H-O-W-E-V-E-R. However. Liz made a mistake. Actually, she made two mistakes. The first one of course, was to steal the drugs--however noble her intentions. The second (and for Liz, the stupidest mistake) was to trust Maxie with the information. And Maxie ratted.

This begs the obvious question, "Does Liz deserve the punishment that no doubt, Monica will mete out, and if so, is Monica a worthless, hypocritical bitch for doling it out because again, obviously, she does not like Liz?" Yes and No.

Yes, Liz deserves to be suspended (or worse) from here job. Unlike all the lucky mobbies running a muck, she's someone with a high degree of chargeability, and so, is beholden to a certain trust that carries with it harsh penalties for the types of mistakes she's made. She knew that when she became a nurse, and she knew that when she took the meds.

No, Monica is not just a nasty old witch with a personal vendetta. As a matter of fact, I think she did a fair job of uncovering Maxie's duplicitous motives for spilling the beans. Unfortunately for Monica and Liz, Monica has a moral and ethical responsibility to act on the information that Maxie gave her. She HAS to follow policy.

Fans always talk about wanting General Hospital versus "General Mobstipal."
Here it is, folks.

Edited to add: My condolences to JI

OMG. HOLD THE PHONE. Is it just me or was Liz actually portrayed as the sweet, smiling, beautiful Elizabeth we all miss so much. I don't want to speak to soon... but is there light at the end of this tunnel??

For now Im just going to say this - liz charted the wrong meds and nearly killed a patient and the penalty I think was nothing, then she switched the meds in the OR on shiobhan and nearly killed her and all it got her was a suspension, then she stole the meds for lucky, and then she violated Jasons privacy and read his medical records without permission. ONE of those things should have gotten her suspended, the second violation IRL should have gotten her fired. Do I hate that the male characters always skate? Sure. Am I wild about Maxie in all of this? No. But I dont get bashing Monica in all this for doing her job (other than everything Liz does smells like roses and anyone that calls her on it apparently has to be the villain).

As for Liz, she knew the ramifications. personally this is one of the rare times I actually think she did the right thing, but she forgot to rub her two brain cells together before she made the decision to blabbing the truth all over the place. (unlike say sam/spin/winnie who broke in to the fbi, got the evidence so that spin didnt go to jail, got out and had the good sense not to take out a billboard so that they didnt end up going to pentonville. ) Oh and btw if maxie is heartless about children because she didnt consider how mom would pay the bills before getting her fired, what was liz when she spent their trust fund. please dont go there. the idea that ever character on a soap that has a kid is off limits vs. childless kids is bunk. she was wrong because it was spiteful, period, whether liz has children or not.

If you stand there and say that Liz needs her job because she has kids and throw her under a bus anyway, that makes you heartless where the kids are concerned. And, a perfect cohort for someone who would hold guns on children.

Monica is just believing Maxie regardless of knowing she is a spiteful bitch? Agenda? Yup!!!

tealita - Yes, I want General Hospital and not Sonny, Jason, and the womb. I have no problem with Liz having to face consequences for her actions. I would certainly love it if everyone else would face consequences as well. Luke ran down a child. Lucky was on drugs and somehow blamed Liz and left town. Maxie is hanging with a killer and accepting his protection while covering his crimes. Sonny and Jason are killers. The womb is a killer and a con. Monica has committed her share of bad deeds. Need I go on? Sure, Liz needs to be the one character who should be punished. WTF?

I don't blame Monica here either. She has an obligation now to look into the matter and dole out the punishment. Maxie certainly did her best to seem as though she didn't really want to give Monica the information despite our knowledge that she was likely giddy about getting one over on Liz.

I also agree that Jen Liley, really has turned Maxie into a miserable shrew with no layers, no vulnerabilities, no redeeming qualities.

I hate this whole Jason story. I hate that they're saying whatever is inoperable, like I'm supposed to beleive for half a second that Jason is dying. I hate that Sam is sucked into the vortex of Jason. I don't care one iota about a JaSam baby, from Jason's end of things, but I was liking Sam with her Alexis and Molly and the happyness at a Cassadine offspring. But all that goes out the window so we can have another, stupid Jason/braiin nonsense story.

If my boyfriend followed me to chicago and accused me of lying to him, then waited for me in my office to accuse me again, i would kick him in the family jewels so hard, his kids would be born with a headache. Then I'd toss him out on his ear. There are no redeeming qualities in Sonny, that I've seen, that would counteract this douchey obsessive crap.

Did Kate give the name Connie to whoever on the other end of the line, or a different name altogether.

I liked that CarJohn stopped, but that the door isn't closed on them entirely. There is no way that I can see her with Shawn now.

I like that Michael has suddenly grown a brain and is going back to shcool.

Maxie is a miserable, selfish, hypocritical, conniving b*tch. I find it funny that she always calls Liz weak and needy and says that Liz has to have a man at all times. Maxie is willing to hurt Liz and her kids just because her boyfriend dumped her. How weak and needy is that? And I don't think that the trust fund story compares here because Liz was making an investment she learned about from someone she trusted (her brother) and never meant to blow the money. Was it a smart choice to use all of the money? No. Was it malicious? No. And even though that money was gone, she was still able and willing to work to provide for her kids. In this situation, Maxie knows that Liz needs her job to provide for her kids and is maliciously trying to hurt Liz this way. She could have done something else to hurt Liz, but she chose to go after her job.

On to Monica. I was actually expecting worse from Monica. She listened to Maxie with a skeptical ear and is investigating the situation by talking to Liz about it. I was expecting her to rub her hands together with her eyes gleaming and immediately fire Liz on the spot based on her recent attitude toward Liz. I was pleasantly surprised.

As to Liz, yes she did something wrong. And I am assuming that when she is questioned by Monica she is going to confess. She probably won't get any credit from her haters for confessing, but she should. Without Liz's confession, Monica would have no grounds to proceed with a suspension or any other punishment. All she would have is hearsay from a reputed liar. The meds were replaced thanks to Matt, so there is no other evidence. I hope we can all respect Liz's honesty (if that is how it plays out). She may make mistakes, but Liz always owns up to them and takes her punishment in the end.

Loved, loved, loved all the Liz love from Ewen and Matt today! I also loved the Patrick/Mac scenes.

I hope Kate DOES have a split personality - which we saw the beginnings of last week....at least she would HAVE a personality then....
Please put us out of misery and get rid of Ethan, Cassandra.....and Elizabeth...
get Shawn back with Carly or Alexis...
and please drop this stupid Franco stuff and move on - let Jason decide to leave Sonny since he is going to be a father - SOMETHING

I would agree with the comments about NuMaxie. JL does nothing for me, and never has. Her Maxie is ditsy and in the case of Liz, needy and vengeful.

that being said, I notice that everyone is calling Maxie out for not thinking of Liz' kids, and what the losss of her job even temporarily might do to the stability of her household. My problem is that Liz' did not think of her children when she chose to steal the drugs in the first place. Why didn't Liz think about the consequences if she got caught. Liz only motivation at the time was to divert Lucky's attention from Siobhan, and make herself available(and willing)to him.

I am so tired of the angst for Jason and Sam. Why can't they be happily pregnant, and backburnered for a few months? First this Franco crap,(and please soap gods, let that joker be really truly dead)now we have the inoperable brain tumor. I can't wait for the new writers stuff to begin airing, maybe then we will have a cure for the tumor, Jason will once again be a quatermaine and Sam will wash her hair, get a better wardrobe, and smile more. She's pregnant for Gods sake!!

OK I have not posted here in ages because I had finally stopped watching thanks to the atrocious Lante wedding which was full of classless Falconeri but didn't have any Spencer attending other than stupid Lulu (but considering that this wedding got the worst rating of an advertised wedding on GH I guess I was not the only one who hated it).
That showed how GH was still so much focused on characters I hate and it was the end for me of more than 30 years of watching GH (or so I thought). But I was still checking my favorite boards and then I heard about the Johnny storyline and how BB was beyond amazing (can't forget the brilliant scenes of Johnny confronting Anthony, that was just "wow"). And then I was hooked again... to the Johnny part because the rest of the show is just pathetic except for Scrubs.

I said it several times, I don't care about Jasam and I don't care about Liason. I don't hate any of them. But this vomit worthy storyline of Sam being not raped by Franco and having refused to go see a doctor so that she would be sure or not just turned me against the character big time. Sam has been whining to get pregnant for years and now she would apparently be ready to get rid of it if it wasn't the spawn of Jason??? Wow wow wow. Poor KeMo, she deserves better than this trashy material...

Poor Becky too, with Liz constantly thrown under the bus. As some said, Liz has done many mistakes that should have cost her her job before but a lot of characters have committed crimes that should have them IN JAIL. SO Liz is getting what is due to her but Sonny, Jason, Dante, Michael, Johnny, Sam, Shawn, Spin and many others who should ALL be in jail are free as a bird. This is what I don't like on this show. Cops are rotten, mobsters never pay but mothers with kids who work because their douche of ex-husband couldn't care less about his kids is crucified. Wow again.

I used to love Maxie. The character has been ruined to me.

I hate that Shawn is painted like this "good guy" (on the contrary of Johnny?) but it was Johnny that Shawn was kicking in a merciless way in the stomach (when Johnny was lying on the ground!!!) just because Johnny refused to help the Balkan make Brenda pay. It was Shawn that had no problem almost killing Sam and kidnapping Brenda.
So the patronizing tone, the "I am holier than you" attitude towards Johnny, the whitewashing, all that don't work with me. I have good memory sorry and Shawn is just a thug and a mercenary who didn't think it was a problem to attack women. So RUN CARLY!!! BTW, the guy is hot but I am not moved at all by his acting qualities.

Ewen. Not convinced at all by the guy. Not my type. Don't find him hot. Not interested by this newbie AT ALL. Can we board a bus with all the newbies (except Delores perhaps) and bye bye Cassandra, Ewen, Shawn, TJ, Maggie?

My bright spots? There are a few...

Johnny is at the top of my list and I would have never thought I would like them but Carly and Johnny are so freaking HAWT.
Their flirting, kissing, joking yesterday was just great to watch (loved when Johnny was kissing Carly's neck and saying that he just wants a woman who would want to be with him...).
Shawn/Carly was forced and so boring (Miss Wright was perhaps not at the top of her game with Shawn/SB but she sure is with Johnny/BB Wink ).

I just hope that Carly will be able to put Johnny right on tracks by showing some real love even if it is for a short time... Then Johnny go split Lante please as they are unwatchable (yes Lulu getting a job in a filing room is much better than being a fashion magazine assistant... This girl has just no brain and Dante is of course OK as he will be able to have more sex fixes by going at it like rabbits with her in the evidence room, the soon to be twin sister of the supply closet at GH).

Alexis/Diane. Those two are just brilliant together. And please even if Carly dumps Shawn, no Alexis/Shawn, my girl deserves better than that thug.

Tracy/Anthony. The two actors seem to have so much fun together that you can see it on screen. But I am so mad at Edward and Luke to have let Tracy alone and married to a psychopath.

Scrubs. They are so cute. And Anna is back. Yippee!!!!!!!

Edenpark..I agree about Johnny but think Carly has NO chemistry with anybody at all especially Johnny. The only way i would get on board with them is if Johnny was really only with Carly because she reminds him of Lulu and if i could see him fantasizing about Lulu (Sex scenes with JMB NOT LW) while he was having sex with Carly. Then ended up cheating on Carly with Lulu and breaking Carly & Dante's hearts at the same time!LOL!That would be fun to watch.

Is it wrong that I hope that they put Jason in a coma for at least a month or have him confined to bed rest so we can put Sam out of his orbit for a bit so I can actually enjoy her? I am a KM fan and I like Sam but I hate when she's around SB because it's virtually all about Jason and his pain and blah blah.

I don't know if it's JL or the writing that has changed Maxie into this one not harpy. With KS she had layers and I could always see some redeemable qualities even through her actions. Now she's just a jealous shrew who doesn't care about anything but herself it seems.

I love what to me seems might be a subtle change they are doing to Liz. I hope I'm right and they are putting her back to the Liz that this fan loves! I loved that she was honest with Matt and no one can say that she's using him or trying to steal a taken man!

I didn't see any chemistry before with Johnny and Carly but I enjoyed their scenes! I was fanning myself when Johnny was kissing her neck. Gosh BB is one hot man.

I see that they are also changing Michael, probably for when Star comes around. I actually think they should try putting Alexis and Shawn together. I sensed a little chemistry when they were on together. I won't comment on TJ because it will be just me ranting.

All in all it wasn't a bad episode and I didn't ff anything. I even let the Skate scenes play even though they bore me.

Tuesday...up the incline...inching to the top...keep your hands inside the car, please...yeah, right...

Did she give him a key to her office? Good Lord, I'd have security booted and re-hired with people I could trust. Unless he just threatens them. The woman is schizoid if she has no problem reaming the bully out for monitoring her every move and then with a close embrace and a kiss, all is
forgiven. The thing I'm curious about, with these two, is how is Kate's
"split identity" going to play off him being bi-polar? Jeepers. Calling Dr. Keenan... Puzzled

Nice to see Mac and Patrick having an easy conversation about "fun" stuff for Robin. And we know what the "surprise" is! Can't wait!... Big smile

"It's inoperable." I guess that we're gonna focus more on Jason now that Sam's baby is his and the mental and emotional anguish is over, per se. In a way, I think KM was robbed of more material that she could've played, but whatever. At least Sam was able to get the human lugnut to GH. Worst patient is one thing. Being dumb about taking care of a brain injury is another. No offense to Jason lovers here, but writing SBu's enforcer this way doesn't do him any favors with regard to character, story or acting challenges...

I'm on record as saying I like Maxie. Right now, I can't stand her. This running to Monica and ratting out Liz not only stinks to high heaven with rampant hypocrisy, but it's cruel and petty. You don't play with a person's career, especially one where there are children involved that are being supported by the party that is being accused. But, Maxie, being selfish and inward looking can only see her own hurt and humiliation. Ironic that in yapping about being honest "no more lies..cover ups..", she conveniently leaves out that detail aboiut her "partnership" with Papa Z. Doesn't that make her an accessory to murder? I'm not sure even Spinelli
could make her feel guilty about this "stunt". Going after a working mother with two kids? Even with the truth that's involved, this is so going to backfire... Puzzled

I liked how Monica turned Maxie's "confession" back on her: "I seem to recall a situation, oh, a few years ago..." I thought for a brief moment she might dismiss (or at least downplay), this "accusation" even though it has "legs". I want to give the acting (has she become official?), COS the benefit of the doubt here. Now that this "nugget" has ben dropped in her lap, will we see her investigate "fairly"? Am I expecting too much? Or will Liz end up as the main "culprit" here when in reality, there were others involved including Matt, Lucky, D, Spinelli (the last on the fringes), we'll see if her (as written now) personal enmity towards Liz (as relates to her son and his newly pregnant wife), colors her decisions...

On a "happier" note: "Are you asking me out on a date?" My goodness, Ewan is. And she accepts. Just as Matt shows up. "Am I interupting?" Uh, yes,
you are but upon getting his invitation, well, what's a girl to do? "You are not seriously going with Ewan...?" "He asked me..." "Can you get out of it?" "Probably. But I don't want to." Good answer. As is her rejoinder:
"One date is not going to hurt me." Which is true at this stage. When he lets her know that he and Maxie are over "...for good...". I believe she feels badly for him and not just because she's one of the main sticking points. She also exhibits a generosity of spirit when she encourages him to try again with Maxie, even if she detests the woman. She hasn't completely shut the door on a relationship with Matt, but let's let her try with Ewan for a while. I think Matt's gonna be there regardless.
Especially when he finds out what Maxie's started...

It's probably a good thing they didn't go any farther than glasses of wine and some heavy grappling. Carly's right about one thing: "I don't know what I want." I'd say they've written her all over the map in the last couple of years. As for John, I think he just needs someone to talk to and be with him who isn't going to hold him to an impossible standard of behavior. Or expect him to be something "obvious". I get the feeling he could be the head of the Zacchara family but would prefer to be "subtle" about it. (Or as "subtle" as a crime family can be.) Wield the power but in a way as to "mute" it's volume. I actually chortled when Jr. shows up at the penthouse. The pure mirth tinged with irony on BrBa's face was hysterical. LW's Carly was just as funny for the look of guilt and panic
that her son could've walked in on one of her "decisions" that he'd totally see as "bad". The subsequent scene where Jr. thanks John for listening to him and revealing his enrollment in PCU was sweet in it's honesty. And that endears John to Carly all the more. Another hook to pull
these two hearts together. Better hang on with both hands for this ride...

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone...may time with your loved ones be both sweet and rich...if there's chocolate and roses all the better... Wink
Swan! Innocent

First let me say tealita and EET, your posts were so on point about the Maxie/Liz situation that there's no point in me repeating it. If a surgical nurse in my local hospital had made a life threatening mistake in surgery and then proceeded to make another life threatening mistake on someone's chart and then stolen drugs and then looked at a patient's file who wasn't her patient without that patient's permission or knowledge, she would not have been suspended (for all of one day as she was before), she would have been fired!!!

I do not like JL's version of Maxie. KS's version had layers and warmth and history and chemistry with everyone. JL's version is a cold hearted, whinning bitch and she has no chemistry with anyone. For me her acting is subpar and I'm sad that ABC has decided to keep her on permanently instead of allowing KS to return to her role!!! I guess JL was cheap and that's the only thing they're thinking about these days. Very sad!!! So for me, Maxie is dead and JL's version is a new character whom I cannot stand!

I still think the Sonny/nuKate story is snooze worthy and it's a shame that the OLTL crew couldn't come up with something more original than a multiple personality story that they've done repeatedly on OLTL!! Seems they're all ready out of ideas!!! Stare

I loved all the scenes with Carly and Johnny!!! They are SMOKING HOT together and I cannot wait to see where this goes!!! Sexy I had a good laugh when Michael showed up at Johnny's apartment and I loved the expressions on both LW and BB's faces! Two really great actors that play together very well indeed!!!

And I don't care if it's because Star is on her way or not, I'm just glad that Michael has finally decided to go to college and isn't still insisting he wants to be in the mob!

I hate that Jason's inoperable brain injury seems to be more important than Sam and the baby but I guess this is Robin's exit story so it is what it is. I loved that Patrick is arranging a surprise for Robin since we all know what that is and I can't wait to see Anna!! Smile

Perks-I agree w/your comment here & thanks loads for the recaps!

js3557-I'm just hoping that this finally ends this horrid storyline Elizabeth is stuck (at the kiddie table) with Matt & Maxi 'again' (who insults her at every turn in dialog) I applaud any kind of movement in Garin's sluggish writing

SwanQ-as always your post is refreshing & makes me laugh...

Sassy-I'm with you all the way in your interpretation of Maxie (JL isn't the best actress for me)

If a grown WOMAN (Sam) in my area had terroized a mother and her children then her butt would be in prison.

Liz and Dante should have called for medical help and let them deal with Lucky's drug overdose.

^^ l4r: According to Sam McCall's fans, Liz's transgressions are as bad as hiring goons to draw GUNS on a mother, her preschooler and toddler or marrying at least five different men to swindle for their fortune. The Liz-hate is unwarranted and usually never makes an ounce of sense by those posters. Hating Liz Webber is the marker of loving Sam mcCall as Sam is not very much of a character.

I liked alot of yesterday's show! My favorite part were the Shawn/Michael scenes. It looks like they will be building trust between them! I also LOVED that Shawn called Carly to ask her out after her 'mess' with Johnny! By the look on her face, she was shocked but pleased. Shawn can be that guy for romance but also be that guy who will be a part of her WHOLE life! We all know that the ONLY thing CarJohn has is sex appeal (which to me is still not really that sexy most of the time, just awkward-NO lovestory), if they haven't hooked up by now--it ain't happening! I'm ready for a Sharly LOVE story!!

Ugh for the umpteenth time what does sams transgressions - in the midst of what clearly seemed to be a mental breakdown - have to do with the current liz story? That said, on a soap characters PAY in a variety of ways because if they paid for their crimes in the true real life fashion virtually every single character would be in pentonville right now not port charles and yes that includes sam and liz and jason etc. etc. Who knows how this is going to play out? I personally have said I have wanted to see liz get fired for awhile now because I think it would be good for the character - wouldnt it be interesting if kate offered her a job at crimson given her artistic eye? or if she opened a gallery at the metro court? If you are a fan of the character that would give her something new and refreshing to do, no? but the writers cant get there unless they give her a reason to get fired if thats the direction they are going. As for sam - they DID have the character pay - after that all came out she was shunned by nearly everyone in town and she lost her job and she got mowed over by drunk monica. THAT is how characters PAY on a soap. And the reason it didnt come out that she hired fake gunmen to hold FAKE guns on the kids is because at that point all the secrets were going to come out - that liz committed perjury on the stand, that jake was jasons, and that jason killed lorenzo and since liz and jason werent eager to join sam behind bars they all kept their mouths shut and they ALL technically got away with breaking the law. (both women too might well have been charged with obstruction and maybe even accessory after the fact in the alcazar murder case if you really want to go there about getting away with major crimes WITHOUT punishment) So yeah sam got away with a big one and so did jason and so did liz so lets not even go there.

As for todays show, I dont think anyone is defending maxie other than to say that you cant say her actions were harmful to the kids if you dont look at liz's actions too with respect to her kids financial well being. (and lets not forget lucky who never thinks about his kids well being - or at least hasnt since JJ came back to the role) Sweetpie makes a good point that Liz didnt really think about what would happen to her kids financially when she jumped in to all this. She also broke her kids trust fund and put it all in to one single stock because she wanted wealth - without that she wouldnt be dependent on the job. No, I dont think maxie really got it when it comes to the kids even though she brought it up (and thats the difference between JL and kirsten storms - I think with KS you would have seen that maxie knew it but didnt GET IT, the whole idea that she was going to hurt the families finances and thats a big deal) But my defense was totally about monica who had to do what she had to do and given liz's past transgressions (which unfortunately are on the record unlike say the times bobbie stole drugs or monica did) I doubt because of those past issues and the magnitude of this problem, monicas choice will be any different than what Steve or Robin would have had to do had they been in the COS position. People bashing monica or saying their ashamed of her for doing her job either didnt watch or dont get the seriousness of this situation. Liz even said MONICA HAS BEEN REALLY NICE ABOUT GIVING HER EXTRA SHIFTS. Whatever monica may feel about liz as a human being or as a mother its clear that she separates that from work.

I also am done with matt after this story. On the one hand he is saying that he had to break off with maxie because she is an irrationally jealous nut job and then he turns around and says he wants to go out with the very person maxie thought he secretly was in to. hmmmm even liz said "well we werent totally innocent" nope, liz you werent, and you even admit that you knew it was annoying maxie (and matt knew it but you kept going) I dont know but if Im involved with someone or I have a friend thats involved I try to be respectful of that relationship and I try to show that there is a clear boundary that I am not crossing.

Im tired of the jason sam story. I dont know why they are writing them this way. I dont even know what to say. the chemistry is still there but the writing isnt compelling. How many times are they going to revisit jasons pain.

eden, I just wanted to say, I sort of take issue with the idea that people are dumping on sam for not wanting the baby if it was francos. What sucked is that the writers didnt give kelly/sam the opportunity to play the beats so I guess here Im filling them in (i guess wolfe was afraid to write a rape story about the ACTUAL rape victim) but I cant imagine how hard it might be to carry your rapist child especially knowing that its driving your husband crazy with rage. I thought sam was vague about it because there was a part of her that wanted to keep it for fear that was their one and only chance to have a child and she was gauging jasons reaction to the idea. I think they also touched about her concern that the baby would be like its father. Its sad that they have an actress of kellys caliber and they didnt write that material better. Ironically they are playing that better on True Blood - the one character was married to a serial killer and now she is afraid the baby is evil like its dad so she goes back and forth between having this fear and distance from the baby and then having this intense love towards the child and guilt over having the fear/distance emotions. Im annoyed that they didnt have sam confide in alexis so that they could have played those beats and Im annoyed that most of the audience seems to believe that she wasnt raped and thus doesnt seem to see her as a victim (and tiic in charge give us scenes with jason telling her basically to forget the rape and her looking at him like I will try)

EET that is EXACTLY my problem with the JaSam baby sl! I have no problem with the baby being Jason's but I would love for us to see more of Sam in this sl. How about now that she knows that the baby is Jason she deals with the fact that she still doesn't know if she was raped or not?!? I feel like they are doing the character and the audience a disservice because it seems like her feelings about the maybe rape is not important and it's all about how Jason feels and his drama of the moment. And if Jason tells you that you don't have to think about the rape anymore well then you just forget about the rape. ugh beyond annoying.

Um, I don't know at what hospitals ya'll have worked at, but in regards to the whole "she looked at a patient's file without his permission! oh noes!" junk, that is done ALL the time. The patient doesn't "have" to be directly assigned to you for you to be able to gain access to their file. The file itself isn't "confidential" to the STAFF, it's just confidential to the rest of the world (i.e. she cannot share what's in there), this is esp. so in a teaching hospital (which GH is according to Emily's insta-career & Night Shift).

And I agree with GHVetFan: Everyone else is allowed to get off scott-free (including Matt, let's not forget he also helped) for all of their 50 million crimes including murder, but Liz should be made to pay for the simple fact that you don't like her?? Ok. I've been waiting for Sonny to pay for the past 5-6 years now cuz I certainly don't like him.

@EET (just read what u wrote): I believe that Liz has also paid: the death of her child, Lucky leaving her to basically grieve and take care of the kids on her own, everybody in town calling her out & treating her like a pariah (Maxie is still doing this), including her own brother, I could go on. So if you are saying that characters pay for their crimes in ways other than jail-time, then I would agree with you & say that Liz has also MORE than paid for hers. I do like the idea of Liz working somewhere other than the hospital, but I'd like that to be on her own accord & not b/c she got fired.
Also, I don't buy the whole Liz used that trust fund b/c she wanted wealth, just like u don't buy that Sam conned/married 5 men for their money. Liz had FIVE million dollars for her kids. Jason gave her 5 milli to do with as she pleased (so that Jake & Cam AND Liz would be taken care of. Period.) Technically, if she NEVER wanted to work again ALL she would have to do is say Jason, give me MILLIONS of dollars b/c I don't want to work anymore, I'd rather focus on art, and he would give it to her in less than a second. We all know that. That is how he rolls, esp. where she is concerned (he would do the same for Robin or Carly). Hell, she could do that then call up Nik and ask for the same thing & he'd give it to her as well. Liz could easily be a millionaire (in the same vein as Carly) without doing anything more than ASKING for it... so this idea that she is somehow a money-grubber when we have NEVER ACTUALLY SEEN IT PORTRAYED ON-SCREEN, is all in your head. Personally, I still don't understand that trust fund/stocks storyline b/c it made no sense when one thinks about who Liz is & who her friends are.
I agree with Sweetpie that Liz should have thought about her kids financially, but I would argue that she was thinking of them (& herself) *emotionally*, & what it would do to them if Lucky were to lose himself & go off the wagon again. For Liz (& for Lucky) it was about *saving* Lucky.

I agree with EVERYONE about the Jasam baby & the maybe-rape being all about Jason. It is in a word: gross.
Raped or not Sam was victimized and that beat SHOULD BE PLAYED. She should still be apprehensive about Jason's touch, she should be having nightmares, SOMETHING! Not "oh the baby's yours so we don't have a care in the world! bottles & diapers & morning sickness, oh my!" crap. Sam can be happy about her kid but still be reeling about what happened to her... those 2 things CAN happen at the same time, lol. Ugh, show.

Im going to say this again - i thought what Liz did re: helping Lucky with the drugs was absolutely the right thing to do. Said so then, said so now. I think Maxie was a rotten rat fink in this instance and while I think Liz was wrong for once again getting up in between someones relationship (which she herself acknowledged at kellys) Maxie never should have gone after her employment PERIOD. not because Liz is a mom or because cam is gonna be on food stamps but because its an over the top way to get even messing with ANYONES employment. if maxie had set her sights on ewan to get even thats equivalent. If she gave her a bitch slap, thats assault but on a soap thats equivalent. Instead she went after her job and that for me is a no go, but to make it sound like what maxie did just condemned cam and aiden to a life of bread crumbs feels melodramatic to me.

And yes, Liz has paid for a lot of the stuff shes done - on a karma level - same as sam and actually a lot of the other characters. Im hoping that this is one of the ways they use karma to basically pay back characters too - where it boomerangs...maxie does something bad and not only will she pay by being in the dog house with patrick and matt and robin, my thought was doesnt it end up being delicious irony if Liz ends up with that job at crimson or directing a gallery at the metro court and maxie now has to compete with liz for kates favor. And let me tell you I was THRILLED yesterday to hear Liz say that she wants Ewan over matt given that matt is being a douchebag and because she said she likes that hes handsome and SINGLE. I saw yesterdays epi and I knew some of the fans would be hating that the epi was "anti liz" when it could be actually good. The character annoys me because they have played the characteristics she has that i find most grating in the same stories over and over and over again. move her in to a DIFFERENT type of story showcasing different aspects of her character and maybe those that dislike the character will be less inclined (not unlike how the sam haters still might not like her much with her sisters and her mother but they seem to hate her LESS in those types of scenes and story)

@Miry-I am not sure which hospital you have worked at Miry, but there has to be a paper trial for access to someone's medical records, even from the doctor's, nurses and hospital staff. There are HIPPA violations involved with serious consequences if they are violated. The atmosphere you describe sounds very lax, and not at all professional.

How come nobody jumps all over Robin for breaking Jason's confidentiality by telling Carly his medical business?

Oh right, cause she isn't LIz. Silly me!!!

Miry - Good on ya!!!

I don't believe that anyone said they were ashamed of Monica for doing her job. I believe that I am ashamed of Monica for not investigating and just believing Maxie. I believe the investigation should come before the suspension. Maxie is not a good and honest source of information. Since the last time we saw any interaction between Liz and Monica, Monica was berating her over the death of her child I think it is a pretty justified leap that Monica wouldn't treat Liz fairly.

I find it interesting that Liz needs to be punished by suspension or loss of her job and get her karmic comeuppance but Sam should only be karmic-ly troubled. Sam has never paid for any of her crimes and those crimes are numerous. She has always gotten off scott free and been treated like some silly hero for essentially falling down a lot and getting rescued. The character's only purpose historically has been as a sounding board for Jason. Now, she is pregnant so he can display his anger. He says she needs to get over her rape so she says okey dokey. This isn't new. It is her M.O. She always waits for his cue before she expresses herself. This is just a lot sicker.

By the way, why would the chief of staff schedule the nurses? Shouldn't that be Epiphany's job? Silly writing!!

If Liz is Patrick's nurse, wouldn't it be part of her job to update his chart? Isn't that what she is doing when they show her lugging around all of those charts?
