Frankie Faison, recently seen as Destiny Evans' father on One Life to Live, has been cast in a new TV series.  According to Deadline, he will star in Banshee, from executive producer Alan Ball. Faison will play Sugar Bates, a retired boxer-turned-barkeep, in the 10-episode Cinemax series. The plot of Banshee centers on the local sheriff of Banshee, PA, whose criminal past comes back to haunt him, when the gangsters he betrayed come calling.  Congrats to Faison!

I'm not surprised, he's a pretty talented guy with a decent resume even before he reached OLTL.
I remember him best as the slumlord to Eddie Murphy & Arsenio Hall's character on Coming To America. I even remember him from the patriarch of that short-lived sitcom he did on Fox in the 1990s ( or was it the 80s?)

Prior to OLTL, he co-starred on another HBO drama series "The Wire"!
