And in other news . . . nope can't come up w/anything to be snarky.

Look, all of these characters can "trend", "bend", and "spend" all they want, if the above has made a concentrated effort to get this off the air, it's gonna happen.

I hope the new HBIC of ABCD can at least get the show to see its 50th, if anything to know if Garin got to cut that cake.

Good news for GH, but Ron C is still not off the hook for how shoddily he has written the Anna/Robert/Patrick/Robin death storyline so far! Robin has been relegated to the backburner over the past few days and Starr and Todd have basically taken over the freaking show!

I am enjoying the Carly/Todd, Carly/Blair scenes, but I am already tired of Starr and I wish Ron would do more to honor Robin's legacy!

How could a story with a showdown between a rapist/killer and a mobster/killer not trend?

It's official: GH just lost whatever soul it had left.

Didn't we just have a "did Sonny get shot?" story two weeks ago? Didn't we see that a hundred times under Guza? But since it's THIS regime writing it, it must be different. It must be better. Right?

But let me step aside so the chorus of praise for this "groundbreaking" story can begin. What could make this better? If the other Todd shows up too? Or if Sonny suddenly flips out and becomes his alter? What tired soap cliche can this regime use and not get praise? What tired Guza plot can they not recycle and still have the chorus of praise?

If Robin had died last year instead of Jake, her entire death would have been wrapped up in two shows. Hell, Patrick would have been screwing some unknown nurse before Robin was in the ground! Sick

If the rumors/spumors are true, Robin's death is suppose to play out for some time.

I am tired of all the PULL OUT MY GUN to show I am a man machismo that is on General Hospital. When I heard that the new powers to be would be on I thought MAYBE, JUST MAYBE this moronic way to tell a story would end. But it hasn't. And with the arrival of OLTL to GH, the GET OUT YOUR GUN crowd has doubled.

What's wrong with soaps that they didn't do 10/15/20 or even 25 years ago? Soaps back then ... if you take out Eterna and FREEZE PORT CHARLES (hmmm, the 2 shows now married together) ... told stories that could sort of be rationally explained away. Paternity came down to a blood test back then and usually only when a child was dying or said parent or through blackmail. Now DNA tests have been taken over and anyone and their mother, whether rich or poor can either just change the results with little computer knowledge of genetic study background. Men carry guns and whip them out in front of cops and nothing happens because either the cop is the gun toting mobster/publishing scion's child or it would slow down the SUPER quick pace of shows today.

Whodunits? Back in the day, the reveals were shocking. The climaxes so worth the wait. Now, a murder happens and one of the stars of the show can't work because of contract issues and that WHODUNIT is put on hold and the victim is made into the culprit (please don't count the viewers in there) and the culprit the victim. And the reasons for being murdered are soooo lame that even the reasoning on the show, uttered by the actors make the viewers think "but all she did was sue the alcoholic for sleeping with HER husband so now the town thinks she deserves to die? WTF?"

I loved the Todd/Sonny and Carly/Blair scenes today. My problem is with AIRHOG Kate on EVERY DAM DAY and taking time away from Robin/Anna/Scorpios/Drakes...Liz and everyone else. Talk about a newbie eating up air time....and her story is just plain silly...good for a few laughs here and there....but not good enough to bump Robin's story line and even Jasam's story line for that matter...I hate Jasam..so you know it is bad if I say that.

Soaps need to fall back down to earth. If you have a character commit a crime, whether running over a child while drunk (seriously, where did I miss Luke getting in a boat load of legal trouble for an alcohol induced vehicular homicide of a child?) or if they actually kill someone then they have to go to jail. The plausibility of them walking is sooooooooo thin that it makes it not worth watching the show for suspense.

GH had luke commit a crime and he's walking around admitting that he did it but isn't in prison. I don't get it.

Y&R has Adam criminally harass Ashley to the point she falls and her child dies and then he steals another child to hide his first misdeed and then lets out a convicted murderous loony and he is still walking around free and he PUBLICLY admits this, as well.

DAYS has EJ as mayor but it makes no sense since he regularly admits to his crimes and he walks and wins?

Years ago, Michael raped Christine on Y&R. The character and the actor left the show for 4 years. When he returned people were able to say "well, he did pay for his crimes a little" and then we welcomed him to where Michael is on the show today. That's the right way to do it. Making a character blind isn't forgiveness. Having a huge intervention does not forgive the hit and run death of a character's own grandson at his own drunken hands.

SOAPS ... all 4 of you ... need to start looking at how real good story is told. You need to realize that the viewers love soaps and with only 4 on the air want to watch something. But we also want intelligent, albeit over the top dramatic storytelling.

I'm confused. I thought trending on Twitter is a GOOD NEWS story, yet most of what I'm reading here is another opportunity for soap fans to pull the same old gripes and complaints out of their, um, hats.

I'm excited to see people who are young enough to understand the-Twitter are actually tweeting about a soap in 2012! To me, it means that whole horrible crossover idea is actually working! Still, never underestimate the ability for Crazy Internet People (tm Lauren Graham) to turn it into a BAD thing. (eye roll)

I'm not complaining TV Gord. I started watching GH again once Ron's scripts hit the air. I walked away from GH the latter part of 2008 and only watched an occassional scene on YT.

Seriously...all the people complaining about the OLTL writers and actors being at GH now really need to zip-it! If it wasn't for the OLTL writers and actors...GH wouldn't be getting the ratings it is now..PERIOD! GH has been SOOOOOOOO boring for YEARS...now finally there is some good storylines and things are getting interesting! If this wasn't happening...GH wouldn't have lasted another year! PERIOD!!! ROCK ON!!!

TV Gord,

Do you think Ron C has done Robin Scorpio's death justice? Or that he's written SUITABLE material for Anna, Robert and Holly, thus far? This man claimed to have so much respect for GH's history, and he's gonna have to prove it! Actions speak louder than words, my friend! Smile

I haven't really voiced any opinions on any of the storylines, but Robin's death storyline isn't over yet. After her funeral, I might have more to say.

I'm more interested in keeping GH on the air, if it's possible. The actual storylines are less important to me right now.

TV Gord - What's the point of keeping a show on the air if the storylines aren't important to you? Why keep a show on the air that has awful stories? Don't get me wrong....I want GH around forever. But I strongly disagree with your position that story doesn't matter and that the only thing that is important is whether or not the show stays on the air. I believe that they can keep GH on the air AND have good storylines. I don't want an awful GH on the air. I want a fantastic GH on the air.

From the way they have focused on the OLTL add ons and Sonny/Carly/Kate over the last week, I just don't get why they didn't cancel GH and move Sonny/Carly/Kate over to OLTL. I don't want to wait a week to see Patrick, Emma, Liz, etc grieve for Robin just so the OLTL characters can blather on and on about crap I neither know nor care about. I want to see my GH characters. And I wouldn't mind some new OLTL characters on GH...but I don't like how they have taken over. I actually really like the actor who plays Todd. He is intriguing and talented so far. I just don't want him taking over the show. I want GH...not OLTL.

*************************************

Do I have to explain every word???

I didn't say the storylines aren't important to me. I said they are LESS important to me than keeping one soap-foot in the door on ABC. Attracting OLTL viewers to GH (which had higher ratings than GH, don't forget) should be as important to GH fans as it is to OLTL fans, but as an OLTL fan, I feel as though I've been crapped on at every turn!

I didn't say the stories are awful.

I didn't say story doesn't matter.

I didn't say the ONLY thing that is important is whether a show stays on the air.

I DIDN'T SAY ANY OF THOSE THINGS.

These are all words you are trying to attribute to me that I didn't write.

I have offered no opinion at all about Robin's storyline, and suddenly it's as though I'm being expected to defend it. Why is that being aimed at me? I've said nothing about that storyline, so you don't know how I feel about it one way or the other!

I'm rooting for GH to stay on the air. Why does that make me the subject of cross-examination based on things you're making up in your head THAT I NEVER WROTE??? Why does it make me the bad guy?

Damn it! READ what I WRITE!!!

What did reggae singer Bob Marley say? "You can please some people some time, but you can't please all the people all of the time".

TV Gord - I'm sorry if my comment came off as an attack against you. You did write that the storylines were "less" important to you, and not that they didn't matter. I am sorry that I misinterpreted that line of yours. I didn't mean to "cross-examine" you. I guess it's just an occupational hazard since I am an attorney. Wink

My main point was that storylines should be the most important thing (IMHO). I don't want a crappy GH on the air. I want an amazing GH on the air. The only way to do that is with great storylines.

Personally I am glad Robin is finally gone. After all she quit the show she didn't get fired so I thought they gave her ample story time. I am glad Helena's daughter is gone. I couldn't stand her. I do miss Ethan already. I don't miss Abbey one bit. I don't care for having Anna back or Holly. I am glad Robert took off. I can't stand Anthony but since Tony Geary is quitting the show I am glad Tracy did something to stay on the air. I like her. I hope that one boring cop that is alway's after Jason is gone and John McBain is taking his place. Much cuter. I am really glad Jax is gone. Never could stand him. Hopefully Shawn will be moving on leaving the door open for either Sonny/Carly, or Todd/Carly/Blair. Finally I wish Blair would send for her teenage son Jack to be with Molly. They would be so cute together.
