Now this looks hot! The game-changing folks at juggernaut web series factory Attention Span Media(Dorm Life, If I Can Dream) are bringing the hit BBC teen soap The Cut to the U.S., via an exclusive deal with Hulu and Hulu Plus. The sultry sudser premieres today!
From creators Geoffrey Goodwin and Al Smith (EastEnders, Holby City), The Cut is described as "a fast-paced modern teen drama about a group of friends living in London." Hollyoaks' Sarah Walker directed the project.
“The Cut will be one of Attention Span’s biggest content launches to date," says CEO Josh McHugh. "It’s an opportunity for us to bring great new content to savvy and engaged Hulu viewers.”
Hollyoaks star Scarlett Bowman, Matt Kane (Skins, Casualty), Tosin Coke (Hollyoaks, EastEnders), Samuell Benta (Power Rangers), Steven Hartley (Merlin, EastEnders) and Lara Goodison (Weekender) star in the series. Look for two 5-minute chapters to be released every weekday. Two half-hour eppys will then be aired every Saturday!
The Cut's premiere season focuses on 18-year-old Jay (Benta), who arrives in London following a mysterious death. Once in England's capital city, Jay becomes mixed up with the warring Mackinnon and Loxley clans. Sounds soapy alright!
Look for posh Marla Mackinnon (Goodison) to fancy shagging newcomer Jay right off the bat, much to her father's chagrin. Meanwhile, Olive Loxley (Billie North) is sick of working at the family café, and will do anything to get out from under her meddling big sis Toni's (Jess Dickens) thumb. Will bad boy Stephen Mackinnon (Kane) prove to be Olive's way out?
