Just the way it had Jamey and Luke debating it, you know it was good. See that is what writing good serialized drama is all about. Log in to Reply Restless Vixen May 2, 2012 ^5 @ david46208. That Grey’s abortion SL sounded like good vintage television to me. Relevant and thought-provoking. I wish daytime could get back to that, and I wish I watched Grey’s Anatomy. If DC/PC had a supercouple, it would Luke and Jamey. You two have the best chemistry – your disagreements are comedy gold, and when you co-sign with each other, it’s just fabulous! @Jamey, you did say Xscape was your favorite group @Luke – I got your back @Jillian, do you really think Teresa has single-handeded busted up the Manzo/Laurita families? Teresa is a plumb fool, but I think Caroline is giving her way too much credit or making Theresa the fall guy. I’m with Jamey with that one. I’ve never really liked her as much as you do, though. She’s too into everybody’s business and runs that trap with unsolicited advice too much for my liking. But we’ll see. I can’t wait to see the drama of RHONJ unfold. Must see TV for me! @Melodie, you better get on that RHONJ train. I hated it originally, but now it tops my former favorite RHOA. My mother has been trying since forever to watch Basketball Wives, but I just can’t witht hat show. However, this entire conversation about Basketball Wives and punching cats has me dying. Tears streaming, cannot breeve! *flatline* Still listening, but so far this podcast is top notch! Log in to Reply Jamey Giddens May 2, 2012 @Restless Vixen, I said “one of my favorite groups”. I think it’s well established TLC is my all-time favorite girl group. There was a lot of talking over, from all of us, but I said “one”. Log in to Reply Restless Vixen May 2, 2012 @Jamey…I don’t know, I replayed and I didn’t hear “one”. But I knew what you meant, though. No biggie. But you should have seen Kandi on that Reunion show. She was the boss! That “carry every last one of you” line was brilliant. She could have just said “Sexual Chocolate”, undid her mic pack and just walked off the set after that one. I’m no NeNe fan, but she held her own most of the time, too. I don’t even watch Vampire Diaries, but that comment about somebody’s kitty purring and clawing had me dying. I’m not totally feeling that Girls show on HBO so far. I love the lead character, played by Lena Dunham (sp?). She, with her snark and low self-esteem, is a winner for a cable character. But the rest of the stories are kind of dry to me. The premise of the show, messy upper middle class 20somethings in NYC is good, but it’s lacking something for me. I’m not sure what yet, but something is keeping me from completely loving that show. And I really, really want to love it. This entire podcast for the win! Log in to Reply Jamey Giddens May 2, 2012 @RestlessVixen I was so tempted to tune in, thanks to my Twitter timeline blowing it up, but I can’t let myself get hooked on another reality show! LOL Not enough hours in the day! Log in to Reply daytimekid May 2, 2012 I feel that Girls is so realistic. I’m that age, I know people like that. Our generation does expect everything handed to us. Log in to Reply Jillian Bowe May 3, 2012 @Restless Vixen Uh, I am a HUGE card-carrying Caroline Manzo fan! When did I say it was NOT Tre’s fault?! That heifer likes to mix up in people’s biz but wants everyone out of hers. ALWAYS said that and pretty much did on the podcast. Log in to Reply luverica May 3, 2012 Luke, if I remember correctly, you’re a big fan of GAME OF THRONES. How come you’re not talking about it? Whether SOME fellow podcasters like it or not, GoT is both a big hit, with both critics and viewers, and damn near a phenomenon. We hear quite a bit about the broadcast fantasy shows but I think most will agree that GoT is the superior fantasy show and a greatly written and acted medieval drama in its own right, with some soap elements at that. Log in to Reply Jillian Bowe May 3, 2012 @Luverica who says WE don’t like GoT? This was a HUGH TV ep, we just didn’t have time to get to it. Log in to Reply luverica May 3, 2012 Jillian, I was under that impression that aside from Luke there wasn’t any love for GoT because I recall you saying how you kind of zoned out from the show after watching Queen Cersei and her brother Jamie being caught by little Bran walking it like a dog. I also recall Jamey not really getting into it. If I misunderstood or missed an episode where it was talked about and appreciated by some one other than Luke, then my bad. I’m happy to see that there’s some love for the show because I do think it’s the best show on television right now and its appeal seems to be stretching too many others, including my Mom, who don’t usually get into the fantasy based genre stuff. Log in to Reply thecourt99 May 3, 2012 I haven’t finished the podcast yet…but I have to get this off my chest. The only Housewife franchise I don’t like is OC. I think the thing with Nene on the Atlanta version is that Sheree is jealous. It sounds like a go to, but it’s true. Phaedra and Kandi have their own things. Kim has a spin off. Cynthia has her business. Nene has her show. Sheree has a failed clothing line, and still hasn’t gotten any settlement with her husband. Sheree is pretty much in the same place now as she was when the show started. So yeah…Nene has her moments, but she is stretching her 15 minutes and I can’t blame her. NJ is one of those situations where I blame Bravo. In the reunion for Season 1, Danielle brought up Teresa’s sister in law. I think Danielle is who tipped Bravo off to the family issues. I also think that there was a reason that Bravo got the Gorga’s to sign on before telling Teresa. It was the element of surprise. I will never forget one of Melissa’s first confessionals where she said “bet you didn’t know Teresa had a brother”. That told me that they just wanted recognition. I’m sorry, Melissa and Joe can’t claim that they want family unity…when they signed on to a TV show KNOWING that their conflict will be on TV. No need to be concerned about your parents now. I have no issue with Melissa trying to get her own hustle, but in this case, Teresa was established and Melissa joining on would do nothing but expose their issues, so IMO, Melissa knew what she was doing. Fast forward to the issues, I think that Teresa has been boxed into a corner and is lashing out. She is losing her friends and family and she can’t defend herself without looking like a bitch. So I fully understand her lashing out. I also think that Dina is supporting her because Dina was also a victim of Danielle’s meddling (the issues with her daughter). So she is probably mad that Caroline fell for the okeydoke. Dina understands Teresa’s actions…and for some reason, Caroline is not. I love Caroline to death…but there is something else going on here.
