General Hospital: Perkie's Observations

Heather tries to save Tea’s baby, but tells Todd that she’s done all she can, that the baby is gone because he wasn’t born strong enough. Todd wonders what he’ll tell Tea, since he’s already killed her husband. She was looking forward to the baby. He wonders what he’s going to do. Heather tells him to use his ingenuity and find a way out. She heads off to deal with Anthony’s body. Todd holds the dead baby and talks to him.

Sam thinks something is wrong with the baby and wonders why John hasn’t returned. She decides she can’t wait for him any longer and heads out to get help. Sam wanders around in the woods and comes across the shed, leaves the baby in a planter outside, walks in and promptly passes out. Todd sees Sam, hears her baby whimpering and finds him outside.

Tea’s talking to heavenly Victor, asking him to protect their son and that she knew something was wrong right away. She knows Todd will save him. She decides not to stay in the car and heads out, looking for Todd.

Jason shows up at the motel looking for Sam. Thinking she’s in her room, tells her through the door that the baby is part of her. John comes to and heads back to the motel to find Sam. Jason finds John’s room in disarray and finds Sam’s figurine. John shows up and tells him that he’s too late, that Sam had a baby boy and he delivered it.

Jason asks where Sam and the baby are. John explains that he went to get the car and was jumped by Jason’s goons. He says she couldn’t have gotten very far on her own. Jason goes to check and comes back saying there is no sign of her. John wonders what’s changed, since Jason didn’t want anything to do with the baby. Jason says he came to talk to Sam and that he needs to find her and his son.

Johnny finds Carly at the hotel and the two talk things through. Carly explains how she talked Jason into forgiving Sam and that she needs to take her own advice. Carly says she’s been a cheater and always regrets it, but that she was angry and hurt. Johnny asks if she can get past it and swears it was all about revenge. Carly says she can try to forgive, but that there can be no more lies, not even ones of omission or for her own good.

Johnny says there’s something she needs to know. He imagines telling her that he killed Anthony, caused the accident and that Carly freaks. He imagines her calling him a heartless bastard. So instead, he says Anthony is missing and thinks Lacey killed him. Carly thinks Anthony just took off on his own, since she can’t believe Luke would kill him. Johnny explains about shots fired at the Qs and police finding the blood.

Johnny promises to make things up to Carly and she accepts that, but warns him not to make her regret it. Johnny wants to seal it with a kiss.

Tea comes across Todd holding baby Morgan and thinks it’s her child and takes him from Todd. Heather returns and is surprised to see the baby alive. She explains that she breathed life into him. Tea thanks her for saving her son and sits bonding with the baby.

Heather wonders why Todd isn’t happier, but he takes her into the shed where Sam is lying and explains that it’s her baby and not Tea’s. Heather tells Todd that JaSam aren’t together anymore. She says Sam was likely abandoning her baby and to let Tea think the baby is hers. Todd insists he can’t do that. He asks what they would tell Sam about her baby. Heather says to give Sam, Tea’s dead baby, since Sam wanted her baby gone anyway.

Todd swears he would never do that to someone, but Heather feels everyone would be better off. She says she’ll take care of Sam and to take Tea to the hospital. Todd swears neither mother can know the truth. He goes to Tea and they coo over the baby before heading off to the hospital.

Heather mutters that Sam is getting exactly what she deserves.

where exactly is this motel located? In the middle of the woods? You’d think that would be bad for business. Was there no one else there, like a desk clerk that Sam could have gotten to help her? She has to wander off? And then she leaves the baby outside while she goes inside? What is this??? I just feel a baby switch could have been written better. I spent the entire time shaking my head thinking what the hell.

Plus, JOhn saw the baby, if he runs into Tea, he's bound to notice her baby looks awfully familiar.

I am not looking forward to how Sam will react to this, although I'm sure KeMO will bring her A game to it. There'd better be a ton of scenes with her being comforted by Alexis and not the idiot she's married to.

I was shocked when Johnny confessed to Carly. Totally didn't see that coming. But I thought it was interesting because I wondered if Carly would turn him in or keep quiet. Than it turned out it was just his thoughts and not reality and I'm disapointed because it means their reunion will be short lived, since he's lying so much his pants are on fire.

Regurgitated plot driven drivel, full of plotholes to boot. Will the crapfest ever end?

didn't the spoiler say that Tea's baby is actually alive???

what's the deal with that??

are they going to resolve this before the show goes off the air early next year or what??

it'd be mean if they ended the show with Tea keeping Sam's baby.

What a cheesy, campy, plot-driven mess this show has become.

After Anthony's murder wasn't near being realistic we now have this stupid baby switch??? I was shaking my head too and can not believe that this show has become a complete joke.

The baby switch wasn't done good. It was awfully set up and had plot-driven scream all over it. That Sam can be even near Heather, who's supposed to be in the middle of nowhere to bury a corpse is so stupid.

Don't even want to talk about Johnny/Carly. It's just sad that it's all set up to fail and you can see where this story is going. Big disappointment. -.-

Perkie, I was going to write the exact same thing. How did everyone end up in the woods? Especially Sam since she was walking? When they first showed her wandering down the country road I just about threw the remote at the TV. What kind of bull-$#!t writing is this? In fact the entire episode, except for Carly and Johnny was FF material...and even that is sad because we all know how that is going to turn out.

I'm hoping against hope, per the preview for Tuedsays show, that Todd comes clean to Tea and this horrible mess will be over. Then Sam can tell Jason to go shove it up his and seek comfort from her family...and even John. Well, a girl can hope can't she?

I keep telling myself to quit watching this hot mess, and maybe one of these days I will. But I still keep on thinking that it will get better. How dumb is that?!?!?

I hope this storyline keeps Todd and Heather in close proximity to each other, because I enjoyed their scenes. They make quite a pair!

And that Téa! She sure can't catch a break! What is about her that attracts homicidal maniacs!? First, she was mixed up with Todd, then it was Victor! Now she's got the Son of Sam! Wink

it's too bad Anthony is dead.

he and Heather could've been Port Charles' (loony) power couple.

I'm having trouble feeling sympathy for Sam. It seems like karma that she have her baby kidnapped. After she watched Jake get kidnapped, went to Liz and said he was probably dead, and then refused to help Liz find Jake with her stupid tv show, I think it's poetic justice.

The switch itself was stupid. The ride or die chick heads into the woods on a rainy night with a newborn only wrapped in a scarf and then leaves him in a plant box outside in the cold? WTF? I guess the lesson on how not to expose your newborn child to the elements was in one of the child birth classes that she missed.

How did Sam not hear Jason's conversation with her door? It's a cheesy motel with soundproof rooms? Weird.

What happened to Johnny? The Johnny that I love would never frame Lulu's father for murder. THis is just another part of the character destruction of Johnny. Are they trying to ruin him so no one cares when they fire him?

Please for the love of all things holy..WHY?!?! Even I don't want to watch Sam have to think for even a second that she lost a second child at birth.

When my hubby can figure out a plot on a soap scene for scene before it happens then the writing has more holes than swiss cheese. I don't mind soapy goodness but don't insult my intelligence. I think I might have been ok if the switch was implied and I didn't actually have to watch it.

I liked Todd and Heather..I was almost waiting for Heather to kick Sam while she was unconscious.

Well at least GH has moved from putting your baby in a tree to a planter box.

Sam leaves the baby (son of Sam *snickers*)outside, in a planter box, in the cold--yeah, that just screams "mother of the year." I never really saw her as mother material, but I did wonder if her maternal instincts would kick in at some point during the pregnancy--guess not. On a side note, what the hell is wrong with these writers? Didn't RC fire all but two of the GH writers and replace them mostly with writers from OLTL; and I was a huge OLTL fan BEFORE my hatred of all things Starr, but this is ridiculous.

Tea came to PC only to lose her child?

Instead of calling 911, Sam decides to leave a motel room that has a
landline and front desk services and she goes out walking in the rain
looking for John?

Since all roads in PC lead to that shack, Sam walks to the same shack,
decides to place her baby in a wet & dirty planter’s box?

Tea spent the last months on OLTL mourning Victor, and now she is going to bond with a child that isn’t hers, only to mourn again once she finds out the truth. Even if Tea's child is resurrected, RC did the same story with Starr and Jessica. If he had to do another baby switch he could have tweaked it by keeping both babies alive from the beginning.

Well if she would've stayed in the motel room and her child would've died from not getting any air everyone would be complaining all about how she didn't love her child enough to leave and get help. If she would've taken the baby in with her to the shed, she would've fallen with the baby in her arms and everyone would be all about how rotten she was for falling and passing out while holding her baby and how the baby could've been killed because of her. Hell, I loved me some Robin, but even Sam knew not to shove her baby up in a tree. Sam had to go the way she went so the be all to end all original recipe rapist sent over to save this show and the crazy loon of a super bitch could pull off this switch. Is it smart? Nope. Could any of us have written it better? Probably yep. But it is what it is.

Super Jase and McBain bonding in the motel room after noticing Sam was gone and neither of them thought to go after Sam right away? Weird. Jason calling the "your baby" his own after he found out she had a boy? Completely stupid. Todd letting yet another woman think her baby had died? I guess he's learned nothing since giving away his own son ages ago and then watching his own daughter mourn the loss of hers. Sure he felt bad for Tea, but again, it is what it is. I did like McBain's line about how Jason didn't want the baby.

McBain soaking wet in the rain was kind of hot, but it only lasted for a few seconds.

I hope Alexis gives Jason some mighty hell soon. I've been waiting for her to have a mama bear moment. Let her show Jason some of that Cassadine crazy she's got buried in her.

I watched this episode in shock....and not in a good way. There were WAYYYY too many plot contrivances for this to make any sense.

Sam didn't know she was going to fall out, so why leave the baby outside in a storm as she goes inside? She's warm and the baby is cold?

All that screaming from Tea and Todd and they were within walking distance of a motel?

What kind of motel doesn't have a front desk? At a minimum, act like the viewers are smart. Have someone pick up the phone and say that the landline phones are down. Have someone knock on the door, and the front desk dude is out to lunch. Knock on a couple of other doors to see if anyone else is staying there. It doesn't take too much time...but ooooh, if Sam made too much noise then Jason might have heard her. We can't have that. We can't have Jason help her. It doesn't fit the narrative. Jason always has to be too late.

Why invest in Johnny and Carly when he starts off lying to her again? Carly was better off with Shawn.

Tea didn't really see her child, but Sam saw hers and so did McBain. How is this really going to last any length of time?

Actually, I would not have had a problem with Sam staying in the motel where it was safe and warm. By the way, is this the only motel in the country without a fire alarm she could pull to get firefighters there? We know at least one road to the motel was open because Jason arrived just fine. She also could have gone door to door looking for another resident of the motel to drive her to the hospital, or are she and McBain supposed to be the only ones staying at the motel? There were many options that didn't include leaving the motel and wondering into the woods.

OK- So I didn't watch OLTL so I don't know Todd or Tea.. I want Tea to give my girl her baby back. But here is the thing- whats up with Todd?? First he not only takes Sam's baby but then he leaves her with a women who is clearly crazy carting a dead body around. On top of that the crazy lady knows Sam and doesn't like her because she is giving the baby away. He didn't even call 911 after he got cell service.. Is he totally evil or what? His acting style reminds me of Clock Work Orange.

Poor Sam- as far as I am concerned if you don't like her no matter what she does isn't going to be right. I firgured she set the baby down because she didn't have energy left from blood loss. I think she just wanted to see who was there. I adored the way she kept saying baby this baby that. However her poor long maternity dress was about to trip her now that she doesn't have a tummy..

For all the talk of the wonderful new personality Sam will have thanks to John, the storylines for Sam remain the same. She is a) depressed b ) broken c) subservient to the men in her life. This will be all about Jason and John and how they cope with their woman and her issues. Sam is now in the exact same role all of John's harem were in on OLTL - they were each weak, damaged, and constantly having issues about babies or miscarriages.

I haven't had any respect for Carly in a long time but that is now LESS than zero since she took back a man she was calling a rapist only weeks ago. She is disgusting. And so is Ron Carlivati's handling of rape on his soaps.

Robin Mattson is great to watch. Put her with Roger Howarth and it was awesome. I FFWDed everything else.
I cannot stand Carly treating her casual relationship with Johnny as something that can overcome the fact he raped a mentally-ill woman (Carly named what Johnny did to Kate/Kate RAPE to his face!)

There are so many holes in the plots on GH. As a soap fan, I can look past ridiculous and contrived if the story is good but the stories aren't good on GH so I am focused on the plot holes, like the geography of Port Charles and how everyone can travel/call safely unless they were delivering babies! I thought McBain and Sam were boarding above Kelly's. Jason hiring thugs (who of course have to be Black and Hispanic) to beat John when it could only be traced back to him or Sonny is senseless. Jason is the hired thug! That's supposed to intimidate McBain into leaving town? Why not just have him killed? Worst is that Jason will not suffer consequences for this crime which directly resulted in McBain being unable to get Sam and her baby to a hospital! I wonder if Sam will make the connection.

Also, Sam McCall is on five days a week and supposed to be the show's lead female character. Even if one doesn't like her, its nearly impossible to watch GH and not have thoughts on her and what she does. I have never liked Sam McCall because she is such a propped-up and poorly developed character. Since she's not going anywhere can she atleast not be frontburnered in depressing story? She is incredibly unsympathetic, yet is on my screen crying about trauma continuously. I am supposed to feel sympathy for her but I only feel irritation in her every scene (admittedly, save a few times when she has flirted with McBain.) Sam's unreasonably dumb and dangerous behavior, like roaming through the woods with her naked baby in the cold and rain. Seriously?!. I dread watching her mourn another dead baby and not registering an ounce of sympathy for this forced character.

Where's Patrick, Liz, Anna and Mac? These characters are incredibly watchable and yet never seen. Argh.

As a former OLTL fan, I just imagined this episode was an epilogue of OLTL and the GH players were supporting. It helped me invest in the "baby-switch" storyline. Then I became sad because I thought about Blair, Viki, Dorian (and I am ashamed to admit Dani) and what they were up to and how they would respond to Tea's baby boy Sad

OMG what a terrible Sam/baby switch storyline. Really? Putting a baby in a planter, writers? Not since Robin put Emma in a tree has a plot line been so craptastic, and I'm a Liz fan. Sam is smarter than than this writing, IMO. Ain't no way Sam woulda put that baby down after waiting so long to have one again.

Eve if she didn't have energy left, why put the baby down outside in the middle of a storm, right next to a door that leads inside. Even if she was just looking, why put the baby down outside while it is storming? If she had held the baby and passed out inside with the baby in her arms, I wouldn't question it. And while I am not a fan of Sam, my beef isn't with Sam in this one. It is with the overall plot based pile of crap that was this entire episode. It was insulting, because I don't think that Sam would EVER do that.

The only other thing I noticed with the "storm" was that it didn't seem to be raining anymore. I am a West Coast girl but have been in a few East Coast humid storms. I felt like when I was watching it at that point it wasn't raining anymore and may have been warmer.

I was just curious about other people staying at the hotel. I know the land lines were down but I wasn't sure why she didn't knock on any doors. I guess that didn't look like a hotel a lot of doctors stay at I don't know..

However they were just all lame plot points for me.

OMG- No other character do I despise more. I am always baffled when people talk smack about Alexis or Liz's parenting. I never see Carly with the kids she cares and fight for so much. WTH was she going to the hotel at night in a storm. Go tuck your baby in! She should have let Jax have her. But I have always felt Alexis only loved Kristina and she only loves Michael..
