General Hospital: Perkie's Observations

Sam insists that her baby didn’t die and that this isn’t the baby she gave birth to. She says she knows her son, that he looked like Jason and that someone took her baby and replaced him with this one. Sam says they need to find her son, but Jason just wants to take her to the hospital.

Todd tells Starr that Kate has DID and her alter was responsible for Hope and Cole's death.  Starr understands the deal with Sonny and Michael recanting.  Todd doesn’t want her hanging out with Michael, but Starr says he isn’t a threat to her because she has no reason to hate Sonny. Todd says he understands about revenge and that they shouldn’t do things they’ll regret.

Maxie and Matt are celebrating their wedding night.  Matt still can’t believe that she went to prison for him and is sorry she didn’t get the wedding of her dreams.  She’s just glad he’s free.  As Matt is popping the champagne cork he remembers killing Lisa. Maxie tells him not to think about it, but Matt is shocked that he killed her the way that he did, and not in self defense as he had thought.  Maxie wants
him to forget it all.  After his shower they kiss goodnight and he wishes her a happy wedding night as she turns to her side in the bed.

At Jake’s Felicia and Mac are hoping Mataxie will be okay, even though Mac has doubts about Matt.  Felicia says she feels sorry for Spinelli.  Mac wonders if she’ll be leaving, but Felicia says she and Maxie are getting along better. She wonders why Mac is still single and he jokes about playing strip poker, but things not working out with the women.  She asks why and he says they weren’t her.

Felicia admits they had good times together and Mac says they don’t have to be behind them and leans in for a kiss just as Spinelli stumbles in. He’s there to grab a drink and toast to Mataxie, finding it ironic that he brought them together.  Mac and Felicia try to get him sober.  Spinelli complains that he should have left things as they were, because Matt can’t make Maxie happy like he can.

Tea is still not sure who the baby looks like when Todd returns and assures her that he looks like Victor.  Todd wonders what difference it makes who he looks like.  Epiphany comes to get the baby to take to the nursery despite Tea’s begging not to.  Pif offers to let Todd bring the baby himself which Tea agrees to.

As Todd is leaving Tea’s room with the baby, Jason wheels in Sam and the deceased baby.  Todd turns away so they don’t see him, walks off, but listens in. Jason tells Pif that Sam had the baby in a motel room. Epiphany wants to take the baby, but Sam says if she lets him go, he’ll be gone.  Piph says he’s with the angels now and Sam breaks down saying he’s supposed to be with her.

Kate is arguing with Connie, saying Sonny believes in her and understands her.  Connie wonders why she let Johnny talk her into this and Kate wants to know what she is talking about.  Starr sneaks into Kate’s room telling her that she knows Kate is the one who caused the accident and says she needs to hear Kate admit it.  Kate says she’s the one that fired the gun that caused the crash.

Kate says Starr tried to kill Sonny, and wants to know what she is planning on doing to her.  Kate says she doesn’t remember anything and explains she’s sick.  Starr says she understands, since she has relatives with DID. Starr says it was so much easier to blame Sonny, since he’s a horrible criminal who’s never paid for anything, but that she can’t hate Kate.  Kate’s glad it’s out in the open and apologizes.  Starr says she wanted to know to get closure, but she still can’t move on without them.

Kate understands if Starr is angry that she isn’t behind bars, but Starr says one day Kate will be cured and will remember what she’s done and will have to live with that.

The doctor examines Sam and tells Jason that physically, she’ll be alright.  Jason asks about the baby and the doctor says they’ll know more after the autopsy.  He says he’s given Sam a sedative to help her sleep.

Sam says she doesn’t understand what happened and thinks if she had gotten help, he’d be okay.  She says John told her he was getting the car but didn’t come back and if he had the baby would be alive.
Jason tells her not to blame John so Sam asks who she should blame.  The nurse comes in to shoo Jason out, saying Sam needs her rest.

Todd goes back to Tea’s room and tells her he can make arrangements for them to go back to Llanview tonight, since she’d be more comfortable.  Pif overhears and says they aren’t going anywhere tonight, but they can go tomorrow if the doctor gives the okay.

Tea says she’s naming the baby Victor, after his father.  Sam tells Jason she was going to name the baby Jason after him.

I couldn’t believe that this was still Mataxie’s wedding day. This has got to be the longest day in the history of days and that’s saying a lot with this show and its monthdays.

Fantastic Epiphany/Sam scene. Far more moving than anything with Jason before it. I’m still hoping for Sam to find out what happened to John that kept him away.

I can certainly see why people would think Sam is losing it. The whole "someone came and changed my baby with this baby" doesn't sound like normal talk. It's true, but it will make her sound loony.

I hate the name Victor, so I'm really hoping that once Sam gets that gorgeous baby back that she doesn't keep the name, you know, to make the transition easier blah blah blah. I also hope she doesn't call him Jason because that's just lame.

Good Kate/Starr scenes.

I’m not minding Felicia/Mac, although I get the eerie feeling that they’ll be leaving town together and that’s how tptb will be getting rid of JJY.

I do not want to see a Spixie reunion, which is where I fear we’re going.

And because I don’t say it often enough, shut up Spinelli.

OMG- I loved Sam today. I swear that girl is such a great crier, she has to be one of the best in daytime. Her eyes have always been so expressive!!

I don't want Mac wasted on Felicia- or Luke on Anna-please a Mac and Anna duo would make me so happy..

Please no Spixie!!!

I liked the Star and Kate scenes but Star's acting still does nothing for me. I don't know if it's just compared to watching grief with JT, RH or Kemo- but her's fall flat.. Speaking of where is Patrick?!?!

Again- Kemo was freaking fantastic!! Still struck by how young she has been looking...

Boo! I wanted Sam to name the baby after her brother Danny, the fact that Sam would've named her son, whom her douchetastic husband asked her to give up for adoption is farfetched and silly to me. With that being said I wished it was Alexis who were there to comfort Sam at the hospital. I'm waiting for the reveal that doucheborg Jason sent thugs after McBain which imo lead to the switch being able to happen in the first place.

Jason Cook looks so much younger and cuter without the beard, but I found myself bored with their scenes, I wanted to get back to the TnT/Sam stuff at the hospital.
Glad they showed Starr sympathizing with her cousin Jessica..I mean Kate with the whole DID thing. KA was actually tolerable in those scenes, must be something in the LA water, because she was decent on OLTL.

Although I recorded the episode and FFWDed much of it, it still felt like a very long episode.

I kinda liked Mac and Felicia, they look good together. I don't like how Mac has not even dated offscreen and referred to Diane and Alexis as if they were actual options that he did not pursue because they were not Felicia. BS! I hope Mac is just spitting game!

Spinelli is a waste. Matt looks better with a beard. And just because Maxie and Matt married to prevent Matt from going to prison, they do not have to "celebrate" a honeymoon or not be truthful with each other. Their interactions make no sense. One moment they are declaring undying love/devotion and behaving so awkwardly. Why is it that Matt was so drunk that infamous night because he was medicating his feelings for Elizabeth and that fact is NEVER mentioned?! So long Jason Cook. I barely knew Matt Hunter but I assume he'll be confessing to the police any day now.

Sam: Naming her baby Jason? Really?! After Jason's behavior throughout her pregnancy, the fact she would even consider it is absurd. Hell, it'd make more sense that she'd name her baby boy John or Mick (McBain). Perhaps when she is reunited with her baby boy, she'll name him after John or even her brother Danny.

Tea: Victor? Really?! Her husband was a rapist and psycho who was named after a horrible man who raped his own daughter for years. Wow. Argh. Like Perkie, I hate the name Victor but knowing the history of Victor Lord and Victor Lord, Jr. from OLTL made that moment a real WTH?

I was fan of oltl. I hope they end the current who killed Cole/Hope story. Frankly I don't care. I think if it was on oltl it would have greater impact. There is a point of which the writers might be toooooo mysterious on where all this is going. As a fan of this team I hope they realize this.

I do think KM/ME are much better together. Having said that, time for Jason to feel like he needs to leave town. Either Sonny or Jason has to go to really change GH. As long as both are on show, the concept of the show will not grow. (Keep in mind the mob fans are not enough to keep show on air) Balancing act to keep mob fans while trying to add fans who do not worship Sonny/Jason. Somehow I don't see either actor walking away from the money they are making. The writers have to be real.

As far as Starr. On oltl she was great and good fit. Doesn't seem to be transferring to GH. I would solve Cole/Hope mystery and move her on sooner rather than later.

I was hoping Sam would name him Alan.. But I feel like the baby name thing was more to go back and fourth between Tea and her baby naming. I like the new style of shooting- it keeps from getting stuck on one sets dialogue..

I also thought that Kemo did better in her scenes with Epiphany. Still having trouble feeling bad for her since we know her baby didn't die. I keep feeling really bad for Tea. She is going to lose it when she finds out about the switch. I think it will be worse than if she had been told right away that her baby died.

I like Mac and Felicia together, but I thought that Mac forgiving Felicia so easily reeked of desperation. I want better for Mac. Felicia should be trying to win him back, not vice versa.

I miss Patrick and Emma Sad

I just want to FF through the Matt and Maxie story and press play again when JC is playing Shawn D on DOOL again.

I love SE's Epiphany. I know people complain about her gruffness, but I love her to pieces when she gets to share the stage and shine. I was wishing we would've had more to the scene with her and Sam yesterday than just the wonderful line about the baby being with the angels now. SE was wonderful with Patrick after Robin "died" and she was great with Sam yesterday. I just wish she would've mentioned to Todd in their scene that it was Sam's 2nd baby to pass because he needs to feel some major guilt about putting Sam through that. Oh, and Sam's line about how the baby is supposed to be with her made me bawl big old baby tears.

Hell no to the Jason Jr business. When a man says you can give your baby up for adoption and try again with him later on, you don't name said baby after the douchebag in question. I hope that was just the drugs talking. That baby's name should be Daniel after her brother, the one man in the whole world who actually loved her as much as she loved him.

Yes Jason, who's fault is it that McBain didn't come right back?

Matt and Maxie didn't "seal the marriage deal" on the marriage night, so it can be annulled right? Did Maxie marry Matt to keep him out of jail or so that she could really stick it to Spinelli who she thinks betrayed her by telling the truth. I'm not sure either way. All 3 people in the story are miserable.

NO MAC!!! Run away from Felicia now!

I wonder if Tea doesn't already know about her baby deep down?

The only thing good I can say about GH right now is that KeMo deserves an Emmy. If for nothing other than portraying the most beat down character in the history of GH, she should win. Raped. Cast aside by her husband after rape. Found out rapist was her husband's long lost twin brother. Husband further cast her aside. (some might even call it mental abuse but hey, Jason's the show's hero, right?) Now: baby switch. Even if these sets of events weren't so misogynistic, they'd still ask a lot of this actress. In a story so dreadful we should all be covering our eyes and looking away, it's a near miracle that we, at least some of us, are still rooting for Sam (and I've never been a Sam fan).

KeMo was always ill-used. Sam's been written every which way to satisfy plot stupidity. But please, allow Sam to come out of this a changed and determined woman who has NO need for a brain damaged hit man with a "heart" of gold. Wait, I'm entering my GH fantasy world.

I was always a Mac + Felecia fan. But he needs to sew his seeds elsewhere for a while. Gratuitous shiftlessness would be appreciated. Although JJY doesn't seem to fit what this regime likes their leading men to look like. Shame. GH is forcing too many relationships instead of allowing them grow. Luke + Anna feels like Guza's Luke + Felecia. Forced and a bit incestuous. I'd buy Luke + Anna as new BFF's. The do share a lot of history. But I don't buy Anna Devane going for Luke. She could do better. Hell, who couldn't? Now if Anna used Luke to get dirt on his pal Sonny...wait, I just entered by GH fantasy world again.

Starr and NuKate's scenes were laughably bad for me. Since everyone in Llanview caught DID during this regime's much heralded reign, I guess we are supposed to believe that Starr and NuKate have some sort of bond. I can't enjoy any DID scene. It's so badly done and so disrespects the audience's intelligence that I want to throw a shoe at the screen. Starr's histrionics worked for about 2 scenes for this soap fan. But hey, rumor has it that she's going to be singing on the show soon. JOY JOY. When ratings are stagnant, when a show faces almost certain cancellation, why not have its most annoying character sing a song or two. This regime is brilliant! A bright spot: the singing can be no worse than the acting.

Three months into the GH/OLTL merger, I can't help but see GH slipping further away. Sure, we have our few veteran characters as window dressing. They do work to appease this soap fan on a good day. But there's too many characters I care nothing about added to too many long time GH characters with zero redeemable qualities. Stoic and boring McBain being the possible exception, I don't see what the merger has brought to GH. It's only give us more to fast forward through.

GH, in its last days, could have returned to its roots, could have written for the characters we cared about. I guess I'll go back to my GH fantasy world. What's on the screen just doesn't cut it.

Kelly Monaco was OUTSTANDING in yesterday's scenes!!!!! Love

Loved the scene Sam had with Epiphany!!!

Jason is still a douchebag!!! I can't wait for Sam to learn what happened to John!!!

Todd is a schmuck!!! Can Sam please have her son back now and Todd take Tea and Starr back to Llanview as quickly as possible and never come back?

The nuKate/Starr scenes and nuMaxie/Matt scenes were beyond boring!

I love Mac but really, this is the best they can write for him? What a waste of a HOT man and a talented actor!

So, I'm not watching very closely, but is there any chance that the baby Sam has is a third baby and Tea/Victor's baby is still alive?

Kelly Monaco does deserve the emmy - she had me crying. She made it seem so real. There are others thaat lose children on soaps that hardly shed a tear. She was really hysterical crying.

Wednesday on Friday...reviews that are hit and miss have gotten to be a habithere in PC...but, here goes...

My goodness. This had to be one of the most unenthusiastic soap wedding
nights I've ever looked in on. And yes, I know Matt got his murder memories back. I'm not discounting that aspect. I'd guess that one's libido would be a tad affected upon realizing you didn't kill in self defense. More a case of reeling back, swinging that wrench and hearing it connect with someone's skull. And not hesitating, drunk or not. "Try not to think about it..." Hard not to. And Matt is. "...You knew...Why didn't you say something?" "...It's over." "...It's real now." Not just the gut churning guilt of what he's done. There's the knowledge that their marriage is nothing more than a cover for a crime he can't take back. And by the look on Maxie's face thinking of Spinelli, I believe she's having second thoughts...

They're celebrating. Partially. "I can't believe our daughter's free. I just wish it didn't include marriage to Matt." Of course, if Maxie had married Spinelli, Mac wouldn't be pleased either. Felicia's just relieved her eldest is out of jail and I'm gonna take a guess, judging by their little lean toward a kiss (before the noisy interruption), that she's going with the flow that her ex seems to be signaling. It's a shame Alexis or Diane aren't in the mix. Those strip pool scenes were hysterical. They might've had a "ready made" triangle or quad. Mac/Felicia/Diane/Alexis. Hmm. Who would Mac pick? Bring Frisco in, that's five. Throw in Coleman for an even six. Nah, it'll never happen... Puzzled

His entrance mirrors the pinball machine he slams into. I do feel for BA's Spinelli. A little comeuppance for past sins within the mob? In matters of the heart, he is much like the sad, put upon clown, Canio, in Mascagni's
"I Pagliacchi", betrayed and made a fool of by the woman he loves. But he will never trade what he's had with her, despite her actions: "A toast...
Mattameesta..." A pause to reset. "...Maxie and Matt. And to me. The fool who brought them together." Despite Mac and Felicia's efforts to lift his spirits (loved KM's smack to JJY: "Little help here. Back me up."), he remains a figure of dejection. "...you have a friendship for the ages..."
"Who cares?...Love is what matters...as usual, I've fooled myself...missed our chance..." At least for now?...

Todd telling Starr about Kate shooting out the tires felt like one of those moments where "I'd rather be honest with you about this as opposed to hiding it." By doing that he puts it on her as to what she does with the information. It also sets him up hoping his daughter A) Doesn't go to see Kate (which she does anyway), and B) that she stays away from Jr. (which you know she also won't. 'Cause that's what TPTB have decreed)...

I don't know how a mental health facility operates but isn't it a bit odd (if not imprudent) to have a patient be in possesion of a mirror (really any glass object)? That she could break, cut herself, slash her wrists in a fit of depression? Maybe "Connie" would prevent Kate from going there. Or Kate would just be so racked with guilt and despair that she wants to be free of this alter that has made her life a living nightmare. As if the bully wasn't enough. "Every time I catch sight of (him) I can't get rid of the freakin' guy. He's relentless." Hmm. I'm wondering how long it'll be before Kate (and Starr), find out "Connie's" been framed for the blow out...

I'm glad KA seemed to be "reined in" so to speak. The confrontation with KSul's equally subdued Kate could have disintegrated into out of control of weeping, wailing and hand wringing. "I...wondered why you were so nice...you knew!..." "...I didn't know...I don't remember...I don't expect you to understand." "Actually, I do." I'd guess Starr's refering to her OLTL relatives serves to facilitate any future "visits" from those two characters. (Oh, joy, not. Sorry.) It would be easier to have the bully be responsible. "He's a horrible person...he has never paid for anything...." As it is, we have to suffer Kate's poor judgement in a life partner. As well as how she'll have to deal with Starr's declaration: "There are all kinds of punishments...you'll remember everything...and you'll have to live with that." If Kate was actually guilty, that's more than enough of a life sentence, emotionally speaking...

At this point, I'm not affected by what Tea may or may not have in store for her. I don't "know" her. If she's "lost" her child, forgive me, but I don't care. She can go back to Llanview as far as I'm concerned. Preferably without Sam's baby. Sigh... Puzzled

Her insistence that her child lying still and silent in her arms, isn't hers makes the scenes between KM and SE so heartbreaking. Epiphany is gentle, calm and respectful taking the bundled body from the grieving mother. "You need to let me take him now." "...He can't really be gone." "He's with the angels now." "He's supposed to be with me." Plaintive, a whimper. The wise, kind and yes, sometimes gruff head nurse is focused and tender with Sam. It's so easy to feel that aching release of her grasping hands as she let's go of the son she believes is her own. Watching it all is RoHo's Todd, rooted behind the hub, conflicted,
convicted, unable (and unwilling), to come forward with the thruth that he's cradling in his arms. And Jason? Pffft. He was there, but not much else. I really don't like saying that. KM and SE carried that scene as did KM in the cubicle, her bewilderment at a missing McBain coming to the fore. I'm looking forward to her reaction when it's found that her husbands "goon therapy" on McBain has caused theis sorrow she's drowning in now...

Still hoping for light in a dark PC...till next time...
Swan! Innocent
