NATAS Chairman Vows 40th Annual Daytime Emmys Will Be Televised; Talks Hybrid Sports, News, Daytime Kudocast

NATAS Chairman Malachy Wienges is willing to stake his reputation on the Daytime Emmys being telecast in 2013. In an interview with Variety, Wienges revealed he already has several networks and production companies interested in the show, including HLN owner Turner. On the odds of getting the show on the air again, Wienges said:

“I guarantee my reputation on it,” he said. “I didn’t spend 31 years at CBS to give it all up.

The article also reveals NATAS is considering a new, hybrid, televised Emmy show that would "combine elements of the Daytime Emmys, Sports Emmys and News & Documentary Emmys." Don't panic. The new broadcast wouldn't take the place of any of the existing telecasts, said Wienges.
