SNL’s Seth Meyers Denies Rumors He’s Permanently Replacing Regis on ‘Live’

Saturday Night Live head funny bone tickler Seth Meyers is saying not so fast to rumors he'll be permanently sliding in to Regis Philbin's old seat on Live With Kelly. Meyers, who has been co-hosting with Kelly Ripa all this week, addressed the scuttlebutt about him becoming a full-time fixture on the syndicated chatfest with the Sun-Sentinel. Here's an excerpt:

“No, no, no, no, no,” Meyers said by phone from New York on Monday afternoon. “I know [Reege’s replacement] is a very important thing down there. But, right now, what I would say to you: I’m really in love with the job I have. I’m very excited to be going back [to “SNL”] for the election season, which is always fun.”

Well I guess that settles that! Who would you like to see fill Reege's shoes? Sound off in the comments!

I agree on Anderson. He needs someone to work off. He’s the “straight” guy and I find him hilarious in his interactions with Kelly and Kathy Griffin. I don’t like him on his solo daytime show.
