General Hospital: Perkie's Observations

Luke wakes up to find Lulu at his bedside. He asks about Anna. Lulu reassures him that Anna’s fine and dealing with Heather.  Lulu apologizes for not realizing something was off, especially when she found Heather at the Star.  She tells Luke that she believed the forged note. She thought he was a coward and doubted her own marriage.  Luke tells her that Heather knows how to manipulate and not to concern herself.

Anna stops by to see Luke, relieved that he’ll be alright.  She tells him that he saved her life, but Luke points out that she saved his first, which means they are responsible for each other’s lives.  Luke says he needs to tell her something about how Robert left.  Anna interrupts, asking what if Robin didn’t die?  Anna tells him what Heather told her, but Luke feels it’s just Heather being cruel. She’s trying to make Anna crazy and he doesn’t want Heather to win.  Anna finally agrees that he’s right.

The nurse brings real Robin her meal and finds the bed empty.  Robin hits her and runs out.   The orderly grabs her and returns her to her room, kicking, screaming and ties her to the bed.  Robin pleads for Patrick and her parents to come find her.

Lulu asks a nurse about Olivia and Patrick’s status, but the nurse tells her that Patrick didn’t check himself into the hospital.

Patrick answers his door to find Ghost Robin, who tells him that he needs to get rid of the drugs.  Patrick says he doesn’t know what he’s doing without her, that everywhere he looks is empty.  Robin tells him that he doesn’t need the pills and it will hurt Emma. Patrick says no one understands what he’s going through; the pills make him stop feeling and she has to help him.  Suddenly Ghost Robin says that Patrick needs to help her.

Patrick asks how he can help her, but Ghost Robin goes back to talking about hurting Emma with the pills and that he doesn’t need to take them because he feels her everywhere.  Patrick says it’s not enough for him and Robin spits out that she’s alive. This makes Patrick happy and claims she’s not in his head. Lulu shows up and Ghost Robin disappears.  Patrick looks for her, but Lulu says Robin isn’t there that he’s seeing what he wants.  Lulu wants him to check himself into the hospital and get treatment. It’s what Robin would want and to listen to her.

Heather’s happy to see Steve at the PCPD, thinking that he’s there to help her. However, Steve says he’s not there to help her get out, but to make sure she’s stays locked up forever.  Heather is shocked, but Steve points out that Olivia might not recover and that he wanted to believe Heather.  Steve says she’s certifiable, which makes Heather angry.  Steve calls her a murderer and tells her that he knows she killed Maggie.  Heather swears she did it for him; otherwise he’d be in prison.  Steve tells her that he’s revoking his guardianship because she should never have gotten out in the first place.

Todd ignores Heather’s call, but locks the DNA letter up in his safe.  Starr shows up, concerned about him because she cares.  Todd assures her that he’ll bounce back, but Starr’s worried he’ll retaliate.    Todd blames McBain, saying Blair would have forgiven him and feels John needs to be eliminated, something Starr tries vehemently to discourage.  Starr tells him to find another woman.

A pensive Johnny tells Carly that he’s thinking about Kate and explains about her visit with Sonny and how she wanted to remember his visit to the PCPD.  Johnny tells Carly that Connie kissed him, but he broke it off and wanted Carly to know the whole truth.

Michael arrives and mentions Carly being out late, because he and Starr overheard her and Johnny in the office. Carly denies that and figures he was likely distracted by Starr.  Michael explains that he’s meeting Sonny for breakfast to tell him about Starr.  Starr shows up and mentions she’s worried about her father, which piques Carly’s interest.

Sonny and Kate wake up together all lovey-dovey.  He asks her to join him and Michael for brunch.   At the restaurant, Michael’s surprised that Sonny brought Kate. Sonny’s surprised at Starr’s presence.  Kate offers to leave, but Starr won’t let her.  Sonny’s curious about this meeting. Michael tells him that he and Starr are dating.  Sonny’s a little concerned, but Michael says Starr has apologized for what she did. Starr hopes Sonny will get past it. Kate says Starr has been gracious towards her, but hopes someday to remember what she did.  Michael wants them all to put the past behind them.

Todd has the picture of John and Sam kissing on the docks and decides to mail it to Natalie.  Carly arrives and reminds Todd that he promised not to go after Johnny. She says that right now he has one friend in her, but won’t have that if he does something.  After she’s gone, Todd watches the video of Johnny’s office and sees Connie’s visit.

Luke calls Tracy, saying they need to talk.  Lulu leads Patrick out of the house and he turns to see Robin, but closes the door to her. The nurse hooks real Robin up to an ECG machine to shock her.  Anna goes back to the PCPD and orders Heather to tell her about Robin.

Ah, Faison, how I miss him! I could see Ewen being his son also, but I'd rather him be a long last Cassadine or Jerry Jax's son.

Definitely want Alan & Georgie back as well!!
A long time ago I came up with a story that had Georgie alive, and Frisco was doing Faison's bidding b/c he was keeping her.

Yep...I'm a week late on this one...but there was lots in PC this day...

He listens to Heather's threats for the umpteenth time, shutting the DNA results into his safe. "That woman is going to ruin my life." His daughter catches the tail end of his mutterings. Knowing what's transpired with her parents, she says the obvious. "...Mom?" Where I find KA's work with KdeP (forgive me), boring, when she's with RoHo the dynamic between them is well defined, delivered with sarcasm and sincerity, offering room for some great one liners. Especially when it comes to Todd's settling on McBain as his "blame game go to" guy: "...the look on his face a cross between glee and having to go real bad." (had to be improv) "...John is not responsible..." Losing Blair compounds his disappointment even as Starr urges him "...open up your heart...meet other women." "You sound like a greeting card." Despite the humor here, you know he won't listen to her about McBain. And when she finds out about his part in the baby switch, I'm sure she won't listen to him. And you know he'll probably find a way to blame McBain for that...

The most I'll say about Kate and the bully waking up in bed together is that KSul had a truly confused "Where the h**l am I and why?" look when she opened her eyes...

BrBa is one of a handful of actors on GH who have a great ability to look
pensive. Very appropos for John, considering what he's hiding and how he's got to keep it that way. Not to mention who it will cost him if it ever comes to light. "You look serious..." Split second calculation. He goes with it. "Kate." In answer to Carly's query, he again calculates. Hesitates, then goes with a spin on most of the truth. ""Connie" kissed me...I pushed her away. I don't want to keep things from you."
"...unreciprocated kiss...? I...can handle that." Dodged that bullet. Up next, Jr. with his innocent "We heard you in your office." statement. John should thank Carly that she catches this one without knowing it, teasing her son about his time frame oblivion because of "something or someone."
"Mom. Don't be weird." The light moment masks his relief even as he enjoys sharing in Carly's amusement at Jr.'s expense. When Starr arrives, there are warm congrats all around to go with her slight dread of the coming sit down with Jr.'s father and her real concern for Todd. The bully and his surprise guest causes not just awkwardness but consternation. Enough that John can't help but make sure his ears are in a good spot during brunch...

The bully is the male equivalent of Debby Downer. (Although, more recently Jason has held that title. I digress.) Give props to the kids for A) Honesty: "Starr and I are together." and B) Not backing down: "...We don't need your permission." Props to Kate, too, for diffusing the table tension. While it's difficult for her and Starr, the bully still has a massively bruised ego as a result of this "little girl" who almost got the best of him. Jr. going to bat for her is bad enough. His girlfriend restraining him while he bristles is it's own reward to watch. And John listens...

Todd letting McBain off? Nah. Just zip that lip lock snap shot off to "She's not my favorite niece" Natalie. Probably thinks he's doing her a favor. Same as Carly thinks she's doing Todd a favor by being his one friend. Yeah, like that's gonna last. Can you say "streaming video"?...

She's at his bedside when he wakes up. "Hey." A weak upturn of his lips.
"Hi, darlin." The whispery greeting combined with a blossoming smile. "Hi!
How are you feeling?" "Like I swam the English Channel." He stops her from going to get a nurse. "How's Slim?" "Anna's fine." The fact that Heather's in custody cheers Luke but sets L on an apology tour. "I should've known
...I'm your daughter..." "You did nothing wrong." "...she forged a
letter...I thought you were...running..." "...been a lot of that..."
"...not this time...had me doubting my marriage...What's wrong with me?" "Stop it!" Firmly. "Heather knows...what to say to get...what she wants." His assurances soften her annoyance with herself and when Anna appears she vacates to let them talk. She gently kisses his brow, promising to be back. "I love you." "I love you." She slips out, Anna fondly gazing after her. "...sharp as a tack, that one." "Yeah." Proudly. Bar none, JMB and AG have the best father/daughter tandem going in soaps today. Rich and detailed, based in respect for each other as artists. Totally believable and satisfying to watch...

"You have a guest." Heather thinks it's Todd, come to get her a** out of the sling she's put herself into. Au contraire. "Steven Lars! You've come to help your mother." Uh, no. "I'm here to make sure you never see the light of day..." Well, h**ls bells! What took you so long? (I'm sure SR was asking too, but hey, RM's a hard act to let go of..) Best reactions? Heather's complete bewilderment then flash of anger. "...I wanted...to
believe you were better." "I am..." "You're certifiable." "Watch your mouth! I am not crazy!" Whoa! Better duck! To his credit he doesn't. His gut punch comes at the end: "I'm revoking my guardianship..." "You can't...!" A glimmer of fear from her? But she recovers and tries the mom card again. "I'm your mother." "Not anymore." He turns, walks out in silence. She has no words. Her son has, belatedly, grown a backbone...

As far as putting them together (or not), as a pair, I can't (and won't) quibble with FH and AG when they're playing off each other. From her entrance into his room, being caught up in the very real bond of having saved each others lives, to his trying to help her make sense of Heather's
"Robin revelations", these two (along with JE and RM), offer master classes in how to wring drama out of a simple set up. The outgowth from his attempt to tell Anna about his deception, indicates a real desire to be honest with this woman he's grown more than fond of. Her feelings for him, returned though they are, have to be back burnered, in light of the now nagging possibility that Heather has dangled in front of her. "What if she knows something? What if it's true?" "It can't be...Don't do this to yourself..." That he details the intended LSD injection and subsequent mind games tells me he's concerned for her as more than just a "friend". That she breaks down in front of him clues me in to the fact that she's more than willing to let him see her in a vulnerable state. When his lie about Ethan (good intentioned albeit foolish writing), comes out, it'll be
messy and dramatic. But, let's find Robin first. By the way, better call Tracy...

He's still reeling, still using. Still seeing Robin. "You're back!" She's disappointed. "...because you need me." Taking him to task for popping pills, turning away from those who would help him. Patrick is filled with excuses and (understandably), the self pity that's crippling him. She's not warm, fuzzy or sympathetic. "...you're hurting yourself...you're gonna
hurt our daughter..." His desperation rises. "...ya gotta help me." "Help me first." Pleading, urgent. Clearly a double meaning which he's not aware of. Yet. "I'm still alive." Just the inflection in her voice convinces him "...you're not in my head, you're not gone..." And he's right. Only he doesn't know it...

I love Robin's spunk. We didn't get to see a lot during that Lisa drivel we had to endure. It's a bummer to not be able to see her trying to get away from her captors on a regular basis. I'll take what I can get. Seeing those electrodes being secured and Nurse Fletcher (is her first name Louise?), calmly proceeding under orders, only increases her (and our), growing anxiety. Then the horrified realization of what they intend to do. To say nothing of why. KMc's combination of angry tears and defiance made these scenes a gloss on "One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest" and "A
Clockwork Orange". What comforts me is that Patrick and Anna (and others to follow), will soon be gathering forces to find the other half of
"Scrubs"...

"Patrick. Stop." She repeats herself, finally breaking through to him. He roughly swats her hands away, angry at L's presence. "Get off me!" Shedding himself free from her to find his wife. "Robin is not here!" Firm. Loud. "She was just here.." "...like on the boat..." He grows more insistent, desperate to believe. L is earnest and unknowingly uses Robin's
own words to get through to him. He wavers. "...Don't listen to me. Listen to Robin..." And he stops fighting, spent, almost docile. She takes his
hand. "You ready?" It's limp, just as he is. "...everything will come into focus..." A last look at his wife, eyes red, physically exhausted. Her eyes begging him to "find her" and believe he can get well. The door closes...Continuing wonderful work from JT and JMB...

She's being transferred past Anna at PCPD. She makes a snap decision to "...talk to the prisoner." She locks the door. Adjusts her sleeves. Cracks her neck. Faces her nemisis across the table. "You're gonna tell me what you know about Robin." A chess match with two grand masters is about to begin...

We'll jump ahead next time we chat...
