Five Soap Opera Feuds That Spilled Over Into Real Life!

No. 5: Hunter Tylo vs. Katherine Kelly Lang, The Bold and the Beautiful

Their characters, Dr. Taylor Hayes (Hunter Tylo) and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), have fought over the affections of fickle fashion designer Ridge Forrester (Ronn Moss) since 1990 on CBS Daytime's international hit serial The Bold and the Beautiful. However, Moss' recent exit from the series—after 25 years—inadvertently led to a real-life Twitter dust up between Tylo and Lang!

When a pot-stirring fan tweeted Lang accusations of Tylo allegedly failing to stop her fans from spreading "vicious rumors/gossip" about Lang, the blonde soap beauty called her brunette co-star out, tweeting: "Hunter, why don't you talk to me?" Ouch!

Tylo responded quickly, denying the messy fan's claims and asked Lang not to get "caught up in the chaos." The fact that Lang was so quick to believe an accusation from a fan makes you wonder, what is really going on up in the House of Forrester?

No. 4: Victoria Rowell vs. Michelle Stafford, The Young and the Restless

It was the "spittake" seen around the world — or at the very least, discussed ad nauseum throughout the soap blogosphere! When former The Young and the Restless siren Victoria Rowell (Drucilla) exclusively revealed to Daytime Confidential the backstage beef between Rowell and co-star Michelle Stafford (Phyllis), fans were stunned.

All along we'd thought Drucilla Winters and Phyllis Summers' corporate rivalry ended once the Y&R director yelled "Cut!" Rowell's most shocking claim—that "The Staff" had purposefully spat on her during a heated scene—divided fans into two camps, those who felt Stafford's acting choice was an example of the classic "spittake", and those who felt the flame-haired star's move to drench Rowell with water was done out of spite. Four years later the topic can still set a soap message board on fire!

Meanwhile, droves of fans still wish for the day Dru will claw her way back up that cliff to tangle with Phyllis once again. Only this time, let's make sure no water glasses are on set!

Thanks, Jamey for adding that link to the interview with VR. I didn't know about this blog back then so I will be hearing it for the first time.

I will be carving out some time this weekend to listen to the VR interview and catch up on the last DC podcast (I'm seriously behind on my online podcasts right now).

First, I want to say I hate to presume anything about anyone seeing as I don't know any celebrity personally. Sure, you can surmise a situation by reading between the lines of rumors and blind items here and there. But until something is confirmed by the parties involved, I just keep it to internal speculation.

With that being said, the Lucci/Gellar rumors have always stung a little for me seeing as I love both actresses and loved their dynamic as mother and daughter. I loved Alicia as Kendall. But SMG was always MY Kendall.

I seem to remember some kerfluffle between Susan Seaforth Hayes and Brenda Benet back in the day. I believe Susan apologized for something in her book with Bill Hayes.

Any memorable GH feuds?

Wasn't Robin Christopher harassed by Maurice Benard (he wanted her to go out with him or something) back when they were both on AMC as Skye & Nico?

This wasn't all behind-the-scenes soap feuds, it was fictional soap feuds that spilled over into real life, i.e. their characters were feuding, then so did they. That's why Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso nor Bob Woods and Hillary B. Smith are on the list.

I always thought Bob Woods and Hillary B. Smith hated each other but NLG (Alexis on GH) recently tweeted she was having dinner with her daughter and these two were there having dinner together. I don't see why she would make up seeing to ex-soap stars eating together and I don't see them staying in touch (never-mind going places together) if they were feuding.

RE: Kimberlin Brown and Hunter Tylo. I've heard one rumor that Kimberlin thought Hunter bringing bodyguards to the set was absurd, so she hired a dwarf to follow her around as HER bodyguard.

LMAO! Kimberlin Brown is the boss. I can't stop laughing after reading this

AW's Head Writer, Harding Lemay wasn't a fan of Virginia either. He said in his book, she didnt bother to know her lines and would improv and thought of herself as beautiful. She along with Jacquie C, Reinholt, S. Bolster, V. Dufor was on his Hit List.

DOOL Frances Reid and Susan Seaforth had problems too when Susan first came on that lasted for years.....

Connie Ford was close to Robin Strasser so yes when V. Wyndham came on AW Connie had issue with her portrayal at first. Connie "liked" strong-willed women though and became close to Wyndham too. Connie liked women period, ha ha.

Lois Kibbee wasn't a fan of beautiful, talented women on EON. Insecure I hear.

I heard that too re: SSH and tortured Brenda Benet. It was also published years ago SSH slapped Kaye Stevens once too. I bet Susan was a Diva in her heyday. She was one of Daytime's big stars waaaaaaay back.
