Brooklyn Nets GM Billy King Can’t Get Enough of Phyllis’ Drama on The Young and the Restless

Who says sports nuts can't also love a little daytime drama? In a chat with The New York Times Magazine about his career in basketball, Brooklyn Nets General Manager Billy King admitted to loving himself some The Young and the Restless! Apparently the revival of the hit-and-run storyline involving vixen Phyllis Newman (Michelle Stafford) is keeping King tuned in these days.

I’ve heard that you watch “The Young and the Restless.” So catch me up. What’s been happening lately in Genoa City?

Oh, man, let’s see. Phyllis is going to jail for an attempted murder from about eight, nine years ago that she’s being prosecuted for now.

How did you develop such an unlikely habit?

I was a junior in college, and I finished class at 11. One day I started watching, and I was hooked.

I wonder if King finds Nets' player Kris Humphries ongoing divorce battle with reality starlet Kim Kardashian just as soapy?
