DAYS BYTES: Melanie (Molly Burnett) found out from Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) that Nick (Blake Berris) is up for parole. She freaked out when Julie asked her notto prevent him going free. Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) arrived and told Julie to back off. I loved seeing Julie and Maggie go toe-to-toe in an old-school, soap diva face off! Those scenes were the best of the episode.
While I’m on the topic of Julie, and since we don't see her enough, I'm going to just point outSeaforth Hayes still glows onscreen.
Hope (Kristian Alfonso) visited Nick in prison, where he asked how anyone could forgive him for what he’d done to Melanie.
Rafe (Galen Gering) found himself caught in the middle of Sami (Alison Sweeney) and Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) verbal jousting match. While the outgoing regime did some great things, keeping the Sami vs. Nicole rivalry alive was not one of them.
Sami and Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) got into a spat about her running after EJ (James Scott). Lucas told the mother of his children that he wanted her out of his life. Like that will last very long.
GH BYTES: The residents of Port Charles got a watery shock when Jerry (Sebastian Roche) used the town’s TV airwaves to reveal he’d poisoned the town’s water. Everyone reacted differently.
Jason’s (Steve Burton) first thought was Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), so of course he hurried to her rescue, right? No, he sent Patrick, who didn’t seem to care much about Emma's safety, while rushing to Liz. I found this odd. It’s not like Anna (Finola Hughes) is in Port Charles to be watching out for her granddaughter.
Jason and John "The Honey Badger" McBain (Michael Easton) stoked their savior complexes and their guns, rushing to capture Jerry.
Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) went spastic over the fact that her daughters' lives are in danger. Carly (Laura Wright) tried to understand why Jerry was back in the first place. Relieved his daughter was safe, Jax (Ingo Rademacher) galloped in on his white horse right after Jason and McBain arrived on their stallions.
Jerry’s TV announcement took Tracy (Jane Elliot) back to when she lost her brother Alan (Stuart Damon).
Steve (Scott Reeves) tried to reassure Olivia (Lisa LoCicero), but if I were her, I wouldn’t listen to a thing he said. He couldn’t even protect her from his own mother!
In Europe, Luke (Anthony Geary) and Anna’s scheme was uncovered.
Monday’s episode ended with the “Huge” surprise Frank Valentini promised. Ian Buchanan is back on General Hospital.
Y&R BYTES: Neil (Kristoff St. John) and Harmony (Debbi Morgan) played basketball. The only thing I could think watching the scenes was that St. John must be singing “Did I Shave My Chest For This?” off camera.
Meanwhile, Sofia (Julia Pace Mitchell) and Tucker (Stephen Nichols) were plotting at Gloworm about how to get control of Newman Enterprises.
Kevin (Greg Rikaart) began to freak out after watching the latest edition of Restless Style. Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) tried to calm his nerves, but with little success. Later, Ronan (Jeff Branson) arrived at Phyllis’ house where she confessed everything. When Kevin returned to Phyllis’ place he discovered Ronan there. After he learned what Phyllis revealed to Ronan he called Michael (Christian LeBlanc), but his brother didn't answer.
I really need Ronan and Phyllis to hop into bed again and steam up my screen.
Adam (Michael Muhney) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) spent a lot of time talking about their baby and the new website.
All-in-all it was a pretty boring The Young and the Restless.
B&B BYTES: Rick’s (Jacob Young) scheme to destroy Hope (Kim Matula) and Liam (Scott Clifton)—in order to get his hands on Caroline (Linsey Godfrey)—chugged along. Hope wanted to know from Rick’s friend what Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Liam had been doing the night before her botched wedding. Rick breathed a sigh of relief when his pal played along with the scheme. Rick is a slick willy.
Meanwhile, Bill (Don Diamont) gave Liam a big speech about being a Spencer, finding a wife and the Spencer legacy. Liam pushed back at Bill’s suggestion to dump Hope. He claimed once again that Hope was his choice. He insisted he would still marry Hope.
After leaving Steffy, Taylor (Hunter Tylo) found Thomas (Adam Gregory) and talked incessantly about Hope.
Later, Thomas arrived at Rick’s office where Rick asked him to be there for Hope.
Hope told Liam she doesn’t want anything to do with him. It’s about time. Unfortunately, I doubt it will last.
