It has everything that I love about these podcasts – wit, intelligence, insight, and just plain comedy all rolled into one. If I haven’t said it enough, I really appreciate what you guys do on this site and on Morning Jolt when you join Larry Flick and Keith Price. Log in to Reply AHeart4Fiction September 23, 2012 I’ve been waiting to hear this podcast for a hot minute. Can’t wait! Also, you guys put “The crew also discusses the bloodbath at The Young and the Restless” twice. Just thought you’d guys want to know. Log in to Reply harlee490 September 23, 2012 It’s because at Y&R this bloodbath is HUGH industry wise because Y&R is the NO. 1 show. Log in to Reply soapbaby September 23, 2012 I LOVE when you guys hang with Larry Flick. He is THE TRUTH and never holds back. He is always on-point but nailed the description of Debbi Morgan’s YoHarmony and Genie Francis’ Genevieve on Y&R. DM’s performance and the writing of her character was extremely tiresome and offensive. Like Larry, I have tuned out of DAYS completely but it is not because of the Will/Gabi sex (but I agree with him 100%) it’s because the show is dreadfully dull. Overall Podcast = Absolutely Hilarious! Log in to Reply Yoryla September 23, 2012 OMG I just heard this podcast, and who tha HECK is this Larry Flick person – first I was like WTH, then I just found him kind of laughable. And I mean as in ridiculous. He didn’t even let the others talk! (It’s bad enough in the normal podcasts when the guys won’t let Jillian talk – and I hear she would have PLENTY to say!) Susan Flannery is one of the living LEGENDS of Daytime! She don’t get insulted. B&B has traditionally had the second B&B writing in all daytime! The first being Y&R. And yes I mean the William J. Bell era, not the recent years. Was this whole thing supposed to be a joke? Is this Larry Flick person a comedien? If it was, okay, then I understand. But I tuned in to listen to a real podcast like normally, with some Real talk about soaps current states. None of this could have been taken seriously Log in to Reply SoapArmageddon September 24, 2012 Yoryla, you had me up until you said “the guys won’t let Jillian talk” on the normal podcast. What podcasts have you been listening to? Log in to Reply soapbaby September 24, 2012 ^^ Yeah, I’d say every podcast I have listened to Jillian has held her own. Larry Flick is like any personality_ an acquired taste. I find him a laugh-riot as in a hilarious person. I find his candor refreshing. He has a popular, nationally-syndicated radio show which books guests. He had an eye to all of pop culture and allows the space for the DC gang to come on the show to discuss daytime. He’s not held to the same confines as a soap reporter because he is not. He voices an opinion of someone not afraid to criticize from an informed place as he is a longtime daytime soap opera viewer. He and DC gang set my Sunday off right! Log in to Reply Yoryla September 24, 2012
Yoryla, you had me up until you said “the guys won’t let Jillian talk” on the normal podcast. What podcasts have you been listening to? ;)
I just get the feeling a lot of times that Jillian is just about to say something and then Jamey overrides her LOL. And nobody overrides Jamey! I think I just “get” Jillian better than Jamey – maybe it’s just me Log in to Reply brettyboy September 24, 2012 Don’t agree with this presenter on BB. BB used to have good writing, and this year it’s been shit! Log in to Reply shoegal September 25, 2012 First I have to say that I love Jamie, Jillian and Regan and yes I love it when Luke gets excited and on a rant. I generally love when the gang goes on Larry Flick because we get at least an hour and a half of great conversations however this episode just a bit ok.. I have to disagree with Larry about B&B. I have watched B&B since the 1st episode and yes I agree that the writing on B&B now is atrocious but B*B had had some great story-lines. The Brooke sleeping with Deacon and conceiving Hope, and the entire fall out of that was priceless. Sheila didn’t become a moustach twirling villain until her last stint on Y&R. Sheila was exactly what B&B needed as the show rarely has a villain, who is there just to cause trouble. I also disagree about Stephanie… Susan Flannery has an awesome talent and often takes the crappy storyline and makes them look good. When she first started on B&B she was dressed a whole lot better.
