Steve Harvey Ties Katie in Key Demo

Katie might be the No. 1 new syndicated daytime talk show, but The Perky One's numbers are continuing to slide from her impressive Sept. 10 debut. According to Broadcasting and Cable, Katie  has slid 17 percent to a 1.9/6 rating in households. The Katie Couric-helmed vehicle has also fallen 25 percent among women 25-54.

While Katie is dealing with early viewer erosion, rival Steve Harvey managed to tie Couric's show at 0.9/5 among W25-54. To find out how the other new talkies are doing, click here!

Good news for NBCU/Steve Harvey. Like you all said with Larry Flick, they are not going to find the “new Oprah”. It’s over. With over 1 1/2 years in development- and an 80 million dollar budget, and all that advertising, I’d say Katie has really failed for ABC/Katie. She’s not genuine, her show is trying too hard. At least you know with Steve what your going to get!

Pretty sad for all of the new talk show offerings. None of them are even approaching the top 25 of syndicated shows. It’s good to see Steve Harvey exceeding expectations. That may be enough to build some momentum.

Tv Gord-I told you in past posts I would try Live with Kelly, and I did.I’m finding I like her alot more with Michael S.Also, checked out Anderson and Steve H,and I’m finding them,on the most part, pretty entertaining.

However,I don’t like The Talk or View.Too many mouthy women.

I’m glad, marybee50. I know what you mean. I’ve always liked Kelly, but he does seem to soften her rougher edges a little more. I think they’ve got a natural chemistry.
