Did The Young and The Restless' Eric Braeden Throw SHADE at TV Son Michael Muhney on Twitter?!

What in the fee-fi-fo-f*** is going on behind-the-scenes at The Young and the Restless these days? Whatever it is, it keeps finding its way on Twitter!

We knew when the always outspoken Eric Braeden (Victor) joined the social media site (Thanks, Chubster for the head's up!) it wouldn't take long for some ish to go down. Following a tweet from TV son Michael Muhney (Adam) about how insulting it was to "the actors & the audience" that TGVN was once again presumed dead, Braeden went IN!

Here's the tweet from Muhney:

Braeden retorted:

Well damn EB, tell us how you really feel!

LOL sounds like some of their bad blood on screen is bleeding on to real life. Seriously if soap viewers were insulted by that, what must they have thought when Adam and Sharon were being pushed down our throats after he pushed her down the stairs and caused her to have a miscarriage and THEN gave her someone elses baby to raise? Was that an insult?
I can see both sides to this. Yes it is insulting but then again it isn't the worst of the worst! So it probably wasn't THAT comment worthy compared to other things. Such as Sharon marching down the isle with Tucker?

Old man, Muhney just told it like it is. This storyline was insulting to any viewer with a brain. And while Muhney talks about storyline, Braeden has to take the step and make it personal. It's just similar to what happened with the Sharon Case situation. She was talking storyline & he attacks her on a personal level.

Calling out not only Muhney but everyone's favorite bastard Nelson Branco AFTER he said in his Michael Fairman interview: "You saw the b**s that went down on Twitter. It was unforgiveable. Enough said. You don’t do that to fellow colleagues."

Well Eric Braeden, out of all Y&R actors YOU were the first one who did it last night! Unforgivable.

When I saw EBs mini meltdown on Twitter last night I somehow had a feeling it would end up on DC, LOL! I was the one who suggested he bring doughnuts to work today (Lisa_JDC)

3 Things I know for sure:

1) The Kristen Stewart "Cheating" scandal was all for publicity

2) Those Boston Red Sox aint seeing Playoff Baseball this year Smile !!

3) Michael Muhney is absolutely right. Why can't the Moustache Chill the Eff Down!!

For some reason I envision MM having a beer with Peter Bergman after work this evening..... LOL

Good for Michael Muhney ...

What he tweeted is completely right on the mark.

Herr Gudegast's retort is typical and almost frightening should the new powers that be take his point of view.

Mr. Muhney is intelligent on and off screen.

At least all this rubbish is disguising the major rubbish coming out as said "story" on Y&R.

YAY! A rivalry to entertain us while we wait for the new writing to kick in.
Twitter is much more entertaining than MAB's pointless repulsive crap.

A couple of thoughts float past me after reading this.

1) JFP. Just look what fun you are going to have managing this "zoo" of personalities.

2) Is anybody in the front office re-evaluating their decision to give TGVN a new long term contract?

Carry on!.... Innocent

Off the top of my head in the years I have watched Y&R Victor has been presumed dead twice already - when the car blew up and he was chillin with Hope and when he was presumed dead on the boat and Nikki was drunk on the beach looking for him.

After awhile it loses meaning.
Just look at Stefano on Days.

I think Victor has only been presumed dead maybe 3 times in 30 years which on a soap isn't that much especially for the star of the soap. So I didn't find this insulting at all and it's the first time MM has had to play Victor being "dead" so I really don't think he has room to talk. I've followed MM for years on twitter and frankly his arrogance knows no bounds so I don't think EB was far off the mark with what he said.

Unpopular opinion here...but I think that they are both correct.

It is unbelievable that ANYONE on a soap is dead. People come back from the dead all the time on any soap. Victor, has only been presumed dead 3 times in 30 years (twice during MAB's tenure). So to be honest, believing Victor is dead isn't as insulting as believing anyone is dead.

That is where i also think EB is correct. Why is MM picking this story to crap on? Was there radio silence during the double doppelganger story? There have been a number of crappy things to happen on Y&R recently, so it does seem targeted...that he focused on this one. I am not on twitter, so I honestly don't know if he said anything about other stories. I have seen reports that he supported his love story (and I thought that was crap)...so who am I?

Not to mention a Twitter account?? EB's been on there less than 24 hours. That has to be a record, LOL! He's the gift that keeps on giving.

I agree with Muhney 100%. The show has been to Victor concentrated for too long now. Enough! I think Eric likes any story where his character is front and center. Sorry dude but MAB's writing sucks balls and your character needs to be back burned in the healing process we are all about to venture on.

I agree with MM to be honest. This story was very insulting to EB and the viewer's because he's capable of doing more. They are copying the Victor/Hope story to a TEE! It's just a rehash and it's awful! The viewers deserve more!

Shut up, creepy old man! You're mad because the new regime won't put up with your shit any longer. You got a new contract but the guarantee was cut in half; you will NOT, I repeat: NOT, dominate the show or play the world's oldest casanova anymore.

Eric Braeden is angry because the younger generations are taking over. MM, Joshua M, Billy M, the new Noah, etc. will be front and center once JFP and Josh Griffith take over in mid October. Victor is going back to his favorite victim, Nikki the punching bag, and he's settling down FOR GOOD. No more romances with girls who can be his granddaughters. No more telling the writers what to write. No more "winning" all the time.

It's the end of an era, and the whole world can see what a blowhard Eric Braeden really is. Karma is a diva bitch!

I am an ABC girl who followed Peter Bergman to Y&R and gave up after a decade in part because I realized Victor would always win and Victor is Eric and Eric is Victor. #TEAMMICHAEL

But isn't this the point that lumps them together? I agree the show has been concentrated on Victor for too long, but during a period of time where the show was concentrated on Adam, did the same complaints about insulting writing exist? I recall when MM was a favorite of MAB's too. My point, MM likes being front and center just as much as EB does. MAB's writing sucks balls regardless of who is front and center.

Micheal Muheny is jus upset because he realized during the show exactly where he stood on the pecking order. Victor had the two children by his side that TPTB think are important. Nicholas and Victoria. They are the real next generation Newmans and he doesn't like that his character isn't. MM is very arrogant and seesm to think that this show will fall apart without him. It won't. Team EB.

Cheers to Muhney for his spot on tweet.

I am glad EB said it.

Michael Muhney is a narcissist and acts like he is God. It shows from the speaks on Twitter, what kind of words he uses, the audiences he speaks to. He has quite successfully painted the picture that he is the only actor who is on the fans' side, and speaks from the viewers point of view. It's manipulation. He wants things to go his way and have the biggest spotlight on him, as much as the next actor, but he goes about it in a way that's underhanded.

And the fact remains he HAS only been on for three years. He doesn't have, nor should have the same clout as someone who has been on for 20 to 30 years, regardless of who that person is. Even Michelle Stafford and Greg Rikaart, who have been quite open and direct on their Twitter about things, don't usually comment on storylines.

It is not a matter of whether MM is right or wrong, but it wasn't his place to address it.

Yoryla, are you kidding me? If Michelle Stafford and Greg Rikaart are sooooo "open" how come they don't address the ELEPHANT in the room regarding their own... hmmm... "interests"?

Girl, please. I know you don't like MM but blasting him for voicing an opinion (that 99% of YR viewers SHARE) is wrong. And please don't use two of the biggest hypocrites on Y&R as examples of openness... Oh hell, no.

I honestly love Michael Muhney and agree with pretty much everything he says especially where this story has been concerned, and should stand his ground no matter what. He may have only been in the industry 3 years but he understands has a good understanding of the show and the audience of the recent years and how they think.

What do you mean don't like MM? I never said that. I like him as Adam on Y&R okay. And is he right on his opinion? Of course he is!

But that's not the point. An adult doesn't say things and afterwards not expect any consequences. If a person with status says something out loud, they HAVE to know someone will respond. It works the same way in every business.

And I certainly did not "blast" anyone. Just told it like I see it, just like MM portrays himself.

As far as MS and GR are concerned, whatever "preferences" you're talking about have nothing to do with this. My point was, they are both pretty outspoken about things happening in the world. But they still have the wisdom not to speak negatively of storylines on Twitter, especially ones that aren't their own.

Yoryla, for the record, Adam did have to play a lot of scenes concerning V's death, so this is his storyline. I do agree with your larger point that MM is not behaving particularly maturely or productively, ESPECIALLY since this plot was the product of a former EP.
