HomeTVThe Young and The RestlessWho is the Hooded Figure Lurking in the Shadows on The Young and the Restless? Luke Kerr October 3, 2012 17 Comments Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Daniel (Michael Graziadei) relationship has always been one of my favorite parent/child dynamics on The Young and the Restless, so Wednesday's was a fun show. After catching Daniel’s glance at Heather (Jennifer Landon) across the room, Phyllis immediately realized the two have been seeing each other. Later, Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) threatened to cut Daniel’s ponytail off if he didn’t admit he liked Heather. While Eden’s (Jessica Heap) hypnosis continued, Paul ended up in the alley where Ricky (Peter Porte) fell to his death. Amid flashbacks and wandering, Paul noticed the knife Ricky had been holding. We were treated to another Cricket (Lauralee Bell) vs. Phyllis face off. The Bug overheard her nemesis admitting she'd seen Cricket kissing Danny (Michael Damian) all those years ago. Nina (Tricia Cast) tried to calm her friend down, but Cricket had a little Phyllis-related bomb to drop on the writer— the Woman Formerly Known as Red is sleeping with Ronan (Jeff Branson)! I can hardly wait to see Nina bitch slap Phyllis on today's episode. The episode ended with a shot a shadowy, hooded figure. He or she was lurking in the alley where Paul had found the knife, just as the P.I. learned the weapon had been wiped clean of prints. Who do you think the hooded figure is? 17 Responses rjm118 October 4, 2012 More to the point, WHO CARES? This story is getting more and more convoluted and its actually painful to watch. Doug Davidson is a better actor than I thought that he can pull this crap off. PLEASE send Danny and Christine as far away as possible. I know Phyllis is guilty but I wish shed rent another car and do it all over again!! Log in to Reply Coffee_Junkie October 4, 2012 We’ll probably never find out who it is since we only have one more week of that HACK MAB’s material to deal with. The “dark figure” will probably never be mentioned or shown again. Log in to Reply richalan67 October 4, 2012 I can’t wait for the new writers. However, I am LOVING Phyllis (aka Fire Crotch) being taken to task. I just hope the new regime reigns in her over the top acting. The hands to her face and the little Shirley Temple gestures make me want to hurl my lunch! I hope Nina knock FC on her ass!! Log in to Reply stoney07 October 4, 2012 I enjoyed yesterday’s episode SOOOOOOOOO much. And no Victor!!! WOWZERS Log in to Reply soapjunkie88 October 4, 2012 This Ricky murder mystery is one of the most awful crime stories I’ve ever seen. Seriously, Paul shouldn’t even be charged with murder. He shot that bastard in his shoulder. What the heck did MAB read to come up with such a nonsense plot? As for the hooded figure, my guess is an Isabella recast since I don’t see Eva Longoria signing on for this shit. Anyone but her would make no sense. I also think that Isabella is the one who checked Daisy out of the mental hospital. The rest of the episode was better than I expected. I do enjoy Daniel/Heather together. It’s kind of sad that they will have such a short run. Landon and Graziadei really do have chemistry. Log in to Reply Restless Fan October 4, 2012 One things is certain for sure. Maria Bell may still be listed as the show’s EP but it’s obvious Phleps work is on display. Story aside I love what I am seeing from her so far. Did anyone else take notice of those important little things like characters listening in the background? I loved how Nina and Lauren were in the back and were part of what was happening during the confrontation between Phyllis and Christine. That stuff used to happen all the time. Maria’s Y&R was basically characters emerging from no where and based on the constipated looks on their faces it was up to the viewer to connect the dots. Much like her stories, those small but important moments went to the wayside. Also did anyone else LOVE that line from Nina yesterday when Paul left the table? She said something to the effect of, “I hate seeing him in pain. I could never write that for one of my characters! Who comes up with that? I would feel guilty. Drama is one thing but misery is another.” I have to wonder if Josh Griffith didn’t add that in. He already said he tweaked a few things in Maria’s final scripts and that line was too appropriate in regards to Maria’s Y&R. I can’t believe we only have 5 episodes to go!!! I feel like Andy Dufrane right at the moment he escaped Shawshank! Log in to Reply MsAgentProvocateur1 October 4, 2012 I went on You Tube to see the Slap Heard Around Genoa City. That clip has been viewed quite a number of times (LOL). Tricia Cast once played a little league pitcher so I imagine she has a pretty ‘Live Arm’. And Nina’s shot someone too. Phyllis better watch out for Nina. Log in to Reply stefanstavros October 4, 2012 I LOVE the focus on the old gang the many of us loved so much in the early nineties: Danny, Cricket, Nina, etc…I LOVE that Danny and Cricket are being reunited, as they are one of those “meant-to-be” couples like Tina and Cord on OLTL. And as for me, they could stay on as regulars again, of course only if exciting story is written for them. Log in to Reply pferrando October 4, 2012 I think it’d be a great twist if it was Isabella. I don’t mind the story, but do want it to end. I have a feeling we’ll see a lot of the stories wrap up quickly. And I don’t want it to seem like I’m defending “all things MAB”, but she did do a lot of traditional Y and R things during her stint. She just was not a strong writer, and having Hogan “help” probably hurt her in the end. Can’t wait to see all the “wonderful” things Phelps has to make the show more alluring. (Cough…) Log in to Reply Yoryla October 4, 2012 In the words of a certain former redhead: “Are you kidding me??? I mean, SERIOUSLY??” – this episode was HORRIBLE. It was so boring I ff’d straight on to Thursday’s preview. Ýeah this shadowy figure is just great – coming in two months too late! I can’t believe this RIDICULOUS story about Paul, who has never even hurt a fly, would kill his OWN SON deliberately? G.M.A.F.B. Christine even said it out loud today with me – We all know Paul did not kill Ricky – YES Thank You! Log in to Reply TraceyAbbot101 October 4, 2012 It was the bitch slap heard round the WORLD!! I, too, have noticed little changes… I loved the split screen time between Daniel and Heather….. and then them getting Chloe and “Chipmunk” involved, and then telling them they couldn’t tell each other? LOL I was a little sickened, today, but the “acting” between Daniel Goddard and KC, especially Lily’s “strip tease”…. I know Daniel Goaddard loves to show off his body. I think DG was trying to keep a straight face during the actual strip tease. “I won’t forget”…. hmmm…. who has money for all of those flowers? I am sure the Hardy Boy and Nancy Drew, er, Daniel and Heather, will be on the case!! Log in to Reply ChristianDavis148 October 4, 2012 [quote=Restless Fan]One things is certain for sure. I thoroughly enjoyed the comedic scenes with Kevin, Heather, Daniel and Chloe during yesterday’s episode. The ugly dog comment had me howling with laughter and of course when Daniel and Heather both told Chloe and Kevin respectively, “You can’t tell anyone about this!” was absolutely funny. Yep, we’re seeing some of Josh’s tweaks alright. Log in to Reply DaytimeFan0001 October 4, 2012 It should be Sheila- but it’s probably someone ridiculous like Gloria. And loved the long-awaited confrontation between Phyllis and Nina and the fact that Nina slapped the venom straight up outta her mouth then answered the phone and the caller’s question with “Oh nothing, just takin’ out the trash”. Nice to be reminded that, before Phyllis and Dru, Nina was one of GC’s original hellcats. Log in to Reply pjc722 October 5, 2012 I do hope whomever is LURKING in the wings in the hood and with a prayer IS NOT Patti! Honestly, if the writers take a lame and POSSIBLY idiotic step of having Patti be the one who got the knife, got Daisy out and got herself back into the nut house, and then got out again, I will be pissed!! Let’s hope that Sheila is alive … even though I don’t want that to happen. Log in to Reply tedew October 5, 2012 Maybe it’s Mother Williams back from the crypt with her cape and bucket of sauerkraut and ribs! Log in to Reply hey mon October 6, 2012 tedew. Too funny. Honestly, Maria probably on the day of her firing probably didnt even know who the shadowy figure is. She probably wanted Eva L as Isabella, but couldnt get her. So my guess is that Josh G will drop the s/l ASAP, hopefully. Also glad that Samantha Atkinson stays dead, where she belongs, and so does Claude Shirl.
