Nicole (Arianne Zucker) was in full-blown manipulation mode when she showed Daniel (Shawn Christian) a supposed Utah law that would allow her to nullify EJ’s (James Scott) parental rights if she lived there. Of course Daniel, the dupable doctor that he is, told Nicole she couldn’t do that.
Later at the hospital, Nicole learned that the baby monitor didn’t pick up a heartbeat .
Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) chewed the fat about Nicole having her hooks in Daniel. Daytime Confidential’sJamey Giddens recently pointed out on the podcast that there is a problem with so much story revolving around Dr. Hairy Chest. The point bears repeating. It is preposterous how so many of the storylines he gets involved in end up cannibalizing this soap.
Meanwhile, EJ tried to get an attorney to nullify Chad (Casey Deidrick) and Nick’s (Blake Berris) legal agreement protecting Gabi (Camila Banus). Rafe (Galen Gering) was excited at the thought of Gabi being safe, until he realized he'd wrecked things with Sami (Alison Sweeney) for nothing.
Detective Sami Brady showed up at Chad’s, where she quickly got to the bottom of EJ’s lies. Maybe she should join the Salem Police Department? She definitely solves case faster than Bo (Peter Reckell), Hope (Kristian Alfonso), Roman (Josh Taylor) or Abe (James Reynolds).
Sami rushed to Rafe’s, but he wasn’t there. At the same time, Rafe was at her house pounding on her door. The episode ended with EJ discovering them in each other’s arms.
