General Hospital: Perkie's Observations

Sam demands Heather give her back her son. She asks what it will take. Heather says she’s not letting him go, because she’s his mother now. Jason says the baby doesn’t belong to her. Sam won’t let her leave with the baby. Heather says to move aside and Jason says she’ll have to kill him first.

John says Todd’s been in contact with Heather, but Tea doesn’t believe him.  John says Heather called Todd’s phone an hour ago and they have the records to prove it. Todd sputters about rights violations.  John says the call came from this motel room. Todd says he didn’t call the police for fear that Heather would hurt the baby. John asks him if he was planning on letting Tea leave with the baby, something Tea questions.
John decides to tell Tea the truth, but Anna gets the call that Heather is at the hospital, holding the baby hostage and they head out.

Tracy pays Luke a visit. He explains about Anna being angry with him and the return of dead Duke Lavery. Luke doesn’t want to step aside. Tracy points out it’s Anna’s decision who she chooses. Luke explains what happened with Anna in Switzerland, she left to chase after the crazies, one of which Tracy says she’s all too familiar with. Tracy explains her relationship with Joe Junior and how she ultimately turned him in, but is still crazy about him.

Dr. Swiss arrives to give Duke an update on Robin. He lets her know how things went when he confronted Anna and his annoyance at Luke’s presence. Dr. Swiss reminds him that she warned him about Luke, but Duke thinks he’d win the fight. She says Luke and Anna clearly care about each other, but Duke isn’t giving her up. He asks about their new patient and out comes Joe Junior, alive and kicking.

Dante appears on the roof, guns blazing. Heather snarks that he’s still angry about what happened with Olivia. Dante orders her to hand over the baby. Heather warns not to force her to do something they’ll regret and tells Dante to leave. Jason tells Dante he’ll find a way to talk her down and Sam begs him to leave, which he does.

Olivia tells Epiphany and Steve that Heather was in the building, just like in her vision and is on the roof with the baby. Dante checks in and lets them know the situation on the roof. Steven wants to go and talk his mother down, but Dante stops him. Dante says it’s Sam’s baby and it’s her decision. Epiphany is shocked to hear the babies were switched.

Heather accuses Jason of never wanting the baby, but Jason denies that. Heather says their marriage was in shambles and the baby deserves better than them, than Jason as his father. Sam continues to beg her to give the baby to them. Heather accuses Sam of keeping her away from Steven. Sam says she’s had her revenge. She loves her son more than life itself.

Heather says Sam left the baby for dead after giving birth in a seedy hotel with no regard to his welfare. She accuses Sam of wanting the baby to die and that she’ll make a better parent then either of them. Sam says she’ll help Heather be a mother, to Steven, that she’ll help make it happen. She offers Steven in exchange for the baby.

At the hospital, Tea wants to go up on the roof, but John stops her, not wanting to excite Heather. Dante tells them that JaSam is up there with Heather. Tea wonders who JaSam are and why they’re with her son, but Todd says nothing. Anna uses the bullhorn to call out to Heather that the hospital is surrounded and promises to give her leniency if she gives up the baby.

Jason says Heather needs to give them the baby, that there is no other choice. Sam begs for the baby. Heather says if she can’t have the baby no one can and throws herself off the side of the building.

FoxyMegan ... you've combined Robin Matson's Heather with her Janet Green character on All My Children ...

I like Olivia too, probably because I like Lisa Locicero as an actress. She never phones it in no matter how poorly the character has been written for. I especially liked Olivia with Johnny. If Olivia were separated from Steven Lars, she'd be a much better character, psychic visions or no physic visions. Steven Lars is a succubus, literally drawing all of the air out of the scene with all of his heavy breathing.

Since I adored the show The Medium- I think it would be fun if Olivia was the new medium. I think she is beautiful and talented.

I think it would be fun if Olivia became a medium, and one of her biggest fans turned out to be Epiphany! Epiphany is usually so down-to-earth and sensible, but I could see her love of psychic phenomena to be her one guilty pleasure. It would be a great opportunity to give both women some additional screen time.

@ TVGORD- That would be fantastic. I love Epiphany!! I don't like how they have been writing Steve but I love him when he is in scenes with Liz. They have a great bro/sis dynamic. So while I wouldn't care if he left as a character I want him around for her. Her best friends are dead- there are no Jakes girl nights. Nic and Lucky and now Jason are gone. We never see Grams babysitting the boys. I would like it if Olivia was her sister in law and maybe had some hospital vision and then Epiphany, Patrick, Liz and Olivia worked together to solve it..

Deliberately, but nobody got the joke. (The "California" mention referred to a storyline from her time on "Santa Barbara.")

FYI: Liz is on today's episode, so I am sure SamFFs will show up to comment on today's recap. LOL. It seems the biggest part of loving Sam is hating Liz! Any way, Rebecca Herbst's understated performance of Liz's pain over losing Jake and empathizing with both Tea and Sam was lovely. RH does great work.

Rebecca Herbst is one of the most beautiful women to ever appear on a soap, even in nursing scrubs and a ponytail. Just stunning.

It was really painful to watch the scenes with Tea and Todd because I kept waiting and waiting WHEN he will tell her the truth!!! I can't believe they didn't tell her RIGHT away at the motel, they had to know she would go charging for the baby right away when she saw him!

For the record, I speak only for myself here, but as for this Sam FF I am posting less because more and more this site FOR ME isnt fun. Im tired of having my every post mischaracterized and honestly that, coupled with how many of my favorite posters that have left and the fact that the show is again for me better than its been in ages, I feel far less desire to comment. I was told about that theory - that samff fans arent posting because the only thing that drives us is liz - and had to clarify (as well as have a good belly laugh)

As for this story - i love Sam is being portrayed as a true heroine. Before they wrote her with so many heroic moments but didnt necessarily connect the dots. Kelly is doing an amazing job and I totally agree with sassy, while FL is all screaming and screeching, kellys portrayal is far more nuanced. There have been a bunch of moments where her raw emotion really caught me and to do that on top of dancing at the level shes dancing, esp. given the level of dwts competition this season, to me is absolutely incredible.

as for liz, the scenes today with bree were nice. the scenes where sam thanked her I found ironic - after all the carrying on about how UNFAIR it was that sams misdeeds werent made known to every resident of the city, here was liz getting the same treatment. Ahh but when sam only gets outed to effected people its being TPTB pet and when liz only gets outed to certain people its only right and totally justified. RME at the lizocritical double standard. THis is a soap. not EVERY character should know the misdeeds of EVERY OTHER character. I kind of hope that sam never finds out what a duplicitous bitch liz was and that her actions allowed heather to snatch the baby. I hope tea never finds out that had liz not caused a delay john could have quietly explained everything in her own home making her pain a little less. I hope steve never finds out that his sister has very heatheresque moments. I hope lulu never finds out that once again liz used her loyalty to work an agenda. Im okay with that.

I guess I am going to have to be accused of misconstruing but I just have to point out in a post about how Liz doesn't drive SamFF, there is more about Liz than Sam . I laugh because it is amusing, but, I laugh with you.

I am sorry but both Kelly and Steve look like they are bored silly. She may have an excuse of DWTS. They are just phoning it in though. The whole baby reveal has been paint by the numbers and Tea is the only character who has appealed to me emotionally.

I actually hope Liz reveals herself what she did. She probably will. She came clean with Jason and she would have told Sam the whole story but held back the baby deal at Jason's request.

^^ GHvetfan! You pointed out the EXACT point I was making! When Liz is on, the comment sections on Perkie's Obs explode with sometimes of upward of 70 comments in two days. Sam and Jason drive a s/l and barely raises a muster from posters who claim to be SamFFs. This is consistently the case where Sam's s/ls as a frontburner character are featured. Her reunion with her baby was at a fever-pitch last week and on Friday's episode it had appeared that her baby went over the side of a building!_ and still barely a mention here from SamFFs but Liz draws out all of this commentary. A thing that makes me go...hmmm...

Personally for me I do want ALL of these people to learn what part Elizabeth had in baby Danny's second kidnapping!!! Only besides Sam, Tea, John, Steve and Lulu, I am hoping that Carly, Alexis, Monica, Sonny, Spinelli, Epiphany, Anna, Patrick, Maxie and Olivia also learn the truth about her heinous actions!!!

I'm with you, EET. You listed the exact reasons why I hardly ever come over here anymore. It's not fun. Some people will find any reason to bitch & complain & TRY to prove anything you say wrong. It's boring, I'm over it. My 2 teen daughters have more elequence than some of these people.

Notice I didn't call out any names, so if you are insulted by this post, you must be one of them.
