Duke tells Jason he shouldn’t have interfered, and pushes him into the water.  He’s angry with Joe for botching yet another job, and shoots Bernie again for good measure. Joe slips away and escapes Duke's rage.

Lulu informs Dante that Dr. V ran some tests and determined she can’t carry a baby to term.  She feels it’s her fault, but Dante tells her otherwise. He convinces her to tell Dr. V her fear that her abortion years ago caused the infertility.  Dr. V rules out Lulu's theory.

It turns out Lulu has a genetic condition where her uterus is malformed and cannot carry a baby to term.  She’s surprised to hear the diagnosis, because she doesn't recall any family history of the disease. Dante reassures Lulu the condition is not her fault. The couple shares a hug, as Lulu cries on Dante's shoulder. Dr. V returns with some pamphlets for alternatives to having a child. She reminds Dante and Lulu they can still achieve their dream of having a child.

Police officers show up at Trey’s apartment to get a statement regarding Joe.  Sonny arrives and Michael tells him Joe was there and threatened to take Starr.  Sonny gets a call from Bernie to get to the pier.  Michael wants to go, but Sonny forces him to stay behind. Trey and Michael still want to follow Sonny, but Starr says they’re staying with her. She refuses to lose them like she lost Cole and Hope.

Anna tells Luke they can’t check Duke’s DNA, since he doesn’t have a sample on file.  Luke suggests she check his fingerprints and compare them to what’s in the PCPD database.  Anna continues to stall and Luke figures out she’s afraid to discover that Duke is a liar.  Luke says he has feelings for her, but she’s too smart to let herself fall for Duke's stunt. He advises her to run the prints.

Monica’s celebrating being a new grandmother and refuses to let Tracy’s negative comments about the baby’s true paternity derail her happiness. Monica feels the baby is still Alan’s grandson and mentions Daniel's middle name being Edward. Tracy's not impressed by the child being named after her father. Monica brings up her medical bag being in disarray, and Tracy admits she pulled a bullet out of Joe's shoulder.

Tracy explains what happened that night, and Monica asks if Tracy has turned her back on him.  After Monica leaves, Joe shows up bleeding from another gunshot wound. Tracy wants to call the police.  Joe says Sonny shot him, and he’s not afraid to die. However, he just wants Tracy to call Trey so he can say good-bye.   Joe tells Tracy she owes him for saving her life, and explains about giving her his only antidote to Jerry’s poison.  Tracy’s shocked Joe was working for Jerry, but he urges her to call Trey.

John’s surprised to find Sam at the penthouse. She tells him the good news about she, Jason and the baby being a real family.  Sam knows she and John have feelings they need to resolve, but she still wants to be his friend. Sam maintains she wants John in her life, and thanks him for helping her with the baby.

Sam asks John about Liam. He doesn't have good news, but vows to get his son back. Sam asks if he’s planning on staying in Port Charles, and John wonders if his presence will cause problems for her. Sam admits she would miss him.  John informs her Todd was released from jail and denies having any involvement in the kidnapping.

Sonny arrives at the pier and asks Bernie what happened.  Bernie tells him Jason was shot and is in the harbor, so Sonny jumps in.  Sonny doesn’t find Jason, and returns to the pier to get more answers from Bernie. However, Bernie dies before he can tell Sonny anything else. Meanwhile, police divers show up and attempt to look for Jason.

Duke returns to the hotel room where Luke and Anna are still questioning his identity. They inform Duke they want to run his prints to prove he is the real Duke Lavery. Duke accuses Luke of wanting Anna for himself.  In turn, Luke says he doesn’t want to see her hurt.  Anna believes Duke, but runs the tests anyway. The results come back and the two sets of fingerprints are a perfect match.

Tracy calls Trey and urges him to visit his father immediately.  Trey lies to Starr and Michael and tells them Kristina wants to see him because she's worried. Michael is weary something happened to Jason, and thinks Trey lied about Kristina needing him. Michael decides he's going to help Sonny.

Trey shows up at the mansion, and Joe tells him to always remember that he loves him. When Trey asks his father who shot him, he lies and says it was Sonny.

The police divers conclude the current likely dragged Jason a mile out.

Sam is surprised to find Sonny at her door.

Is it just me or did Duke seem surprised that the fingerprints were a match?

Am I the only one who laughed out loud at Sonny jumping in the water to find Jason? I must be evil.

Kind of loved Starr forcing both boys to stay home.

I'm glad Lulu's issue was not about the abortion and I'm glad the doctor finally said something about alternatives. My boss and her husband just had a baby via surogacy this summer, after 10 years of trying, so I know it's possible in fake life too.

Duke was surprised. He had his hand on the gun while they were waiting for the results of the fingerprint analysis. This guy must be Cesar Faison.

Yeah, I don't think it's the "real" Duke Lavery.

Sonny is lost without his one true love, Jason Morgan. Wink

I have to agree with Swan??? who posted in another thread that Dante having sperm issues would have been the better story than Lulu having uterine problems since we just saw Sam getting hers fixed last year!

RIP, Jason Morgan. I hope SBu is enjoying his time away from GH.

My guess Faison as well because of the detail of fingerprints vs. DNA. In the GH universe, fingerprints can be achieved through plastic surgery but you can't change DNA. I'm sure somebody (maybe Spinelli?) will be tasked with this expository finale to the story.

People talk about OLTL taking over GH, but to me it is the reincarnate of Edge of Night - the town full of crooks and cops, the dark skyline, & the European plastic surgery clinic.

If Nicole Cavenaugh walks out of the clinic it would make my day.

Duke was definitely surprised that the finger prints were a match. Seems like he's not the real Duke Lavery after all. I still think this entire storyline is completely ridiculous though. Far too many plot holes.

I also didn't like that Duke was the one who got to shoot Jason. I expected after Steve Burton offered to stay a little longer if it's necessary to wrap up his stories that his exit would have a bigger impact. I don't even know what I did expect but a stupid shoot out where Bernie wants to admit that he betrayed Sonny definitely wasn't it.

I can't believe that Joe still has to lie as he's about to die. He knows how much he hurt Trey by going after Kristina and now he's trying to set his own son against Sonny once again to gain what exactly?
Joe basically admitting that he knew about Jerry's plans should have been reason enough for Tracy to actual call the police instead of letting him feed his lies to Trey.

I love that Starr wanted to protect her boys. Smile

I have to say that I have many issues with GH these days. The show seems more and more plot written without a longtime plan. Stories seem to come by opportunity. And with that the show seems completely ruled by RC's supervillains.

I hope they don't decide to have Maxie be Lulu and Dante's surrogate, but I fear that's what's coming. Maxie is a little too zany for my tastes, and I like the more down-to-earth relationship of Lulu and Dante. Also, when Spinelli inevitably returns to Maxie's orbit, it would give him an opportunity to glom onto Dante (as a replacement for Jason).

I want these ideas out of my head, please.

Please don't have Lulu be a surrogate for Lulu/Dante. Pls let Maxie be for Johnny. But just like Skye and Sam got their miracle baby, so will Lulu.

I just hope Liz doesn't carry the baby for her. What I don't understand is Olivia, the long island medium, saw Lulu pregnant. That's why I know she is going to carry one.

When Sonny took off his shoes, I was cracking up too at Sonny. Him jumping in causing that oil spill that killed all those ducks was funny. When Sonny screamed "He has a wife and kid" that REALLY had me laughing.

I recall Sonny giving Jason orders to kill ppl who had a wife and kid but now all of a sudden Sonny cares about ppl with a wife and kid?

I don't think they'd ask Maxie to surrogate because of her heart issues, but I worry they'll ask Olivia. she has no real story now that Heather is gone but that would be too icky for me.

Like Perkie, I'm really happy that the writers didn't go the abortion damage route with Lulu. And now this story can move ahead without the abortion baggage and people losing sight of the real story about a young couple's struggles to create a family.

Lulu's condition is a very real one - and one which isn't necessary as dire as it has been first diagnosed. Women with this problem (bicornuate uterus) can carry children in high-risk pregnancies, so the door is open for a modification of the severity of the original malformation - and then it's baby time. However, whether it's surrogacy or a high-risk pregnancy, a biological Lante baby is definitely possible.

BTW, I thought Dom and Julie were amazing in those scenes yesterday.

As for Duke, I thought he was concerned about the fingerprint test as well. This is one nasty guy - very curious to see what happens next.

RE Joe Scully - if he is going to lie to his son (re Sonny shooting him) on his deathbed, then I'm doubly glad to see him go!!

You can not surgically alter your fingerprints to be an exact match to someone else's. You can obliterate your prints, you can add scars and lines to your prints, but you can't change your prints to look like someone else's because the skin will constantly regenerate from the inside out. Scars that cut deep enough wil marr a print, but skin grafts taken from one person and transplanted to another or takenfrom animals and transferred to humans are so seldom successful that they may be eliminated from consideration. Where the very rare case has been successful at first, ultimately the graft was replaced by scar tissue. Ordinary skin taken from other parts of the body, with the exception of the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet, does not contain the characteristic ridges and will not develop them on transplantation.

But, hey...it's a soap, right?

A little confused as to why LuLu stated no one in the family has this condition -- isn't it the reason her Aunt Bobbie could never have kids? Both B.J. and Lucas were adopted...

I'm thinking more on the idea of Duke switching the PCPD prints to match his, not surgically change his to match the old prints.

Worse death scene in soap opera history! RC should be ashamed of himself. Steve actually looked like he crawled to his mark on purpose so that it would be easier for him to be shoved into the harbor.

No music, no build up...the ultimate enforcer is felled by one bullet. Bernie's death scene was more dramatic.

Poorly written exit for a 21 year veteran of GH. Oh well, Jason really died in Mexico in 2009. RIP Jason Quartermaine/Morgan.

Co-signing this post. Regarding JMB and DZ, kudos! I love when a partnership is totally in synch and firing on all cylinders. These two are the only ones I'd trust for this story, right here, right now. There's more to come, obviously but I'm already riding this roller coaster with them and hanging on with both hands.

I'm also interested in KeMo's work to come, now that SBu is off canvas for the foreseeable future. I'd say the same about RH but haven't seen any current spoilers indicating material for her. Which I think short changes her. I like both KeMo and RH for different reasons and want to see both... Innocent

I agree....changing the prints in the database is the only way it could be done.

I FFWDed everything except Lulu/Dante/most excellent doctor (super adorable) and Tracy (because she makes everything better.) These writers have made me love Lante again where I couldn't stand the couple or the individuals just last year.

I feel Jason's "death" was wholly underwhelming. I haven't loved the character in 4 years now but the character deserved a more epic exit. Now, we have to put up with weeks of characters uplifting the memory of Jason. I am beyond tired of seeing Sam already and I think Kelly Monaco is spent. Her acting during the baby reveal, Danny's kidnapping and the subsequent reunion were flat. Understandably, she's probably fatigued... I am already fatigued just thinking about it what's to come. I am looking forward to performances from Maurice Benard, Laura Wright and Rebecca Herbst.

Re: "Duke" and the results of the fingerprints? I am not convinced he is Duke and I believe that Anna is duping him. I do wish Duke let let off a round in Luke but no such luck... Wink

Honestly, I expected Jason to go out in a blaze of glory instead of getting shot in the back and just rolling over. I wonder who Steve Burton pissed off.

I will miss who Jason used to be and I will miss Steve Burton. I hope he is all kinds of happy in all future endeavors.

They certainly don't allow Sam much time before she moves on with John. They will be in bed before the Thanksgiving.

How long before Monica reminds Tracy that Scully couldn't have killed Jason if Tracy hadn't helped him?

Joe was a waste of time and very ineffectual. I had to laugh that both Jason and fakeDuke shot him and he still managed to get up and head to the Q's. Bernie got shot twice too and he is chatting it up with Sonny. I doubt Jason is really dead. I am hoping he is shown laying in a bed next to Robin.

Lulu and Dante saved the show for me. Thank you for not making Lulu's infertility about her abortion. I too am betting that Olivia ends up carrying their child for them. I would love if Liz was given the story but I really don't want to read the haters writing about how horrible she is for selflessly helping them.

Sonny jumped in the water and I laughed. How would he have lifted Jason's dead weight? I really wish we got to see a half dead Jason pulling himself out of the water so it could look like Sonny saved him.

I don't think for a minute that Anna believes he is Duke. I also think she changed the test results. That's why he was so surprised by the results. I just wonder why. Why doesn't she just arrest him and be done with it?

Very anti-climactic ending for the character of Jason Morgan. I wish Steven and his family nothing but the best in Tennessee.

Happy girl that they did not go the abortion route about Lulu's infertility and clearly stated that as well, kudos.

Have to echo GHvetfan and others who feel Burton's exit was unfair. The 20 yr veteran gets a five minute exit scene and Joe Scully Jr. Jr. gets a Shakespearean death that's been dragging on for two days now. Just croak already and get off my screen, blech.

Bummed about Bernie even though he hadn't been around much.

Noticed the Q set back to normal again (that may have happened earlier but I just noticed it yesterday).

GHVet .....IA I hated to see Alan go but his demise in a hail of bullets during the MC hostage storyline was absolutely spell-binding, mesmorizing, and Stuart acted his bum off with no words. The directing was amazing; cried all through it esp when GV's Lucky wanted to save him; Luke didn't want him to and tried to talk him out of it because it would jeopardize them saving LuLu from the hostage crisis. When Lucky busted through the window to save Alan my adrenalin was high...simply amazing work from these actors..

by comparison Robin & Jason's doesn't even rate its like they just wanted to hurry up and get it done out of the way to get back to something else...no creativity... its a pity these two vets did't get the attention they deserved with a kick-A storyline/exit scene (Robin's was a tad better)...even JJ's Lucky's (from the fire) rated high on my list of exit sceenes...This is downright pitiful.

Its the same ole' formula first there are too many revolving door villain after villain secondly they play out nearly the same ole' way ....

they have an opportunity to step outside the lines but do they do it?

No. I have read a lot of fan fiction over the years re: Jason's death one is titled 'the death of Jason Morgan' and the reality doesn't hold a candle to it. Its amateaur hour my students could have come up with a better story. (Rant over just disappointed with these 21 year vet's sloppy ending).

As for LuLu's baby storyline; I realize their shippers are happy but honestly after these lengthy baby stories Jake, Jason's baby which has eaten this show alive & will continue to do so (like Micheal did back in the day), Jocelyn etc...I'm just not up for another one so soon...I can use just a break in between.

Lulu's story brought tears to my eyes but Sonny (MB) made me full out cry. JMB, DZ and MB were wonderful! Although I've been very frustrated with Sonny for a few years now I have always liked the character and I love Maurice.

The show was an emotional rollercoaster between Lante, Sam and John, and Sonny and Bernie. Well done by all of them!!

I hope Duke Lavery or this imposter dies an excruciating death as soon as possible!!!

I enjoyed Monica and Tracy's scenes!
