HomeTVThe Young and The RestlessSharon is Going Cuckoo For Cocoa Puffs on The Young and the Restless Luke Kerr October 31, 2012 The Young and The Restless, TV Recap 16 Comments Sharon (Sharon Case) was on the verge of going stir crazy in the little cottage hideaway where Adam (Michael Muhney) stashed her. Once Adam told her her he believes she's having a mental breakdown, it only made Sharon act nuttier. I’m not sure what to think of this storyline, but Case is doing a bang up job. Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Lily (Christel Khalil) were talking about how he didn’t get the Jabot job, when Neil (Kristoff St. John) showed up and offered him the position of his right hand man at the company. Neil then asked Lily to visit Jabot later that day because he had a job in mind for her. Genevieve (Genie Francis) arrived after Neil left and begged Cane to help her. Cane washed his hands of his mother, saying he wasn’t going to let her hurt his wife and father-in-law. I found the whole conversation ironic. This is Cane the con man who has lied and betrayed Jill (Jess Walton) and Katherine (Jeanne Cooper) in numerous ways since hitting Genoa City. Yet they always forgive him, while treating Billy (Billy Miller) like a pariah. Cane is as frustrating a character as Lily is bland. Kevin (Greg Rikaart) demanded that Adam answer his and Chloe's (Elizabeth Hendrickson) questions about their company. Adam promptly told his business partners that he was done with their company. He said Kevin needed to find someone to buy him out. Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Jack (Peter Bergman) visited a doctor, who told Jack that the fragment had shifted and could prove fatal without immediate surgery. Because of Newman, Jack postponed the surgery. Phyllis tried to convince Jack to set up an appointment, but he dodged her entreaties. I will be pretty upset if Jack loses Newman because Victor (Eric Braeden) or Victoria (Amelia Heinle) take advantage of his medical situation. 16 Responses Restless Fan October 31, 2012 I can’t stand the character of Cane. Never have. The only time I liked him was when he was bleeding to death on the church steps. His pretentious attitude towards Genevieve makes me dislike him even more. I want so desperately to see that character kicked in the crotch for being an all around douche bag. Send him and Lily away. I find that coupling bland and uninteresting. Log in to Reply Bartman202 October 31, 2012 I, too, am confused by Cane’s actions. He has deceived people since Day One when he came to Genoa City under the guise of Jill’s alleged “switched-at-birth” son. However, since the character of Genevieve is leaving by week’s end, this is probably a means to an end in getting rid of his mother. I guess having Sharon go through this breakdown is the way to bring the character back from “MAB Hell” Just like in real life, she will have to go thru Hell in order to get to Heaven. Once it is discovered by all that Sharon was the one who started the Newman Ranch blaze, it will all go downhill from there. The only way back will be up…! Looking forward to seeing the ride Sharon Newman will be taking – Sharon Case is doing a great job, IMO!! Log in to Reply kintex October 31, 2012 After MAB’s destruction of this couple and Sharon in particular, I like the direction of this storyline and where I think or hope its heading. Sharon spent a lot of time trying to save Adam so it is good to see her and Adam switch roles. I also like that we are starting to get the old Adam back. They have barely shared screen time in the last couple of months so I am enjoying their interactions and the renewal of their friendship. I think the actors are also doing a marvelous job. It is easy to see that Sharon is having a mental breakdown and she is scared of facing the reality of the situation, which could mean losing joint custody of Faith and jail time for the arson. Adam is also conflicted, he feels responsible for Sharon but he also has a wife at home he is trying to take care of. Chelsea also feels Adam is slipping away. I find the story interesting and after the false starts given to Shadam I hope this time they make it. They did a poor job with Abby and Harmony’s exits. I think Abby’s last scene was with Carmine? No scenes with her father, uncles, or siblings? Harmony’s last scene was with Neil? They barely knew each other. She didn’t get any scenes with the people she is actually related to like Devon, Tucker or Catherine. At this rate, I expect Genevieve’s last scenes will be with Ronan. Is Heather still on the show or did she exit at some point? Log in to Reply TraceyAbbot101 October 31, 2012 well… what happened to the subplot of Sarge knowing Harmony from the past? Did I blibk and miss something? I had to laugh, today, when Big Red just about crawled up Jack’s butt to hear the conversation between him and Adam at the bar. She acted like a big red snake, slithering along in the grass, to catch her prey. Poor Chipmunk, seems both Adam and Phyllis are pulling out of Grab and Tag. Log in to Reply kintex November 1, 2012
KINTEX, where did U get the idea, that Abby is related to Tucker, Devon or Catherine?
I was talking about Harmony. I mentioned Abby didnt get any scenes with her siblings, father or uncles. I then made reference to Harmony’s last scenes with Neil and how she didnt get any scenes with those she is related to like Devon (son), Tucker (son’s father and latest bed partner) and Catherine (grandmother to her son and AA sponsor?) No matter what though, Abby was a terrible ending and they barely have any Abbotts left and she is definitely a better actor than dimwit Kyle, so she would have been a better keeper. Log in to Reply RebeccaJ November 1, 2012 I think Sharon is doing a great job with this storyline too. Log in to Reply harlee490 November 1, 2012 Sharon Case is doing great work! Josh, I think is writing Sharon with a conscience again similar to Bill…tradgic heroine and it fits her. Cane being righteous grates my gay nerve! |( In a strange way I like that Lily is going back to work and this new love interest I bet this new person will be on her team. Maybe with Josh…Lily might have a new direction and not boring Lily. I’m enjoying the hell out of Adam\Sharon\Chelsea. Watch your back Sharon I also like how they are making friendships again just simple friendships. I love the girl talk between Chole & Chelsea today! They need a good girlfriend friendship again, Y&R always shined on that front Cricket\Nina, Ashley\Liv, Dru\Sharon, (I would Dru in this Sharon story) Lily\Colleen, Nikki\Kay, Lauren\Phyllis so I like the connection between Chelsea & Chole. Loving Avery she’s a beautiful geek (like Ashley) I’m personally drooling on my TV screen…Jack/Phyllis. I always loved those two together, MS plays off of PB SO much better then JM. That’s not a dig on JM but MAB WORE IT OUT! It represents a whole different side of freedom for Phyllis. She doesn’t have to hid her deeds from Jack and Jack loves Phyllis for Phyllis…I’m loving the scenes of them together. I was busting out loud at Phyllis today trying to evesdrop on Jack & Adam’s conversation. I like that Adam is working for Jack but something in the back of my head saying Adam is conning Jack. Adam knows Victor is having his “golden children” to get back NE but I think it will be Adam to get it back or at part of NE to show Victor and give it to Victor as a partner Why I said part of NE maybe Jack will retain the costemic divisions of NE under the umbella of Jabot becoming a costmetic magnet! Log in to Reply pferrando November 1, 2012 We do need to get the Sharon storyline wrapped up. Let’s get her help already so we can have the old Sharon back. This is dragging a bit for me. I am liking the calmer feeling of the show. Just small stuff like Chloe and Chelsea talking. That didn’t stop me from rolling my eyes over the sudden revelation that Chel is a “designer”, but I guess I need to see where that’s going. I’m not quite sure why they are having Jack have this surgery, but as long as he keeps control of NE I can deal as well. I would like to see Gloria, Lauren, Kay and Lily more but the cast still is rather large. Soon all these new characters will hit the screen so that makes me a little nervous too. Keep the vets on the screen. Log in to Reply harlee490 November 2, 2012 I read Lauren & Michael is going to have a big story coming up. Kay will now Jill is coming home. I thought Chelsea as a designer was little precious also but I’m liking the friendship developing on the screen. Log in to Reply tedew November 2, 2012 Regarding Jack’s surgery … shouldn’t we all move to Genoa City where such events can take place so magically fast? I’m also thinking that even though Katherine is a senior citizen, she’d probably be a bit better able to walk a little less stooped if she took all those coils of pearls or whatever she’s wearing that day off her neck. Why does Ronan of all persons get saddled with the geekiest youngest looking tween of all? In a way he does but mostly he does not look like he’d be related. I caught a tiny bit of Y&R in the background at work and was astounded at Nick describing Avery as being ethical. So it’s being ethical by pretending to be someone’s lawyer while actually playing for the other team (re: when Sharon was the Newman Company head)? Also caught a bit of B&B a bit later and starting wondering why Eileen Davidson is no longer on the Y&R canvas. There probably is no other Ashley and she should really still be around. Log in to Reply tedew November 2, 2012 Now having seen today’s episode who’s starting to annoy me more now? Could it be unpunished unrepentant poor old harassed hypocritical Phyllis reverting to true form? Or … The Genoa City Super Hypocrite of all time (Nikki) on a vendetta against Sharon? It was slightly interesting seeing Victor sort of admitting partial responsibility. It will be interesting see how all respond to finding out the real reason behind Sharon’s past and recent actions and behavior. Log in to Reply Dyllan November 2, 2012 IMO, so far Griffith is an improvement over MAB. There are many storyline in which I am indifferent about, but that’s an improvement over the amount of hate and frustration I felt over the previous regime’s storylines. The show could use some tweaks, but I’m happy so far. I would like less Avery. She does NOTHING for me. I find her relationship with Nick to be a bore (as well as Avery, herself). Surprisingly, I’m enjoying the Chelsea/Chloe friendship. I found Chloe boring ever since she got stuck in Kevin’s orbit (who has turned into the biggest douche/whiner/user-asking Michael for a loan after he said “go to hell”). However, I enjoyed Chloe and Chelsea bonding over fashion and they have chemistry. Y&R hasn’t developed a decent friendship since Dru/Sharon. I never bought the Chloe/Victoria friendship. Villy was MAB’s pet couple. The new writers are not bending over backwards to prop this overrated couple (thank goodness) or Amelia Heinous. Now, Victoria is back to be a spoiled bratty child, but Billy has completely lost his spine. I’m rooting for a divorce! I love that the new writers are investing in Jack, again. He was declawed under MAB. I’m okay with Sharon’s storyline. It appears the writes are developing a psychological storyline for the character versus just sh*tting on the character (i.e. MAB and the stealing). Phyllis is still obnoxious and I want her off my screen. I have never hated a character on a show before. Log in to Reply tedew November 2, 2012 And Phyllis seems to be getting worse and more obnoxious by the day since that massive smack down went completely flat.
