I Can't TAKE IT! The Q's Say a Thanksgiving Goodbye to Edward on General Hospital

I've already been blubbering and blowing snot all over the place, due to Stephanie Forrester's (Susan Flannery) Cher-worthy farewell tour on The Bold and the Beautiful. Now it's time to say goodbye to Edward "Grandfather" Quartermaine (the late John Ingle) on General Hospital.

Check out the preview below of the Q's saying goodbye to their patriarch, as Lulu (Julie Marie Berman) and Dante (Dominick Zamprogna) learn how Maxie's (Kirsten Storms) can help them have a family this Thanksgiving on GH.

This is such a great promo.

I am so much looking forward to Skye returning! Especially will be nice to see her scenes with AJ, I am sure she will be very happy to see him alive. And that means there will be at least one person, besides Monica and Alice, in AJ's corner. They always had a great sibling relationship.

I really don't know why they had to put Lulu and Dante's D-storyline into this promo. There was more than enough material to keep it all about the Q's for the 16 seconds.

Now I'm wondering whether Maxie is going to somehow volunteer Ellie to be Lulu and Dante's surrogate.

I will not watch a surrogate story. Yucko. Why couldn't they adopt. I know some people where all the other forms of conceiving did not work out. One even lost twins at five months after one extreme to have a child. I don't want to watch it in the afternoon. I will just check to see who is featured on the show that day and not watch. Most people are aware of all the different options and it is not like daytime has to make people aware. Stories like this make me want to go outside and scream.

Yes, it will be sad about Edward. Daytime really had some greats.

pumpkin, Lulu lied in the interview for adoption, and her lies are now in a database that all adoption agencies will access, so adoption is out of the question for them.

I'm crying just watching that promo of Edward's death. I can't even imagine how many kleenexes I'm going to go through.

I dont think I will watch GH. It will just be so sad but he deserves a episode for him. I think Maxie will be the surrogate for Lulu and Dante. You know what, bring back Ned and Skye back permantly.

Lulu went from wanting the thrill of being a danger junkie to file clerk at the PCPD to Haunted Star owner and now she has baby rabies. Puzzled

I will miss Edward!

This is a pretty quick memorial if it is on Thursday. I hope they don't rush it.

It's so obvious that they're making Maxie the surrogate

I usually love watching the Q's on Thanksgiving, this is going to be so sad Sad RIP John Ingle

This is going to be very sad. Very sad and good. To know Tracy will not be saying "Daddy" not very often anymore after this week is like a knife.

It would be nice if Tracy starts "seeing" Alan on a more regular basis as she tries to cope with Edward's passing and AJ's revival.

What a sad day Thanksgiving will be this year just with the memorial of John Ingle's Edward Q! I wish they'd brought back a tamer version of his great granddaughter Brooklyn to sing just as they did with Lila. RIP Mr. Ingle.

They can't have Maxie be the surrogate due to her heart transplant. If they do, it's completely irresponsible and ridiculous. Hopefully someone will remember Maxie's heart issues and this absurd idea will be put to rest.

So sad about Edward. The character deserves more than a one day memorial and a joint promo.

@ js3557, On B&B they just had one of their characters give birth and she had a heart transplant as well. Also, in real life, there was a woman in New Jersey who gave birth to twins after she had a heart transplant. So it's possible. Just saying...

Yeah, it's possible... but you wouldn't have your best friend PURPOSELY risk her life by trying to bring a child into this world for you because you cannot wait a couple of months to come up with a better plan.
I mean, those ppl you described had 1.) a baby of their own, and 2.) probably was a happy "accident" (at least it was on B&B).

I didn't mean to sound like it wasn't physically possible. What I meant was that it was too dangerous for Maxie and for the baby. Imagine how Lulu would feel if Maxie became pregnant and then she and the baby died, or if there was a medical situation in which they had to choose Maxie or the baby.

Drama filled, and yes, sad, but will make for good soap. Will also give Maxie something to do other than pine after Spinelli.

Little confused. I watched the episode today and I have a couple of questions. When Tracy saw Edward and she yelled "HE'S COLD!!" was Edward dead? I ask this because Sam and her son went to see Edward afterward, was he alive when he touched Danny's finger? Sorry to sound like an idiot but that confused me.

It's not bad question at all, Mets82. From my experience, when someone is dying (especially older people), their circulation slows to a point where they feel cold to the touch. That's what Tracy was feeling. He was still alive, but he was slowing to a natural stop.
