HomeTVDays of Our LivesKristen Torments Marlena on Days of Our Lives Luke Kerr December 7, 2012 Days of Our Lives, TV Recap 11 Comments Kristen (Eileen Davidson) hunted down Marlena (Deidre Hall) to find out why she hadn’t spilled to John (Drake Hogestyn) about her having sex with Brady (Eric Martsolf). She needed Marlena to tell John to help further her plot, and quickly started to torment her nemesis. Marlena said Brady was too fragile for Kristen's clutches. Of course, John walked up as the two were talking. Meanwhile, Brady ran into Maggie, (Suzanne Rogers) who told him that she’d never seen him look better. Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) both found out Daniel (Shawn Christian) had taken supplies to the Brady pub, so they rushed off to keep him company. Neither was happy to discover the other at the cabin, and an argument quickly broke out about the good doctor. Eric (Greg Vaughan) approached EJ (James Scott) about getting a photo of him for the church’s building fund. EJ was shocked the church would want to use a DiMera in a promotional photo. The conversation topic soon turned to Nicole. EJ warned him that Nicole does not change. 11 Responses Secrets and Lies December 8, 2012 Lots of characters talking out loud to themselves this week Reilly-style. The lighting also seemed a lot more natural this week. How many different ways can they use that one little room with the window (Marlena’s office, abortion clinic, hospital lost and found, I know there have been others)? I wonder why Kristen’s big return isn’t doing more for ratings? I’m definitely watching more and while it isn’t “explosive” it’s being written much better than the other major return of the last few years (Carly, Vivian, Jack, Marlena, John, Austin, Carrie). I think the reason for lack of ratings might be that compared to a show like GH, Days moves slowly and there isn’t enough intrigue and plot twists to keep people really glued to tune in every day. Days keeps improving little by little quality wise, but will it be too little too late or do they have something big coming up that will spike the ratings enough for a renewal? I’m sorry but,Marlena and John’s marriage is so boring that I hope when he finds out about Brady and Kristen being together it drives him crazy with jealousy. It’s so apparent that John still has a thing for Kristen and I would love to see them have a romantic fling again. Log in to Reply pjc722 December 8, 2012 Now, if DOOL doesn’t turn Kristen into a one dimensional Dimera EVIL character than she will be great for the show. I mean, soaps need a bitch! But with a 50/50 bitch/angel woman on the show, it needs to spread Kristen out and, sadly, that means getting rid of some of the other bitches in town. Kristen needs to do her “I still want John” routine but she also needs to have her hands in other business too. She can’t be in just one storyline otherwise its just dull and too transparent. If Kate left town, Kristen could take that mantel and be the business woman who is ruthless and still be after John. Let her find out a little this or that about other characters and use that against them for her own gains. The fact that the show has Eileen Davidson back in there midst along with Deidre Hall makes for a great rivalry like Cliff and Jr, Vickie and Dorian, Rachel and Iris, Brooke and Stephanie (early years) and Alexis and everyone in Denver. When the evil character is STUCK in one story, it’s just not useful or compelling. Right now Kristen is fixated on John and it looks less BITCH and more CRAZY. Log in to Reply alstonboy4315 December 9, 2012 Kristen’s “machinations” seem so childish and silly. The writing is predictable and stale, even though Eileen and Eric have great chemistry. Stealing cell phones and writing pretend journal entries seems like something an amateur would do, not Kristen!! And John Black is back to being the dumbest character on soaps, which I guess was bound to happen eventually…….but at least he now has a PURPOSE. Log in to Reply snags December 10, 2012 Kristen’s return has been lackluster. I fnd it interesting that in general, the females are all wary of Kristen (Marlena, Jennifer, Hope and Sami). Whereas the males have all turned and believe she’s “innocent”. Especially John. Yes, I nderstand they are trying to provide tension between John and Marlena, but here was a woman who was willing to trap John’s wife and do all these dastardly things to get to him. Aside from Benjy and Lexie, I really can’t recall a DiMera who can’t resist going to the “dark side”. Maybe Renee however I wasn’t old enough to remember her. But if Marlena were to tell John that she wanted to give Stefano the benefit of the doubt, he would be arching his eyebrow and tell Marlena she’s crazy. Kristen has a score to settle, it’s obvious. But once again John is being extremely stupid. But the way it’s written, her tactics are so juvenile. It’s Sami when she was a teen. Come on! And that room has also served as Jennifer’s office. It’s so obvious how much they are trying to save money but being so obvious. Maybe Renee ….[/quote] Neither Lexie nor Renee were exactly angels. Renee tried to kill Tony’s first wife Anna and slept with Tony even after finding out they were half-siblings. Lexie was unfaithful to Abe at least twice. And then she committed blackmail, bribery, and concealment of a child’s identity when she was trying to keep Hope’s son Isaac. I’m even losing interest in Will and Sonny thanks to Gabi’s anchor baby and mumbly mouth Nick. Where the eff is Kate? Lucas? Stefano? Hell, I will even take some Abe and Theo scenes to this tripe (Dannifer, Gabi, Nick,). Sami has been turned into a Stepford, never thought it would happen, but it did. Log in to Reply hey mon December 10, 2012 I remember Renee Dumonde, and when she slept with Tony, knowing there were half-siblings. Not sure how much of the story that Tony believed at the time. But, alas, Renee was killed the same night by Jake Kositchek. Renee was always a pathetic person, never quite secure and stable, much like her sister/mother, Lee. Now I remember, Maggie DePriest cleaned it up by immediately bringing in Mrs Daphne DiMera, who proclaimed that Tony was not Stefano’s son (which of course ended up being a lie). She was definitely a dark-sider, although I felt sorry for her. Log in to Reply GaryJr December 10, 2012 I live for Kristen and Marlena’s staring contests. This is how I feel. I had an hour to kill so I watched Friday’s episode and basically FF through most of the stories. Will & Sonny can’t hold my attention anymore because it’s just painful to watch this RIDICULOUS SET-UP. The only spark is between Marlena and Kristen. I’m even bored with Nicole whom I normally love. Anything associated with Daniel & Jennifer is storyline poison as far as I’m concerned. Get these two actors OFF my show! Log in to Reply hey mon December 10, 2012 Too bad they can’t make Will a bi, then the story-line would have some realism to it. Oh well. The writers have to rely on this stupid, super-man Will, who can get a girl pregnant in just one shot; and then, POW, it happens. I understand it can happen that way, but it usually doesn’t. If the Powers made Will a bi, then they would have story-line possibilities for years to come, as Will vacillates between Gabi and Sonny. So much for backbone of the powers at DAYS. What the rest of the Show needs is another Melaswen serial killer, and get rid of the dead weight around Salem. Only this time, make it permanent and real (the killings). Log in to Reply Yoryla December 17, 2012 Loved these scenes! Especially when Marlena does NOT tell John and Kristen is going nuts thinking why? THAT was the first glimpse of the 90’s Kristen, she was babbling to herself, saying: “I’m not gonna let that bitch ruin this for me!” Haha!
