General Hospital: Perkie's Observations

At the crash site, Starr and Michael try to help Ellie, who informs them she can’t move.  Kristina calls Johnny over to check on an unconscious Trey.  Johnny wants to go find help, but Connie doesn't think Johnny should leave due to his earlier confession. Johnny thinks Connie should focus on her son, who could potentially be dying.

Basking in the afterglow, Carly is happy, but wonders what it all means.  Todd claims it wasn’t just an urge, so Carly asks what’s next.  Todd wishes to know what she wants, because he can’t believe she’d actually want him. Todd expresses his desire to move things forward with her, but Carly seems a bit reserved.

Steve and Olivia are in bed, when he says he has something to ask her.  Steve knows he wants to be with Olivia forever, and pulls out an engagement ring. He proposes, and Olivia asks if he’s ready to let go of his bachelorhood. Steve assures her that he's ready, and she accepts his proposal.

Lulu feels guilty she and Dante are so happy, while Maxie lives like a nun.  Dante tells her to stop worrying, because everything is fine. Before the couple can continue their conversation, Michael calls Dante about the accident.

Spinelli and Maxie fall into old habits and make love. After, Spin immediately regrets what just transpired.   He apologizes and worries they may have hurt the baby.  Maxie tells him she's sure their lovemaking didn't harm the baby.

Sabrina gives Liz a run down of her New Year’s Eve with Patrick, including Britt's naked arrival to Patrick's house. Before Liz can comment, she receives a call about the accident and leaves to prepare. Steve gets a similar call, and does the same.

Starr asks Johnny if he was telling the truth, and Johnny admits again he caused the accident.  Starr wonders why Connie went along with the lie, and claims they deserve each other.

The paramedics take Ellie and Trey to the hospital.  Connie tries to take off, but her car won’t start.  She tries to walk off instead, but Dante catches her. She plays innocent, until Dante says he knows she abducted Johnny.  Connie makes up a story about driving Johnny to the police station, because he confessed to murdering Starr's family. Dante doesn't buy her story for a second, and has her handcuffed to a car on the scene.

At the hospital, Liz drags Johnny off for stitches, while the medical team works on Ellie and Trey.  Michael calls Carly to inform her that he and Starr have been in an accident, but they're okay.  Johnny begs Starr for a chance to explain. He claims he tried to make things up to her, but Starr isn't having it. She shouts that he is responsible for murdering her family, and cannot make up for it.

Johnny admits he bought her recording contract, in hopes of helping her heal.  Starr tells him it is impossible to heal once you've lost a child. She feels an ache everyday that will never go away. Michael is angry Johnny pretended to be Starr’s friend.  Starr hates Johnny for robbing her of her family.

Sabrina leaves a voice message for Spin from Ellie’s phone, which Spin ignores.  Maxie advises him to call Ellie back, but Spin wonders what Maxie was going to tell him earlier.  Maxie confesses she had a miscarriage, but Spinelli is fast asleep.

Olivia stops by Lulu’s to tell her she and Steve are engaged.  Both women are thrilled their family is expanding so quickly.

Connie manages to escape from police custody, and heads to the hospital to check on Trey.  She stands in the room and watches, as Trey flatlines. Steve desperately tries to revive him.

Dante arrives at the hospital, and Johnny admits to causing the accident, which killed Starr's family.  Carly and Todd show up, and Starr informs them of Johnny's misdeeds. Carly is floored to hear Johnny is the culprit. Johnny swears he tried to tell Carly a million times, but something always stopped him. Carly wonders why Connie would cover for Johnny. She quickly begins to become angry and hurt over Johnny’s lies.

Johnny claims he never lied about loving her, and declares he never meant to hurt any innocent people.  Carly regrets her time with Johnny, and is glad she’s moved on with Todd.  Johnny believes she’s only going from one criminal to another, but Carly thinks Todd is honest.  Johnny asks Todd if he's bared his soul yet. Carly seems confused by the comment, and asks Johnny to elaborate. He only wants to know if he or Todd should tell the Carly the truth.

Starr/JOhnny: I liked it. I think KA did a good job of showing shock, anger and grief. When she made the comment that you never get over the loss of a child, I actually teared up.

I really, really wanted Johnny to spit it out that Todd knew the truth. And those flashbacks made me think Johnny needs a new haircut, or a good long shower.

Spixie: Ugh. There are no words.

Loved the happyness between Lulu and Olivia.

I think Brandon Barash did all of the heavy-lifting in this episode. Johnny's guilt trumped every one else's reactions. Kristen Alderson has needed serious acting coaching for years. She and Chad Duell do little more than scowl to convey EVERY emotion. I'm glad the truth of Hope & Cole's death has been revealed. Now on to Todd's role being exposed. I am curious how he will evade the allegations. Also, Carly's reaction that this is ALL about her being lied to was in-character and particularly callous as Starr stood right there. Um, Starr's 3-year old daughter was killed. Lol. We''ll be treated to how this all impacts Carly. Granted, Laura Wright brings it whereas Kristen Alderson, well, does not.

Kristina is upset (cue: same expressionless expression.)

Cue: Rebecca Herbst trotted out for Liz to prop Sabrina because rather than writing an actual character, we'll need Liz to transmit the idea that Sabrina is such a wonderful person worthy of replacing Robin as her friend, Patrick's wife and Emma's mother.

Cue: extremely orange Bradford Anderson because Spinelli and Maxie had such wild sex it wrecked her entire living room (thankfully, sex had offscreen.) Ellie be damned! I guess her walking into her own living room was completely out of the realm of possibility by a SOBER Maxie. Since the sex was had offscreen, couldn't it have happened in her bedroom?

Also, oompah loompah-colored Steven Lars proposing to chipmunk-cheeked Olivia. I get concerned about Scott Reeves lung-capacity because his heavy-breathing is distracting. Luckily, not for much longer...Olivia couldn't predict a proposal or vision an actual wedding. At least Lulu's reaction to Olivia's engagement announcement was adorably infectious.

Oh, how could I forget:

-- Michael finally gets cell phone service and calls Dante INSTEAD of 911!

-- We were cheated out of an actual Liz/Johnny interaction! I would have preferred to see that over Liz's scenes with AJ a few weeks back. Argh!!! I imagine Liz and Johnny would have great chemistry and we'll never see it. Dammit.

Ok you guys need to ease up on KA. She is not that bad. She's not a Meryl Streep but she's not a Jessica Alba either...LOL. It's true, I've been softened to her because I've watched her ever since she was a tiny little girl. But hey, she runs circles around the girl that plays Kristina and Felicia, Sabrina, Dr. Westnile....
Oh and another thing...Lisa LoCicero needs to lay off the Botox

Really LOVED the scenes between Starr and Johnny today. This is the first time Kristen Alderson had impressed me since she was a little girl on "One Life to Live"....I really wasn't a big fan of hers on OLTL.

Brandon Barash is fraking SEXY AS HELL! OMG!

I think Liz and Johnny have some chemistry there....that would be a very nice couple.

Spinelli and Maxie....ugh

Cannot wait till Johnny reveals everything about Todd. It's gonna be amazing.

I was SOOOOO excited to see Steve and Olivia engaged. Those scenes were so great and I just love Olivia. And Scott Reeves body....AMAZING! So sexy! Then I quickly remembered Scott Reeves is leaving the show!

So that means Olivia and Steve won't get their happiness, Lulu and Dante will not get their happiness because of no baby (or not their baby), and Kristina and Trey will not get their happiness. Geez, does anything happy ever happen on soaps anymore?

Please force Kristen Alderson to take acting lessons or recast the role. The girl can't act after close to 20 years of trying to do it!

I admit I was hard on KA when she first started, mostly because I didn't know her, not having watched OLTL. But I would take KA's Starr every day and twice on Sundays over LM's Kristina. I don't even know what she was going for in that final scene. Trey was coding and she wasn't giving anything. Not fear, or grief, or worry. It's the same face she used when Sonny told her she couldn't go to LA.

Todd always manages to ooze out of whatever problems he creates for himself, so I'm not worried about him. Connie will revert to Kate, so she'll get away with all of her shenanigans. The one I'm concerned about is Johnny. How does he get out of all of this without being sent away. If he admits to actually killing Anthony, there's no way he can get out of that...is there?

BB always brings it.Johnny is one of the few characters that the old regime kept.
What I want to see is when Michael gets on his high horse about Johnny is evil and did a stupid thing. Not as stupid as what Michaels father did,try to blow up Johns car and almost killed his own daughter.he couldn't even own it.No guilt just Kristina was suppose to be home .had it not been for Johnny,Michael would be out one sister, and scummy a daughter killed by his own hand.. No excuses John was wrong,Anthony deserved to die actually a slow painful death .John has been feeling the guilt since the beginning. He had to marry Connie isn't that pain enough.Of course he also got to stick it to Connie for a minute..
I admit the show has improved with FrankenRon a hundred percent, but Sonny and Sean kidnapped Connie tied her to a chair and they both got to walk away.made me wonder if Guza was in the writers room?
Carley Todd who cares he was funny at first, now not so much. Suffer Carly you keep saying Todd is honest??? are you brain dead. he kept Jason's son from him the same way you kept Nickolas's son from him. Then you kept Jax's daughter and Sonnys son from them. You slept with these guys then they are not good enough for their kids.? Cry Carley I will enjoy that scene.

I get so tired of Johnny be shown as some evil guy. He is one of the few characters on the show that is actually shown as having true guilt that has haunted him. Sonny had no problem shooting Dante point blank- car bombing Johnnys car- shooting up Robins house- messing with Jaxs plane.. I know what Todd has done here however I know his crimes from OLTL is an even longer list. Yet Johnny is the big baddie.. I seriously hope that after this he is paired with either Ellie or Liz.

I just can't get into Mikey and Star. Kristina is so vapid!! They need a new young people crew..

All sorts of yuck to Spixie.. It did not even occur to Spin that maybe Ellie was calling because she was stranded somewhere.. Seriously hating the turn this story is taking..

I,too, hate the way the Lante/Maxie surrogacy story line has morphed into Spinelli being the father versus both women being pregnant by Dante at the same time. Lante would have found out that Lulu's original lab work had been tampered with. Just imagine the story line potentials with Maxie, Lulu and Dante over the next nine months and after both babies are born. Would Maxie be able to walk away from the baby that she carried for nine months? Dante bonds with Maxie a little too much while she's pregnant and Lulu is jealous.

I keep expecting for Starr (who I loved growing up on OLTL) to receive a phone call from Cole after he finally regained all of his memories just as Johnny is courted off to prison. Of course, Johnny still killed Anthony in his living room!

Connie is the real deal and Kate is the alter.

I actually caught the majority of last night's episode and I really liked it, even if I wished a number of characters died in the accident.

I'll start with the gross parts of the episodes... Maxie has a miscarriage and goes abck to her place and has sex with Spinelli. Not only is it gross because she just discovered she lost the child (I would think that would have been a great scene for her to show up at Felicia's for a hug from her mom or Mac) but also because in the prior episode she spent the ENTIRE show telling Ellie to go to Spinelli because he chose her! I hate the notion on soaps that when tragedy occurs the very first thing a man or a woman thinks to do is have SEX!!!!!!!!!! Maxie and Spinelli have been ruined for me.

And to say that the surrogacy story toppled with the "I want a kid" Lulu connection was quick is an understatement.

Then you have Steve, played with the greatest amount of DULLNESS Steve Reeves can muster, asking Olivia to marry him and we are forced to have a close up of Lisa LOcercio's botoxed, injection filled face because it's becoming AWFULLY DIFFICULT to create a facial expression (not being mean but STOPPPPPP!!!!) say YES. Sweet but enough already.

Then shoot to the hospital where you have Kristina trying to act emotional but the actress has as much skill as a corpse at expressing the necessary emotion of the moment. Wish she was killed off too... OR REPLACED! In the background to the hospital you have Connie holding up a file folder to cover her face AND NO ONE NOTICES even though if she walked in without the file folder you would see her. UNBELIEVABLE the unintentional comic relief added into every episode by the writers.

Now, the best part of the episode is Johnny and Barash. Barash is a great actor and delivered his scenes with Starr and Michael (sorry, Michael facial expressions at every emotional moment... anger, happiness, sadness, confusion... is the same face my 6 month old niece makes when she's filling up her diaper after eating for me to change...just one big pushing frown!) with gusto! Starr shreiked that the dead were her boyfriend and daughter and as much as I wanted to cry... I tried... I couldn't. Alderson can act but I just couldn't buy it from her. And Michael being all touchy feely as she was being emotional, had me wishing she looked at him and said "STOP IT!!! i want to beat this piece of crap up and all you want to do is unhook my bra!" (Sorry, I just find their relationship more friendship than lovers).

The finale of the episode fell on Todd's actions being revealed. Finally, throughout all of this with Johnny being yelled at by Starr, Todd stood there silent and Carly... complaining that Johnny lied to her and not saying you killed a child... never once looked at Todd and said "wait a second, why aren't you killing him with your bare hands?!!"

We all know both Johnny and Todd will be arrested. But Johnny could get off if he had the right lawyer. Johnny shot out Anthony's tires but it was Anthony who hit Starr's car and then fled the scene so Johnny's lawyers could argue that to get him off. ALthough it's not the full truth, I could buy it and eventually like Johnny again.

But with Todd... i will be PISSED and will most likely stop watching GH if he doesn't get jail. For one thing, Todd is a character that has only paid once for a major crime and that was the brutal gang rape of his dead granddaughter's grandmother, Marty. With the baby-napping, not only did Todd switch 2 babies... one dead and one alive... he also facilitated bringing that kidnapped child across state lines. It is now a FEDERAL CRIME.

Todd has to pay somehow. He has to have jail. He has to be found guilty and can't get off because of some SUPPOSEDLY good deed he does, let's say for Sam, and Sam gets up on the witness stand and he gets off. This has to be an epic FALL from glory for the character for it to be a payoff. We need to see him lose everything from his daughter's respect, to any shred of reputation as a business man, to Carly dumping him and taking up with another man.

If Todd gets off with this crime, then soaps deserve to be the joke they are all over the place no matter how well their ratings improve.

Most of the comments on here reflex everything I think about GH right now, especially pjc22, soapbaby and jasammabby comments. I had to take GH off my DVR. I only watch it on soapnet and even then I find myself turning the channel every 2 minutes. I understand everyone is cheering on GH but if you really look at the storylines, they are horrid. Ppl turned back in to see the great characters of the 80's. But how much you wanna bet that those same ppl who tuned in to see Robert, Anna, Duke, etc are tuning back out since 1) that old lady beat THE Robert Scropio, 2) where the heck is Anna and Duke and lastly 3) Robin is still not in PC but with Jerry. I can't wait to see the numbers after that week. And don't get me started on that freakin Sabrina. She and Britt are EXACTLY alike. Sabrina is the worst. She's using a man's dead wife to get closer to him. She wants to honor Robin with the Nurse's Ball but what she really wants to do is get with Robin's husband. She's nothing but Sabrina The Teenage TRAMP!

"But with Todd... i will be PISSED and will most likely stop watching GH if he doesn't get jail."

The reason Todd will get out of this mess, is the actor Roger Howarth. He is amazing. Suspending our belief and even our values, is part of watching soap operas. It's same reason most people forgave Luke Spencer....Anthony Geary.

Kristen Alderson's acting leaves me cold. Her ATTEMPTS at channeling drama with her face seem forced. Today, I saw nothing that made me feel anything for KA/Starr, other than my usual sense of annoyance. Ship her back to Llanview.

But the chick who plays Kristina made her look like Meryl Streep in comparison.

I am sure that Kelly Sullivan is gonna give another Emmy-worthy performance next week. Though I find the character tiresome---as well as her 90 percent of the time-- she does drama EXTREMELY well. But I am NOT looking forward to more Starr/Connie eating up this show.

This story with Maxie and Spinelli having sex RIGHT after her miscarriage is disgusting and insulting on soooo many levels. Where do I start?

Britt is a walking cartoon. Where is Lisa Niles when you need her?

Maybe, just maybe Maxie didn't have a miscarriage. Maybe she's still pregnant but thinks she isn't. Britt was really distracted. If she did lose the baby Britt knows the truth so it doesn't really make sense to lie.

Trey grew on me, and I'm sad to see him go. But really Kristina cannot carry off the grief, so can we have her go speechless from the shock. I don't mind Starr--or Michael. And please Todd is not going to jail very long. For those of us who never watched OLTL, we don't know the "horrors" he's committed, and compared to Sonny, he seems rather tame.

Over Connie. Over Britt. Over Sabrina.

More Liz please.

Finally ... some love in the afternoon on soaps! I've never been really interested in Olivia and Steve, but their scene was adorable. Smile

Friday was also the first time I've ever scene Johnny & Liz in a scene together. Was that a brief coupling test? hmmm.

And Maxie ... oh Maxie. She reminds me of a younger version of Lucy Coe, and Lucy Coe reminds me of an older version of Maxie. Anyone else agree?

And just an idea/thought for Liason fans: Liz (Rebecca Herbst) is getting no kinda love when it comes to a storyline on GH. Wouldn't it be great if Y&R snagged her as a recast for Paul's daughter, attorney Heather Stevens? I think Rebecca would 'knock-it-out' the park as an attorney .. then she would be paired with Steve Burton. Wink A girl can dream. haha

Thanks BoricuaAngel, I am just hoping the story is not as awful as it seems right now.

I don't think JFP liked Becky very much, so I would doubt she's Y&R bound. They just HAVE to give her something to do, and someone to do it with.

soapbaby, I was just thinking the same thing, but that would mean aging the character of Mac by about seven years. And they would almost certainly pair her with whomever Steve Burton is going to play.

SoapArmageddon, Rebecca Herbst is talented and beautiful. Woefully wasted on GH for reasons I cannot fathom. I'd love for her to get meaningful story as Liz Webber (who I am attached to) but if she were Mac on Y&R, she could mix it up with Billy and that could be very interesting. As far as the character's age, I'm not even sure how old any of these people are actually supposed to be! Billy was aged considerably to be made into a viable romantic partner for Victoria. I'm okay wih soaps playing fast and loose with ages of characters if story is worthwhile.

I really like Ellie (hate her with Spinelli though, his character seems to outlived it's usefulness), and hope she makes it through. They should keep her and get rid of both Sabrina and Britt.

Johnny... I'm not sure how they could get him out of this mess beyond Hope popping back up alive (and then hopefully sending her and her mother over to PP for the OLTL reboot) and then having Diane say since Cole had escaped from prison and was reported dead, so that Johnny couldn't be tried for that crime.

I'm waiting for Carly to have to swallow the fact that Todd actually did help switch the babies and lied about it, knowing almost the whole time that her bestie Saint Jason was the father. Bring it on Johnny!!!

I miss McBain and Sam. Their story which started off great in my book came to a grinding halt when SB decided to leave and they had to write this mess. I also miss Anna, her storyline seems disjointed also.

I don't care a bit for the surrogate story since I doubt Lulu would be all gung ho about having a child NOW, NOW, NOW after pissing and moaning for months about how she was so damn worried about being a cop's wife and then how she wanted adventure and not to be saddled down. Not believable at all. They also need to do something with Maxie's hair. This storyline is wasting both KS's and JMB's talents. I also don't think they'll actually let Maxie carry a pregnancy full term, no matter who's kid it is. KS had so much chemistry with JJ and BB, and it's a shame they won't put her with someone who brings out the life in her character.

I hated all the storylines that were playing out this week on GH!!! Sick Sick Sick Sick Angry Angry

I did not even watch the episodes from Wednesday through Friday until today. The fact that Maxie would have sex right after having a miscarriage and more then likely having a D&C is disgusting and not appropriate medically. I am sure she was told to not have sexual intercource for a certain period of time. I am so over Maxie and Spinelli, and hate what they are doing to the character of Ellie and the pairing of Ellie and Spinelli. The fact that Maxie would lie to her best friend is just not even logical and not something Maxie would do. All Lulu has to do is ask Britt? Hello!!!! I am sure that have rights to her medical history as part as the contract Maxie signed anyway.

This whole Johnny, Connie, Starr storyline I could care less about. I hate they way Johnny has been written since the new regime took over.

Why is Carly being written as having the same relationship with men over and over? She slep with Johnny and he was keeping a secret, then it came out, now the same thing with Todd. And way too much sleeping around on Carly's part.

I miss the vet GH characters. Please bring thim back on pronto.

And for the comments regarding BH joining Y&R. Is it forgotten that Jill Phelps was the individual that fired BH? Do you really think she would hire her? Just like once she was in charge, Genie Francis was out the door.

I find it ridiculous that Maxie has sex RIGHT AFTER A MISCARRIAGE!!! How tasteless can you get? Up to now I have been quite supportive of the current GH writers, but this is a major gaffe in the making. As for Sabrina, I would prefer her as a love interest for A.J., as she has no preconceptions about him. I can't wait to see Carly's world shattered come Monday (I have never liked her no matter who has played her all these years- she has gotten away with too much, the slut!) when Todd's secret comes out. I have had problems buying the whole Steve/Olivia thing- it seems forced. They seem like oil and water to me. Also, the character of Steve Webber has mostly existed as a prop for Heather without having much of a story of his own: first with Shaun Benson, and now with Scott Reeves. I hate the possibility of killing off a 'legacy' character on the show, as past examples (thanks for nothing, Guza!) show that it spells disaster for GH down the road (where are Alan, Justus, Emily, Georgie, Rick Webber?) What is to become of Olivia? A recast for Steve is a much better idea. Speaking of recasts, please bring back the previous Kristina- this one is a whiny brat!

The last couple of shows I found a bit dull. I miss Anna, Duke, Scorpio, and where is Luke? He's been off the show longer then usual it seems. I'd rather watch these guys then Starr, Connie, Trey, Kristina, Spinelli and Maxie. I'm getting bored with the whole surrogate story. I'm glad they are finally winding up the Connie/Johnny story. But I like Brandon B., he was the best part of the last 2 shows. The guy can act and I hope somehow they can keep him on the show. Wish they just sent off Trey and Kristina to LA. The actress just cannot act and shows fake emotions.I can't wait to see Carly give it to Todd for lieing to her. I love how Todd has that look of panic in his eyes that Johnny confessed. I still think he and Blair are a better combo. And where is John McBain? I think it's time for Sam to move on. I want to see some HOT romance on the show!!! That is what is lacking. What the soaps need is another Luke and Laura, 2 actors that just have great chemistry together. If they could find that, the ratings would go thru the roof.
