Days of Our Lives: Chloe Drops the Fatherhood Bomb on Dr. Hairy Chest
So let me get this straight, Days of Our Lives heralded Chloe’s (Nadia Bjorlin) return for months, only to have it be to reveal Parker is Daniel’s (Shawn Christian) son and not Philip’s (Jay Kenneth Johnson)? I got a headache listening to Chloe’s explanation about how, when and why the DNA tests were switched. Then, just for good measure, DAYS trotted out Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) to knock on Daniel’s door and confirm Chloe’s story. She even brought documentation with her.
Daniel had an instant daughter, instant mother and now he has an instant son. DAYS is selling this crap like a stripper with a stake in a lingerie sweatshop.
What compounded the problem was that Philip returned to Salem too, but we didn’t see him onscreen. So now, both Philip and Bo are in Salem, but off screen.
Days of Our Lives really needs to get its act together. How does this idiotic storyline remotely qualify as entertainment? Especially, when paired on the same day with Gabi (Camila Banus) and Nick’s (Blake Berris) wedding preparations.
The would-be father and secret hiding baby incubator walked and talked their way around Salem. Their conversation was so boring my eyes glazed over.
Meanwhile, Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Freddy Smith) prepared for the wedding and bachelor party for Nick.
At Jennifer’s (Melissa Reeves) place, Jennifer tried to leave the house, yet again, but this time she fell over a box of papers Billie (Lisa Rinna) had left on her door. This event provided ANOTHER delay for Jennifer and Dr. Hairy Chest’s anticipated reunion.
Practically everything we see DAYS throw up on our screens is contrived, with a couple of exceptions. The bigger problem is that since the NBC soap tapes months in advance, it's unlikely we'll get relief any time soon.
I said it on Twitter, and I’ll say it again here. The Bold and the Beautiful may have earned Worst Soap of 2012 from me, but at this point, DAYS and B&B are already charging towards the end of the year in a neck-and-neck race for the award in 2013.
