YEEEEK! The Talk Stages a Knots Landing REUNION For Jan. 18!

I can't believe it will be 20 years this May since we had to say goodbye to our best girlfriends, emotional hayseed-turned-novelist Valene Ewing (Joan Van Ark); cul-de-sac Pollyanna Karen Fairgate MacKenzie (Michele Lee) and Karen's unstoppable, insatiable sister-in-law Abby Fairgate Cunningham Ewing Summer (Donna Mills) on Knots Landing.

Next Friday, Jan. 18 fans will be reunited with three of the stars from the long-running, smash CBS soap when The Talk hosts a Knots Landing Reunion Show! I have chills.

Julie Chen and Co. have to ask Mills about "The Abby Scale", the infamous measurement of bitch-goddessness that Abby deemed upstart rival Paige Mathison (Nicollette Sheridan) a mere six on! They also MUST dish on Knots' most iconic storyline, when Valene's newborn twins were stolen from her, courtesy of one of Abby's henchmen! Primetime suds fans, set your DVR NOW. Watch a clip from Karen's Pollyanna speech after the jump!

I remember the scene ” Valennnnnnnnnnnnnnne! Valennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnne! ”

It was my favorite prime time soap. Loved Lisa Hartman Black in her duel roles and the always apple pie Karen M!!

Unfortunately, this show as a little bit before my time. I have seen some clips on YouTube, but I was more of a “Melrose Place”/”Beverly Hills 90210″/”Dawson’s Creek” boy…………

But if Jamey Giddens says it’s the best primetime soap ever, I guess I believe him. lol.

Knots is still my favorite show of all time! I remember the “Abby Scale” and Karen’s famous Pollyanna speech after she was stalked like it was yesterday. As a matter of fact, I could see any scene of any episode of their 14 year run and tell you exactly what season and what storyline it was. Awesome series!
And release the other seasons on DVD already!
AMEN!!! But Warner Brothers has the rights and the company claims that sales for the first two seasons were low, justifying the discontinuation of the releases. I’m a bit suspicious of the justification given that tons of less popular series have been released. I know DALLAS was more popular but I cannot imagine that the show’s later seasons sold many copies.

Well, Knots Landing is one of the GREATEST primetime dramas of all-time.

Knots was the best prime time soap hands down.
My favorite storyline was the baby switch but the second favorite was Ciji’s murder.
And when my poor Laura found out she was dying…I cried like a baby during her memorial episode.

Given my screen name, I cried a few buckets myself. :)

The DVD hold-up also has a lot to do with music used in the show–people have to be compensated for the music, and that eats into the profits.

I miss the show dearly. Though it lacked the flash and trash of
Dallas and Dynasty, it was the superior program.
I always thought Falcon Crest was superior to Knots Landing, Dallas, and Dynasty in just about every way. Maybe it was my teenage hormones talking. The men were so hot!
SoapArmageddon…Falcon Crest was my fave primetime soap, then KL and then Dallas. I loved FC and Jane Wyman! Angela Channing was deliciously diva and she could play off any actor on the show. When she got sick the last season and was absent but like any pro from the golden era of movies she bucked up to return for the last 3 episodes to close out Angela and give fans a proper closing to her character. She looked sick but the wit of Angela never lost a beat!
