According to Soap Opera Digest, General Hospital has put out a casting call for female character who is “Caucasian. Blonde. Beautiful, passionate, complex.” Reportedly, the actress would begin taping in March. 30 Responses Scooter Smith January 16, 2013 Serena Baldwin anyone? Log in to Reply bishbay January 16, 2013 They’re recasting Lulu. JMB is playing hardball in contract negotiations. She also drinks on set with Laura Wright, who supposedly is going to be replaced by Jennifer Bransford, who’s really wowed Cartini with her androgynous energy. Log in to Reply CarlyCfan January 16, 2013 It’s either Serena Balwin or they’e trying to scare/keep in check JMB or Storm. OMG @bishbay don’t ever utter the words Jennifer Bransford again. I’m still having nightmares about her “Carly”. Log in to Reply jthawk January 16, 2013 I’m going to be the first one to say it – Marcy Rylan! Love her and I would love to see what Frank/Ron would do with her. And before the haters start hating, I know she’s 32, but she could play mid-20s! Lord knows if those BH90210 and OTH actors/actresses did it, MR can too! Log in to Reply bottomchef January 16, 2013 casting calls for daytime and primetime soaps are the same. they keep asking for white actors and actresses. how the heck can racial minorities get more roles when all the availability goes to white people? does gh ever get blasted for its lack of racial diversity bec the headwriter is openly gay? it’s like w/ the film cloud atlas. it doesn’t get blasted by the mainstream manhattan entertainment media and hollywood for whitewashing the Asian roles bec the director is transgendered. isn’t port charles a fictional ny based town? then it’s following the footsteps of primetime ny based tv shows w/c lack diversity. hollywood loves using “realism” and “authenticity” bs to keep roles for whites. it’s like w/ mad men: oh there would be no minorities bec of the era of 60s ny. and yet shows like girls and how i met your mother and other ny based tv shows keep only casting white people! horrid! Log in to Reply angrierblackerman January 16, 2013 Probably Serena Baldwin. They should ask the woman who played child Serena (Carly Schroeder) to come in and test! Log in to Reply DonnyA2001 January 16, 2013 Probably Serena Baldwin. The original Serena was in a movie about soccer a few years ago with Elisabeth Shue. She was quite good, it would be awesome if they brought her back. Serena would be amazing in a Serena/Michael/Starr triangle. Or what about Sarah Webber? If Steve IS going to die or leave town when he exits, this could be why they bring her on and give more for Liz to do. Log in to Reply TV Gord January 16, 2013 Where’s alstonboy to pray for a Starr recast? I hope he’s okay. Log in to Reply days4ever January 16, 2013 I hope this is Serena Baldwin. If Scotty and Lucy are back it makes sense. And bottomchef if this role is for a recast of Serena or another character already on the show, how could they cast her with anything other than white? I do agree they should hire a few more diverse contract characters. Remember OLTL had the Patel family that was front and center (hoping that they bring them back for the reboot too). Log in to Reply bishbay January 16, 2013 lol @ Gord Log in to Reply katehhoward January 16, 2013 I too hope it would be Serena but it could also be Sarah Weber. We know that Steve is most likely going to be killed off so it woul donly make sense for Elizabeth to have someone to turn to. I am disappointed that they continue to cast female roles when it is obvious that GH is lacking in the hunks department. Please bring on more men for the love of muscles. Log in to Reply logan_echolls January 16, 2013 I also think it’s Sarah especially since Steve is leaving and they need another Webber on the show. Sarah is a doctor so it would work. Log in to Reply SwanQueen59 January 16, 2013 If it is Sarah Webber that they’re looking to bring on, isn’t she a little older, chronologically than Liz? Mid-twenties would suggest it’s Serena (I’d bring Jen Lilley back for a reading, but that’s me), and I’m confused as to how old is Liz right now? RH is so youthful looking that she could easily pass for someone in her mid-twenties, but to maintain some “age” credibility, JMB’s L, I believe, is younger than Liz. That said,I’d love to see Sarah on canvas again as Liz does need another family member now that SR’s Steve is exiting the roster. And GH does need another doctor. Britt, Patrick and Monica can’t be the only ones staffing the halls… 0:) Log in to Reply samIShot January 16, 2013 I won’t complain about having more women to look at, but there is a disproportionate number of women to men. They need about 3 more men to pair with the women. Ric Lansing should be #1 and should be back to pair with Liz…. Log in to Reply michaelmurmur January 16, 2013 I think it might be a re-cast of the Woman in White! What was her name? The shooting was all a ruse and she’s actually Laura’s other daughter she never knew about! Makes perfect sense. They’re bringing Ethan back and there’s so much rumbling about a strong Cassadine return to the canvas. What do you think? Log in to Reply jthawk January 17, 2013 No! No! No! No! The Woman in White never needs to be mentioned ever again. Horrible, awful storyline! I’m with those that think it’s a Serena or Liz casting or a recast of someone already on the show. Log in to Reply nysam January 17, 2013 Based on How long Liz has been on the show and that she was in high school in 1997 when she appeared Liz has to be at least 30 if not a little older. Sarah Webber was her older sister so she would be mid-30s. I think it is Serena or a new Lulu. Log in to Reply Jabot1991 January 17, 2013
They’re recasting Lulu. It makes sense that it will be for the role of Sabrina Baldwin, as Scott is on his way back. Fits the age of the character. I also agree we need some hunky men age thirtyish on the show. Not twentyish…Men reach their prime at age 35, and only get sexier after that. For me at least Log in to Reply Yoryla January 19, 2013 This had BETTER be Serena Baldwin, or another legacy child! NO MORE NEWBIES!!! Log in to Reply mfarris70 January 28, 2013 I think its Alison Barrington from the Port Charles series. Log in to Reply JAYSON369 January 28, 2013 If It’s Serena Baldwin, they can put her with Michael and let him cheat on Starr with her. Let’s face it, Chad Duell and Kristen Alderson have as much chemistry as undone bacon in a sandwich. Kristen might end up staying on One Life To Live anyway, so, it’s a good idea to chemistry test Michael and the blond no matter who she is. Let’s face it, Kristen had a Hell of a lot more chemistry with Erik Valdez (Trey). In fact, their chemistry was on fire!!!! Miss that dude, he was a Hell of a lot more exciting than Chad Dull………….I mean Duell! Log in to Reply JAYSON369 January 28, 2013 Chad was fun to watch during Michael’s rape, Abby, and her death. Cartini isn’t doing a good job writting with his character. Plus, he seems to be board with AJ. Sean Kanan is one of the best fucking actors in the bussiness! I just think Chad is taking him for granted because he is not with Steve Burton anymore. Log in to Reply TV Gord January 28, 2013
Chad was fun to watch during Michael’s rape…
It’s going to take me a while to wrap my brain around that observation. Log in to Reply JAYSON369 January 28, 2013
It’s going to take me a while to wrap my brain around that observation.
I meant his acting. His emotion and his intensity from the storyline. I enjoyed his scenes with Jason and Abby. When it came to a fold, the character went to a whole new level. I think that even though the storyline was controversial, it was unique and will be hard for other soaps to repeat anything like it. Chad should’ve won the emmy that year. Instead, they gave it to Scott Clifton, his former TV cousin, for portraying Liam Spencer on B&B. Log in to Reply TV Gord January 28, 2013 Thanks for the explanation, JAYSON. I was hoping it wasn’t as it came across to me. Log in to Reply JAYSON369 January 28, 2013 LOL! Anytime TV Gord Log in to Reply Scooter Smith February 27, 2013 Bishbay, did you know that JMB was leaving, or was it just more snark to go with your Jennifer Bransford remark?
