HomeTVDays of Our LivesMarlena’s Plan to Set Up Kristen Backfires on Days of Our Lives Luke Kerr January 18, 2013 Days of Our Lives, TV Recap 17 Comments Marlena (Deidre Hall) and Kristen (Eileen Kristen) were in the midst of sparring yet again when Roman (Josh Taylor) interrupted. Marlena wasn’t very subtle in trying to get her ex-husband to leave. After he left, Kristen toyed with Marlena. Frustrated that her plan wasn’t going the way she wanted, Marlena decided to leave. Kristen stopped her and then showed her a piece of paper that read: “I know what you are doing.” Kate (Lauren Koslow) continued to work Jennifer (Melissa Reeves). She wants her to tell Daniel (Shawn Christian) that Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) used to turn tricks ASAP. Jen refused to believe the worst about Chloe and tossed Kate out of her office. Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and Chloe fought over their love for Daniel at the rectory. Does every woman in Salem have to want this guy? Daniel bumped into Brady (Eric Martsolf), who revealed that Jennifer knew about him and Kristen. Daniel tried to act as if it wasn’t a big deal. However, when he met up with Jennifer later he acted as if he was a bit hurt, saying they shouldn't keep secrets from each other. This of course made Jen feel like she has to tell Daniel about how method Chloe was when auditioning for Julia Roberts' role in Pretty Woman: The Musical. John (Drake Hogestyn) and Brady argued about Kristen—again—but avoided coming to blows this time. Later, John smelled the fart after discovering Doc's recording device. See Marlena, that's what you get for listening to Hope (Kristian Alfonso). 17 Responses hey mon January 18, 2013 If Kristen aint the answer to all of DAYS problems. Can we say how fantastically great it is to see Eileen Davidson in this role. At least Deidre Hall has something going on in her sorry life with John. A Roman sighting! Log in to Reply ChrisGa January 19, 2013 While I continue to lament the absence of the great Ashley Abbott at Y&R–bring back Brenda Epperson already!–that show’s loss was DAYS gain and, ultimately, it’s savior. While good storytelling has been hit and miss for the last year–just about anything involving Will being the exception–ED has come on and has been steering the ship almost single-handedly since(though to be fair, the last couple of weeks of the show, especially the Will/Gabi baby reveal, have been masterfully done). ED deserves an Emmy, if for no other reason than she’s carried this show on her back without breaking a sweat. Of course it’s a plus that she’s a damn fine actress to boot(and am I wrong to say she’s still one of the two or three most beautiful women in daytime? I’m gay to the core but even I can appreciate that). Log in to Reply SoapArmageddon January 19, 2013
….she’s still one of the two or three most beautiful women in daytime? Thank the Lord for Eileen Davidson being on this show! It is true, she is almost single-handedly carrying this show. Loved her antics this week. Did Marlena REALLY think she would get her to trip on that lame plot? It was so see-through it was ridiculous. Doesn’t hurt that Eric Martsolf has been looking extra hot this week, loved the leather jacket style (yum…). AND we finally had Nicole hearing about Bristen – let this be the start of a great new storyline! I do hope they don’t take Marlena out of the equation completely – although her presence is also needed in the Will storyline. However, the Chloe/Daniel storyline was doomed before it even began. Even though she is an extremely beautiful woman, I did not miss Nadja Bjorlin’s “acting” on this show. I just don’t see any place for Chloe on the current canvas – she just seems like an interloper. The less Daniel – the better. Log in to Reply SoapArmageddon January 20, 2013 I’ve never had much of anything good to say about Nadia Bjorlin’s acting; but, at the risk of her disappointing me again at some point in the future, I’ll say she did a really good job this week. I loved, LOVED, her back-and-forth with Nicole at the church in Thursday’s episode. Arianne Zucker, as always, was amazing but Nadia also held her own. IMO, Days’ only weak link right now is Shawn Christian’s Daniel. Since Chloe, I hear, is only back for a limited run, they really ought to write them out together.
Yeah, I thought NB was pretty good this week, though I did want Nicole to knock her flat of her ass there for a minute(as always, Ari Zucker is pure gold). Do agree, though, that this would be an opportune time to start planning Daniel’s exit with Chloe if NB is in fact on for a limited run(and you can throw Jennifer on that bus out of Salem with them). I can’t find the clip and I want to watch this back and forth! I have been peaking in since ED and always try to catch AZ and I’m finding Days entertaining but have not watched a whole show granted. I was watching the day Kristin held up that note…I loved it! ED did save DAYS! Good for Days. Plus, he’s a better actor IMO(not to mention hotter). Log in to Reply SoapArmageddon January 21, 2013 Re Kyle Lowder as Brady: I much prefer Eric Martsolf in the part. The man is smoking hot!!!!! harlee490, it aired last Thursday. The two of them also had some interaction on the Friday episode. Log in to Reply booze26 January 21, 2013 Well, ED and KL had great chemistry on B&B. Log in to Reply lostfan January 21, 2013 There is no comparison between Kyle Lowder and Eric Martsolf. Lowder is a very hammy actor, while Eric is yes, smoking hot, but also a terrific and underrated actor. I have loved him since he started as Brady–he has great chemistry with all of the actors with whom he works, and he is great with Eileen Davidson Log in to Reply SoapArmageddon January 21, 2013 On a related note, I’ve read quite a few comments by posters complaining that the storyline makes Brady look like a fool. I could not disagree more. Since time began, men (and women) have been blinded by their bodies’ response to another person’s physical attributes. That Kristen is one sexy woman (much sexier than Y&R’s Ashley). You just know she’s a tigress in bed. Log in to Reply hey mon January 21, 2013 I dont think that Kyle Lowder is the definitive Brady Black, except when the Powers at DAYS want to pair him up with Nicole. Obviously Arianna and Kyle had on screen chemistry, cause they are banging away in real life. Kyle looks ‘young’, too young for Kristen. For Kristen to go after a Kyle Lowder Brady would be creepy, and would start to border on another of our less fave older/younger romances in Daytime in Shictor. And you’re right, Eric M is in much better shape. Big lats on that guy. Eric must go to the set to film, then go to the gym for 2+ hours a day. Those kind of pecs and lats take a massive contribution in building muscle, as well as eating right to gain the right weight, and his biceps measure in at a daytime largest, too. Glad that Gary T & Chris W are using this great specimen to give Eileen D what she deserves, sex romps that are outstanding, and great for s/l. Plus, maybe DAYS could use a strip club, now that Chloe is back. (Not that she was stripper, but she was a ‘girl for hire’). Long ago, in the mid 80s, DAYS had a strip club, but it only had male strippers. Melissa Anderson Horton fell for a guy named ‘Pete’. Lisa Trusel did a good job as Melissa. Too bad they only drag her out for funerals twice a decade. … and can I get a shout out for the return of Alexis Thorpe! She could play either Rianna from Y&R, or Cassie on DAYS. Log in to Reply js3557 January 22, 2013 I hate the way John is acting. He is so high and mighty about Marlena keeping secrets. Doesn’t he stop to remember that he wasn’t believing a word she said before catching Brady and Kristen going at it? Why would she confide in him when he was constantly siding with Kristen? That man aggravates me to no end at times.
