AMAZING: All My Children and One Life to Live to Premiere Digitally on Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes!

Okay, of all the news that has come out about Prospect Park's continuations of All My Children and One Life to Live, this is definitely the most promising. I take that back. Mama Agnes Nixon once again being involved with her babies was the most promising news, but the following development is most assuredly the runner-up.

Prospect Park has inked a deal to distribute The Online Network's (TOLN) all-new episodes of AMC and OLTL via Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes!

Per their distribution pact with Hulu, AMC and OLTL have the potential to reach millions of fans on Hulu.com for free. Hulu Plus subscribers will be able to watch the wanton, striving antics of the citizens of Pine Valley and Llanview, Pennsylvania play out on web-connected TVs, mobile phones, tablets and PCs. iTunes users will be able to watch on iPhones, iPads, iPod touches, Apple TVs, Mac and/or PC.

“I believe that both Hulu and iTunes have the vision, the reach and the technology to help us launch TOLN in a significant way,” said Prospect Park CEO Jeff Kwatinetz. “We think these platforms are part of history, helping us to transform distribution. Hulu’s reach, platform and advertising prowess are best in class, and iTunes provides an incredible way to buy TV shows that is second to none. Through both of these partners, we hope daytime drama fans are absolutely delighted to be able to watch their favorite programs in a broadcast-quality HD format wherever and whenever they want.”

Look for new eppys of AMC and OLTL to begin streaming this spring!

It's already been stated officially that the episodes will be available FREE online. I agree that people need to chill out about this. The notion that we will have to pay to watch the shows has no basis except paranoid fears. Think about this: These shows were cancelled because of low ratings and the supposed lack of interest in soap operas. Do you really think Prospect Park would attempt to bring them to the internet, which a relatively large proportion of America still doesn't haven't access to, AND force people to PAY MONEY to watch them there? That would be a total failure before it started.

If you insist on watching on your TV you'll probably have to pay for a Hulu Plus subscription. If you can stand to spend one hour four days a week in your computer chair with a cup of coffee and a snack to watch the shows, you get them free. It's as simple as that.

Non-Americans can download and install that IP blocker/hotspot shield software, so that they can watch it with everyone else.

Hulu plus is all I use. I watch GH and Days on it now along with Revenge and all my other shows. The only thing is that the daytime soaps you have to watch on a computer (laptop or PC) even with Hulu plus. It's not their fault it's Sony & ABC who won't give full rights. I'm assuming TOLN is allowing them to watch on all formats.

I just tried to access Hulu free on my ipad and android phone but it takes you directly to hulu plus link only--no other choice. I can get it on my desktop for free but I was hoping I didn't have to sit in front my computer to watch it.

This is great. I'm ready to drop the dollars so just name the price. I don't currently subscribe to Hulu Plus, but adding these soaps will bring me to the trough. Also I like that it will be on iTunes as well. I've bought the DAYS season subscription on there and it is great.

I think this is the way that things will be in the future for TV. You will pay per show or channel despite what the current media goons want to do in blocking this model. It is the way to do and the shows will live or die based on the subscriptions. It will allow them to truly assess the value of viewers. If the people don't pay up, they're not interested.

I'm Canadian, and I plan to watch them via iTunes. After a year without OLTL I have no problem paying to watch my beloved soap.

I think it`s a miracle that these people are actually bringing these shows back and I`ll do my damnest to support them. I can`t wait!!!

Pardon my moral highground, but that's stealing. Smile

Not on TOLN. It has already been settled that it will not be streaming on TOLN.

@ TVGORD

Other articles online state that it will be on TOLN. Why wouldn't they broadcast it on their own network?

The Hollywood Reporter apparently misread the news release. Their story is not correct. Matt Webb Mitovich at TV Line asked specifically and was told that TOLN would not be streaming the shows (hence the deal with Hulu and iTunes). Smile

As for why they wouldn't stream it on their own site, see Jamey's response at #59. That's why it's a good idea to read other people's comments before you comment. Smile

Have the Real Soap Fans of Daytime Confidential settled the drama in the latest episode?
And when is the Reunion episode?

I wonder if they'll consider putting out a DVD set. It probably wouldn't be possible to do an entire season, but the Friday recaps in a set might work.
