Detective Chavez Hits on Abby Newman on The Young and the Restless

Michael (Christian LeBlanc), Kevin (Greg Rikaart) and Fen (Max Ehrich) handled the power outage to the best of their abilities. Meanwhile, Lauren (Tracey Bregman) and Carmine (Marco Dapper) gave into their attraction and kissed.

Abby (Marcy Rylan) arrived at Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) club and ordered a dirty martini. Detective Chavez (Ignacio Serricchio) was at the bar, and started to hit on the Naked Heiress. With her ex-boyfriend Carmine playing tonsil hockey with Lauren, it’s good someone else is interested in Abby. I hope the potential couple gets a slow build, and not a quick hop, skip and jump into bed. The one thing I didn’t understand from their scene was Abby’s mention of mooching off her mom. She won 500 million dollars from her daddy. She doesn’t need to mooch off her mom.

Adam (Michael Muhney) and Sharon (Sharon Case) started to make out on the couch, but stopped themselves from having sex.

Cane (Daniel Goddard) showed up at Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) hotel room, and pretended to be room service to get her to open the door. As they talked, she realized she needed to go see Adam and tell him about the pregnancy test she’d taken. However, when she arrived at her old home, she discovered Adam with Sharon.  Instead of telling Adam the truth, Chelsea gave her wedding ring back to him.

Stuck in her car, Katherine (Jeanne Cooper) couldn’t get reception on her cell phone. Adriana (Jhoanna Flores) stopped and offered her a ride home. After dropping Katherine off, Adriana went to Underground and gave Detective Chavez the money.

At Avery’s (Jessica Collins) apartment, she and Dylan (Steve Burton) kissed as Nick popped up outside her door. The two men did a bit of chest beating before Nick left. Avery quickly informed Dylan she’d said goodbye long ago, and gave herself permission to move on from him.

Tyler (Redaric Williams) tried to reassure Lily (Christel Khalil) her children would be fine. When Lily finally returned home, she discovered her children were sleeping peacefully. However, she and Cane got into a fight when his jealousy of Tyler bubbled up. He asked if she cheated on him with Daniel, (Michael Graziadei) when they were separated and contemplating divorce. She wouldn’t say yes or no, which Cane took as a yes.

Poor Ignacio, having to play such a tool!

P.S- The only use I have for this guy is if he can get rid of Adrianna for me!

I think this could be a great love interest for Abby and it was happening on the screen. Ignacio Serricchio has had chemistry with the chem testing with the female leads lately. MR would shine in this slow burn for romance.

I'm warming up to Jhoanna Flores as Adriana, she hasn't been on everyday, and seems to started settling into the part. I liked Adriana got meet the queen of Geona City and made her stop and think.

I do like that Avery didn't immediately "go back to see" w\Dylan. It's still building Navery as a couple which is nice to see. I would like Dylan\Sharon to be in the same atomosphere because those two would make a better couple.

Ole smilin' Jack, when is the last time we saw Jack as romantic lead in Jack fashion...the scenes with Phyllis on Valentines was great! Loving Phack! Love Love Love Jack telling Phyllis "keep telling yourself you can resist"...so romantic.

I am a firm believer soaps needs to add more soapy romance as in past because they have gotten away of old fashion romance. Soaps was founded on romance...and it's everywhere on Y&R right now. Kudos for giving us some lovin' in the afternoon. Love Love

I love Ignacio. It's nice to see some Latin blood showing back up in Genoa City.

I kinda thought he'd be good for Sharon. We'll see.

Thrilled to have Abby 2.0 back. I can tell she's going to be more mature this go round, thanks to the new writing that's in place.

Lots of couples being formed, and I like most of them. AND it's not being rushed for the most part.

I don't think we've had a wedding in some time!

I like Ignacio Serrichio and barely recognize him from his days as Diego on GH (and that's a great thing because Diego was bland, bland, bland.) I think Detective Chavez is sexy and charming and funny. His flirting with Abby was cute but I really liked his chemistry with Chelsea on NYE. I'd rather see Alex/Chelsea over Chelsea/Cane.

OK... I am liking the pairing of Abby with Chavez. I am hoping they write him more of a good guy and less of an "jack-arse" like they did from the beginning. I like the rapport the two had when at the UNDERGROUND. He was slightly flirtatious and she was sweet and confident. If done right this could be a truly sweet and great couple!!!

The fact he has no money and his sister is a tramp will surely make Victor hate him so at least we have that to count on with this pairing!

OK, for all you "I hate Christel Khalil" I hope today's episode put that to rest because she delivered AND DELIVERED BIG TIME!!! I just loved the fact that the writers wrote her smart and didn't let her forget all the things Cane did to separate them like they do with every other argument on this show to make the aggressor seem the one in the right!

Lily (Christel Khalil) delivered and made me now root for this couple to survive! I was ecstatic that they wrote Lily has being smart enough to say "I don't give a crap if Tyler has a thing for me because I don't have a thing for anyone other than you, Cane" and that she pointed out all their obstacles!

And from the preview Lily is truly going to stand up to Tyler tomorrow by letting him know that her marriage is strong and that if he has any ideas otherwise, then take a hike! Sure, it won't stop him but it will sure put him on notice! I just hope now that Cane isn't sooooo stupid to go after Chelsea... even if for employment... after Lily has repeated she doesn't like her and wants nothing to do with her since Lily is assuring Cane of her devotion to him.

It's only fair.

I am now getting on board with Leslie and Tyler's back story. Granted, we all can see the writing on the wall that Senator Wheeler is most likely the killer and that Leslie and Tyler's dad is the man behind bars. It's a soap afterall. But I do have a hope in the back of my mind that Wheeler was actually having an affair with their mom and to protect himself from his family and career being destroyed kept it a secret but that he truly loved their mom.

It would be such a great twist all around that Avery defends their dad, gets him off and then in the process of finding out who might of done the crime they discover Senator Wheelers connection other then being the mom's employer and then slowly Avery, Leslie and Tyler find out that their dad did kill her out of jealousy! And he's out to kill Wheeler now and all that.

I like Grant Pinter and keeping him around could add to the show in that there would now be a new older man in town not only to pull Nikki's glare away from Victor but possibly to turn Jill's eyes or even vy for Phyllis against Jack.

But whichever way it goes, I am getting on board with Leslie and Tyler. Just make leslie as smart and tough as she was with Tyler this evening.

OOOOOHHHHH... so sad for Neil with all that pampering and rose petals and his girl ends up in the bar at the hotel with her hair still well done! Guess Neil's a 2 minute man!!! HAHAHAHAHA

Love Mark Pinter.... I am sure he is up to something.

Love the scenes with Jack, Phyllis and Nikki - what a three some but it turned out well. Jack with Phyllis.... a time bomb ( in a good sense ) waiting to go off.... I didn't see it with Emily or Genievive.

Loved the stranded in the snow scenes... what will become of Kay and Adrina. Love the "new" Abby - something has changed with the Naked Heiress and it seems to be all good.

Liked how Avery chose Nick, loved the look on his face when he opened his door and found Avery there. Hope this acccident with Sharon and Dylan won't derail things.

Loved Chelsea's little surprise, and Chloe showing up in the cat suit ( eeewwww!)..

loved smiling Carmine.... and did not like seeing Cane in his black undies...loved Billy and Victoria playing in the paint.

Notice I keep saying "loved"? I love the show these days!!!!

Pjc....YES the scene with Cane and Lily was great. It's just best to dismiss negative comments sometimes. I'm okay with an eventual split but I've always appreciate what they've brought as a couple. I know why people don't like them, but that's their chip. Great scene!

I watch the soap when I get outta work at 11pm, so I'm a little slow. I did not make the connection that their dad is the one in jail, but I do think Wheeler is the killer...
And your Neil observation was hilarious!!! Big smile Big smile Big smile

I don't think Senator Wheeler killed Leslie & Tyler's mom I think she worked for him. If she was working for him and had an affair and Tyler is his son and Leslie knows this and their dad found out about the affair & Tyler which could had been going on for years.

Sorry pjc722...still don't like Christel/Lily. I find her bland, boring and unemotional. Her scenes seem so forced. Maybe it's her "husband" that's bringing her down...I've not seen her much with anyone else...but Lily & Cane are boring! And sad Sad (Come to think of it, she's boring with Tyler too, so maybe it IS her!?!?)

What was that Katherine scene all about? So random and didn't fit in with the stories being told at all. And since when does Katherine drive HERSELF anywhere? She has a driver for god's sake!

I actually like Ignacio's character for the first time during his scenes with Abby. I'm hoping that pointless money storyline is over now that Det. Chavez took it from Adrianna. If ever there was an example of storyline filler this was it.

What about all the romance lately? I'm digging all the love in the afternoon the new team is serving up. I like that they are mixing things up in a way that doesn't involve every character being questioned at the GCPD or hiding evidence or pointless court trials. Y&R feels the most soapy it's felt since Kay and Jack were running the show.

I still have mixed feelings about the music. I have heard some pieces I like while others feel so wrong for this show. Personally I like sweeping, dramatic scores under all the drama. JFP's presentation of scenes sans music is interesting but overplayed. I like the idea of scoreless scenes for specific dramatic effect but not everyday in every episode. Y&R's old music was very much part of the story and pulled the viewer in specific directions. Can you imagine Sheila switching the babies to no music? It just would not have been the same.

I see where they are going with Y&R and as they work the kinks out it seems to be jelling better. Time will tell. The proof will lie in the ratings.

I think Ignacio Serricchio must be a good actor because I certainly can't stand him or the way he dresses (that leather jacket he always wears is not very flattering). He's a very good looking guy and if he stays I hope he fluffs himself a bit.

I say this because he had a quite a large role on CSI last week and was barely recognizable. It's interesting that he was onscreen for more than a few seconds (unlike certain other Y&R alumni).

Peter Porte Stripped in primetime last night. He doesn't seem to need Y&R anymore. He moved on up to the West Side. The West Side of Hollywood that is. To be apart of The New Normal. What a great episode.

Y&R was good yesterday as always. Lily and Cane heating up the sheets. I want to know what is going on with the senator, Valerie and her brother.

Ignaccio is a welcome addition. Need a good Latino man to keep all of the ladies happy. His leather jacket is pretty cool, too. Not sure though, why Abby always has to go after the 'bad boys' of the Show. Hopefully she can stay a while, and she is just not filler again.

Yea, the fact that Katherine drove herself, in the blizzard of the century, is strange, when just days earlier she has her driver take her to the drugstore.

Unless this will somehow fit into the bigger picture, somewhere down the line, in the dementia plotline??

I think IS is a great actor--and my second fave new hottie next to Robert Adamson--and while the character can be a little grating he does have alot of potential(for some reason he reminds me a little of Ricky Paull Goldin's Gus Aitoro from Guiding Light when he first came onto that show). Still think a Noah/Alex pairing would've been red hot but since no showrunner at Y&R is willing to commit to anything gay--or even bi--then I'd settle for him being paired with Abby(or Chloe or Chelsea....the man aces a chem test with anyone he's paired onscreen with).

TEDEW, I found Iggy to be just as talentless on CSI, as I do on YR.
He just lacks something. Perhaps it is because he looks so dirty all the time. I have had a beard forever, but the grubby look that all the guys on YR have with their 3 day or whatever growth, jut doesn't do it for me.

I'm seriously digging many of the new storylines on Y&R. I like the romance that is building for some characters and enjoy the new pairings. Phyllis and Jack are great together. I always preferred her with him rather than Nick - she's too old for Nick.

I'm hoping Avery and Dylan do get back together as I think they have chemistry. I'm finding her relationship a little boring with Nick but like how the writers are making a bit of a love triangle there. I've never watched GH so Dylan is new to me - I have no previous connections with him and quite enjoy his character so far on Y&R.

I agree with others that Detective Chavez has to clean up a bit, shave, join the Y&R force and have a romance with Abby. Those two also have some good chemistry. Also, @tedew - I always agree with your comments on this board!

Let's see Victor and Nikki get married for the final time and have them stay married for good now. Nikki's MS storyline is interesting and I'd like to see where it goes. Glad to see they are bringing the spotlight to a different illness. I'm curious to see where the writers will go with Katherine's memory problems/dementia as well.

It's good to have a shake up with Lily and Cane. I think it's time to see them both with different people, but I'm not sure yet about Chelsea and Cane. I enjoyed her pairing with Adam. Down the road I'd like to see Nick and Sharon get together again, as I think they are the Victor and Nikki of this generation.

The Tyler and Leslie storyline is unraveling nicely and I am getting the impression that Senator Wheeler was in love with their mother. Interesting interpretation from others that he is, in fact, their mother's murderer.... guess we'll have to wait and see.

Just have one criticism about the Underground - such a dumpy looking bar! I was hoping some of the new sets could be brighter but the bar looks pretty grimy to me. It needs some paint and a good electrician...

I am very glad that Iggy is on The Show. But I really feel that the Show needs to have a gay or bi character, and it needs to be floundering, oh-so-boring Kevin. I cannot believe that Kevin Rikaart wouldn't jump at the chance to portray a bi guy,m with all of the complexities that the s/l would bring.

Let's say that Kevin gets arrested in the 'bag of money' scheme, then Kevin could start off asking Rafe for legal advice. Then, after a day or two, the 2 men could end up in bed, with Kevin acting all crazy afterwards. Then, Chloe could find out, and become the great bi+ch she was back in 2008 (the last time she was fun to watch). She could try to get even with Kevin or Rafe, and after a while, even accept Kevin's situation in life -- or divorce him. But it would be interesting watching, and different for the rest of 2013.

After a while, Kevin and Chloe could have a child or something, cause the guy has been on for a decade now, and he doesn't have the springboard of children to play off of, which makes for some great s/l's.
